West Islip 6, Connetquot 2 Smithtown West 15, Ward Melville 7
Highlights Attended the West Islip game - general feedback was that the refs were not a solid crew and did not call an even game. Received a call that suggested that Smithtown West really smothered the Ward Melville attack.

It has been seven years since there was a Suffolk County final without the Ward Melville Patriots taking the field. To be honest, Smithtown West was an offensive powerhouse in this game and completely handled any formation from the Ward Melville defensemen. Excellent job at player rotation from West kept fresh legs throughout the game, particularly in the midfield. A repeat of this game will give West Islip all they can handle after their 6-2 semifinal.

Section XI Class C (Halftime) : Mount Sinai 3, Bayport-Blue Point 1
Some would argue that this has been a defensive battle, but the BOTC halftime assessment is that this first half has been somewhat sloppy by both teams and the ball seems to have been on the ground an awful lot during this match. The energy of the crowd here at Stony Brook outstrips the quality of the play in the first half. Expect that both teams will get a halftime "spanking" and that the third and fourth quarters will be technically crisper.

Section XI Class C (In Progress) : Mount Sinai 3, Bayport-Blue Point 4
BBP score three straight unanswered goals by DeBlasio and White (twice) completely change the feeling here in the stadium in the third period. Mount Sinai looks stunned on the field. Would not be surprised to see a time out to try and regroup here.

Section XI Class C (In Progress) : Mount Sinai 4, Bayport-Blue Point 6
BBP ran the streak to four before an excellent Mount Sinai timeout was called to get things "righted" - and that was followed by their fourth goal. DeBlasio scored again inside the final 1:30 on a rocket to push the score to 6-4. Mount Sinai defensively has met one of their worst quarters of the season at the absolutely worst time. End of third quarter.

Mount Sinai lay it all on the line with goals by Wolfe and Marino to level the scoring at 6-6. BBP's DeBlasio scores again to take the 7-6 advantage. Less than five minutes remain and the game has taken a very physical turn.

Long Island Championship - Boys Class A (In Progress, Second Quarter)
Farmingdale 3, West Islip 2
After scoring two goals in nine seconds to take a 2-1 lead at the end of the first, the Lions seem to have taken their foot off the accelerator at the Dalers answer with two of their own to take a 3-2 lead in the second - still in progress.
