West Islip over Bay Shore, 10-6 Was at the WI/BS game - score was 10-4 when the WI starters came out but it felt a lot closer than that. West Islip was not hitting on all offensive cylinders. WI got goals from a long stick at important game points. Bay Shore came out ready to play they did nice nice job.

Comsewogue 9, Huntington 6 - questionable game with the winners getting four man-up goals - poor refs. Huntington's goalie played well in the game. Comsewogue is already pointing towards Eastport South Manor since that is likely going to be the match of the season.

This will be a preview of a potential late season playoff matchup in Suffolk County's Section XI tournament.

The game of the week to watch this week will come on Tuesday as West Islip faces off against Sachem North and their high powered Gamblin-led offensive formation. This will be a preview of a potential late season playoff matchup in Suffolk County's Section XI tournament. Two major match-ups on Tuesday - not only SN/WI, but also Ward Meville with Smithtown West. Some previews on these two big time games to be held tomorrow in Suffolk's top flight. Ward Melville at Smithtown West - Could Ward Melville be on the edge of a county, Long Island and state run? National polls have them getting the respect they deserve, but Smithtown West has been an Achilles heal for them over the past few years. Expect that this will come down to a two goal affair at very most. Sachem North at West Islip - Since they last played, the balance of power has shifted with the Sachem North imports leading the way. North will open the offensive flood gates here, the score be damned. Gamblin alone will account for six goals and the rest of the offense will be good for another dozen. West Islip will not generate offense as the transition game will be stifled by North in the middle. This will not be as close as many have predicted - final score, 18-7.

Sachem North will be a force, today's game reminded us of the West Islip loss last season, weather was not a factor in the game but dark skies seemed to make the ball harder to see throughout the game. Good win by West Islip shows that they are still a top dog this season.

Ward Melville at Smithtown West - Could Ward Melville be on the edge of a county, Long Island and state run? National polls have them getting the respect they deserve, but Smithtown West has been an Achilles heal for them over the past few years. Expect that this will come down to a two goal affair at very most. Game was abandoned with six minutes remaining and a score of 9-8 in favor of Ward Melville. Lightning was getting active at the point of postponement. No details on the reschedule or completion as of right now.

WI 12 SN 9, Looks like the free ride out-of-town recruits are going to need to pay some tuition. I hear Syracuse is graduating some talented players, maybe Sachem North can find a basement apartment for a few 5th year seniors.

Was at game entire time, weather and visibility of the ball was not an issue at all. Sachem's top middies couldn't handle West Islip, also goalies played a huge role in this game. WI goalie was outstanding and Sachem starting goalie had an off day. He was replaced in second half. Second goalie played better but bottom line here was that Sachem was no match at all for WI defense. Will see what happens in the playoffs, should be a great re-match.

MSG Varsity Live Match : West Islip 8, Chaminade 7
West Islip was leading 8-5 with a minute remaining before a pair of Chaminade goals with thirty seconds and ten seconds remaining tightened the final score line to 8-7.
The match was 2-2 at halftime with both teams showing a balanced attack. Throughout the second half, the Lions seemed to have all of their shots catching the cage while the Chaminade attack only seemed to find the seams late in the fourth.
On the television coverage, nice mentions for several of the players and their respective colleges starting next season.

Friday, April 22nd and Saturday, April 23rd Results
Shoreham-Wading River over Farmingdale, 7-2 This was a shocking loss for the Dalers and the game probably was not as close as this score - the keepers kept the score down for both sides although the Dalers keeper made three key saves during the match. Tempers were flaring towards the end; the Dalers will likely have to use this game as a major wake-up call heading to the playoffs. Suddenly, this non-league match starts you questions if the Dalers can handle Pequa at the end of this upcoming week.

You would think that the Nassau Class A season has been perfectly set for the Dalers yet they simply cannot get on track with all parts of the offense and defense in the same game. Friday against Massapequa will tell a great deal - including whether the Dalers will even make the county finals.
