Do many of the 2023 try out for the 2022 teams at YJ? I doubt it, although there may be 2024's trying out for the 2023. there were a few 2023's on last years 2022 teams, but I think most 99.9% play on age

Elevate is having another tryout this weekend. Smart on their part have a tryout after YJ posts rosters and get any disgruntled to jump ship. Its a good move and there are a lot of disgruntled YJs after roster postings.

Its a good move and there are a lot of disgruntled YJs after roster postings. There were a lot of disgruntled yj parents before, during and after try outs. True of all club actually. Kids on top team who stay there are happy, kids getting moved up are happy. A few on the below teams are realistic and know they are on correct team and are happy. But that still leaves many people who are unhappy and/or unrealistic (or self proclaimed victims of politics). Numbers of unhappy at yj is large because there are tons of teams for every age group and only one top team. Go over to a small club where they only have one top team, you see less of this jealous inter team movement stuff. TG got big quick and has same crap going on, smaller clubs have much less of this, but along with that comes less competitive teams and lesser talent.

Smart, and profitable. They are charging another $75 tryout fee for a possible spot on their third team. Elevate's teams and coaches are mostly weak. Probably better to stay with YJ, even on a lower team. If you are looking for a spot on a top Elevate team, just contact Kotowski. He is always willing to "make a deal." Elevate is having another tryout this weekend. Smart on their part have a tryout after YJ posts rosters and get any disgruntled to jump ship.

Or you could just pay $2000 to play in 6 crappy tournaments against other YJ teams - but you still get a YJ Pinney and a bumper sticker.

CR should have listened to her directors a few years ago when they told her to go back to the elite format, 2 teams per age group. It's obvious, it's all about the money.

Can't blame her for chasing the dollar and adding teams. The sport has grown in popularity since she began her club ten fold. If she didn't add the teams someone else would of picked up those girls on the 3-6th teams. She built the brand and markets it well with all the clothing and such, so she deserves what the free market will bring her. Only one team per age is elite, the others just get to participate.

Kind of ironic that you are ridiculing a team for not being elite enough when you most likely belong to a club not nearly as competitive as the one you enjoy beating up.

Her contacts cant be questioned. Even teams 3-5 are placing girls in college. Saint Marys, Kenesaw, Brooklyn, St Francis, Iona etc. All D1 programs that are giving out cash. All colleges like YJ petigree College coaches don't give a crap what CR says, they want to see the kid play. If they can play then the coaches want them. If CR says the kid can play and the coach doesn't like what they see, then the kid gets nothing.

The key is , she will get the coaches to take a long look with her recommendation. The rest is up to the kid and how good her grades are! Bottom line is that you shouldn't want your kid going to play for a program that will be over her head, Unless she doesn't care if she gets playing time and just really wants to go to that school!

There is perceived safety net for coaches recruiting a YJ kid (they must be good) just like drafting kids from Alabama in Football or Kentucky in basketball.

Is there or is there not a recruiting fee? I've heard from former YJs (Blue) maybe 5 years ago that there was, but on here everyone swears there isn't. So is there or isn't there?

Now that they have greatly expanded that is not true anymore. Big difference between a yj first team player and a yj forth team player. If you want to change the statement of safety net applied to first team only, then okay.

The players skills speak for themselves. They get seen by coaches at tourns and showcases. Carol Rose does very little talking to coaches, even if you pay the recruiting fee. Read the fine print with the recruiting service, she just tells you who to contact, and how. Waste of money.

Had a college coach that my family knows personally ask if my family knew a certain girl who plays for YJ. Said she had contacted CR and CR barely would admit girl played for the organization. CR would not even agree to pass along coach's info to the player. Be careful what you wish for!

Okay so if I am a rookie college coach, am I going with the Beach Bum A player or the YJ player whose team is now just identified by a coaches name?

Why do you care considering your kid does not play YJ? It doesn't affect but I am curious. I've been around here a long time and this question has is still open to debate.
