TERPS lost all games at adrenaline today. MC, karma is a [lacrosse]. Too bad u only had 18 kids. Where were ur other 20? That is a lie. Terps went 2-1 - beat up on LB3 and Mesa Fresh Fever and lost to West Coast Starz by 1. How was playing time? playing time was great yesterday - all games started and ended on time with 23 minute running time halves. Same as most other tournaments why do you ask? Bad attempt at sarcasm?? Guess that answers question! Bad attempt at sarcasm?? Guess that answers question! [/quote] please explain your obsession with the Terps playing time? former member trying to stir up trouble? former member trying to justify your decision to leave, did your daddy not hug you enough when you were a baby? Why not go buy yourself a jar of vaseline and make better use of your time on the internet

I think most of us agree. It is just that one 91 parent that thinks his kid's team is on the same level as turtles are to 2017...

91 beat Crabs 8-6 and FCA 11-3. FCA lost to Crabs 10-6. 91 beat Crabs 8-6 and FCA 11-3. FCA lost to Crabs 10-6. Any 2018 team can beat another on any given day. The teams are that close. 91 is no better than Crabs and Express is no better than 91. They are all that good. Sit back and enjoy some really good lacrosse in this bracket. "on any given day" is a platitude/rationalization you could apply to any competitive sport and is unprovable by definition. What's a fact are the actual scores on any given day, and that's why the games are played with referees, scoreboards and clocks. You can only talk about the games actually played, won and lost. 'any given day' games don't exist. In the transient world that is Fall Recruiting circuit lacrosse the scores and winning and losing does not matter - rosters are different from week to week and even game to game with in a tournament - this is not a league or playoffs and while the teams play hard they do not play to win. In a "real" situation your best goalie would play the whole game, your starting attack and defense would play the 90% of the game and your first offensive middy's would play 70% of the game. In the Fall showcase circuit you have kids still playing Soccer and Football. FCA and WCS have different rosters every week 3D and Madlax have area teams and national teams and FCA puts teams together on a tournament by tournament basis as well as a lot of kids play on multiple teams. In a play to win at all cost tournament without concern for playing time and hurting feelings you have 8-10 really really good teams and on any given day any one could beat any other one. for my money if they all played to win, 91 is the best team but certainly not unbeatable. IMHO You make an interesting point, but I think it's a stretch to say that winning and losing doesn't matter in these Fall recruiting games. It is safe to say that it mattered to the players, coaches and parents of the Crabs, FCA Blue and 91, who all wanted to go 2-0 yesterday at JHU, but you are right as it pertains to playing time and getting everybody on the field - from what I could tell, all three teams were using their full rosters. Last weekend, there were coaches who didn't take certain players from certain teams off the field at Legacy. The issues coaches deal with in winning versus equal playing time seem to be the same in the Fall, only magnified because of the added layer of recruiting anxiety, as evidenced on this thread earlier.

Great event at Harvard this weekend as well:
3d Tri State vs Top Gun Fighting clams AA awesome game ended in 6-6 tie. Great game, a few big D1 coaches on the sidelines. Both of those teams will compete with anyone.

did anyone go to the recruiting event at St Johns last night? Was it any good? (and to beat them to it, I know Terps and Extreme parents it couldn't have been because you all were away)

Q1 - your team played great all weekend and were 6-0 but your son's coach did not get a call from a single coach about your son, was it a good weekend? Q2 - your team was over matched and went 2-4 on the weekend but your sons coach got 4 calls from D1 schools about your son. Was it a good weekend?

A match up of two very good teams has more potential recruits.

Seems 91's 2017 team didn't win many games at all last summer and they have 12 D1 commits. I guess the posters questions are right on target!

Hmmm, your questions are so challenging and thought provoking... I think most parents would want scenario number 2 This line of the thread started Monday with the 'on any given day' statement. The writer posed that winning didn't matter, because on any given day the teams that played in PA and MD over the weekend could beat each other. That's a very different point (and one usually put forth by the losing side), than whether recruiting success is more important that winning or losing, which is where the thread has morphed to now. The answers to the questions above are blindingly obvious, but not the point - noone is going to argue them.

The same way a bunch of other elite long island players do. Sweetlax recruits heavily from this area, their 2016 team features several express players and top li fogo as well. They field very good teams, are tight with recruiting and best of all, no drama!
