WB girl has the whole package. She gets the job done, and done well, through great skill and no dirty tricks.
MS girl has great skill and I'd like her better as a player if she wasn't always trying to do something shady. For instance, when taking a penalty shot she turns her back to the ref to "tie her shoes" while simulaneously tightening her strings to make her stick legal. She's got enough skill so she doesn't have to resort to those maneuvers and yet she does. I don't respect that aspect. She's also refused to shake hands at the end of a game. That said, I think she'll do great at UF, I really do.
EI girl has a great shot and great crease skills. She likes to play with one other player who will feed her or vice versa, she doesn't always look to see who else is open. It will also be interesting to see how she does not playing for her father, who, let's face it, runs just about every offensive play through her. IMO I would say two best middies are from MS and WB and two best attackers from EI and MC. All bring something to table and for major part very talented and make players around them better. Not all are perfect but all are great at their positions Do any of you know that there are 2 other leagues besides suffolk? Best crease player bar none is K.B. (S.H.A), one of the best Mid is also from the catholics, I.M. is definitely better than the ones you mentioned. If you looked outside you small world you would see most of the best players are outside Suffolk. Just because they don't seek the glory, doesn't diminish there ability WB girl has the whole package. We left YJ because of the pompous attitude. And yes we tried our and yes my daughter made the top team. We gave the "donation" just to prove the point to her. Organization is nuts from top to bottom. My daughter will have no problem getting recruited no matter who she plays for. She will follow every member of her D1 recruited family, we are just not going to let YJ take the credit. Sick of seeing all the gossiping non-athletic overachieving parents bragging about their mediocre daughters! You mean like yourself?

WB girl almost single handedly beat WI scoring 9 goals on a bum leg in the playoff game, she was unstoppable. Except for a last second 8m free position goal by WI, that game was headed for OT. She's the best on LI... Say what you want.

To the Catholic fan, you have no idea what you re looking at! I.M. isn't the best kid on St.A's CQ is the player you should be talking about and her over offensive game does not compare to SA(WB) and SP (MS). Furthermore when these kids play together and they did this summer, SP and SA clearly stand out as the 2 best and most complete players in that class.

What will be interesting this year is that WB, EI and Hauppauge all move to Class B due to lower enrollment. Now we will have many of the top players going against each other.

The original discussion was about the rankings of the best players around. Like I said, let the arguing begin. The discussion was about individual players not top programs. Everyone knows that Manhasset is basically an all star team. They are one of the top programs every year. West Babylon is only known for having 1 or 2 special players every few years. Smith, Murray, and Esposito to name a few. Apuzzo is just as special. The difference between a player like SA as opposed to the other girls named is that she has very little help. Take her off that team and WB is poor. You cannot say the same about any of the other girls teams. Teams know they have to defend her and still can not. Garden City has the results almost every year, 'Set and most others are behind them.

Garden city has one of the top programs year in and year out. No one is disputing that. Most schools would give anything to win 1 state championship. What number are they up to now?

Is this the Yellow Jackets thread? I must've clicked on the wrong one. This is obviously the High School thread. Or the Individual Player Analysis thread.

What does that have to do with GC's championships? The only elite kid that GC has is K.A. and she is a defender. It just so happens that there are more elite Suffolk players in that class. It isn't a big deal. who cares if they were from Suffolk or Nassau?

Your crazy, I.M has been s staple on that team causing havoc to goalies down low, even when M.B. was there. C.Q. is a ball hog that takes poor shots when she should pass instead, probably why D.G. wouldn't play her. In the end , if she was half as good as you say S.A. would have done more last year. She is not even in the same league as L.R., S.P. or even E.B. from the same team, and all 4 are better than S.A.

A Schools - WI vs MC Finals in Suffolk, pencil it in now! C Schools - BBP and Mt. Sinai will be an awesome contest!

Both great kids and players, but CQ impacts a game much more than I.M. I agree on the offensive end CQ is not great, but she is so athletic and effective in between the 30's and on D! Frankly it isn't close!

I thought I would have more dignity than to ever come and write on this blog. It’s bad enough I looked at the sight but when you hear your daughter has become a target for a disgruntled adult or a few adults, temptation becomes too great and you give in. But, we’re human and the last string of banter has put us over. I’m not registering but I don’t want to post anonymously. My daughter is a 2020 player that is trying out for YJ in a few weeks. When someone refers to her as the 2020 kid that played on TG 2019, you might as well put her name since there is only 1 kid that fits the description. For 99% of the YJ and TG families it is completely irrelevant what we do but to the 1% who seems to care, enough already. All your animosity is doing is drawing unwarranted attention to my daughter. Not just the person bashing but the person defending her. Please stop. You are feeding them! There are always people who do this whenever there is change. The right people get it and ignore it. There are so many good players and these girls are so young. It’s ridiculous to play them against each other who is better than who. They are all good and only together can they be great. Let them be. We have two older daughters playing competitive lacrosse so we know how this works. A few new dads of new young kids fight over who is the better team, better kid, better tattoo, better griller, better beer drinker. After 9th grade no one cares and the fighting begins with a new hot head dad coming into the new scene of travel lacrosse. I thought I could endure this stupidity until it blew over but I broke! For the record (and I know most of you don't care) but for the one who cares way too much, yes my daughter is trying out for YJ in a few weeks. She is hoping to make a new team, new friends, new teammates and CONTINUE with the great friendships she made at Top Guns. So are we. We hope the people at YJ will form their own opinion of us and our daughter. We hope she is a nice addition to any team she makes hopefully adds to the level of play that currently exists. I hope both YJ and TG lose a few games each so we can teach our girls to win with humility and lose without an excuse. You win some, you lose some. They are all good and will all find their way and grow in the process. Stop the bickering, the name calling and all the ugliness. I know there will be a string to follow this one poking at “the mom who posted this”. Let’s not dignify this site or this individual character or characters with any other posts on this subject. JS Most of us have no idea who you ar, all we know is that your part of a group that cut a deal to come to YJ without trying out, obviously this was done with help from f&f on the team so not everyone will be upset, but the majority are and the ripple effect into the other teams isn't all that welcome either

A grudge against St.A , I'm the one saying two of the best players on L.I. is I.M. and E.B. Both better than C.Q and S.A. and I further think that C.C. and C.B. both from S.H.A. are better than C.Q. and S.A. Neither tried out for school girls (or U-19 by default) so none of you lax aficionados probably even know who they are but should be very heavily considered

Please, there's a number of great players out there who aren't on this list and who chose not to get involved with Schoolgirls or Underarmour, hence why they were not put on the list.

You are such a coward! Stop embarrassing YJ! You want to believe they have f&f and you want there to be a back room deal so you have excuses when your kid gets bumped you can blame them. You're such a loser. Most YJ' are not afraid of new talent. Go away and stop embarrassing yourself and this organization!

What will be interesting this year is that WB, EI and Hauppauge all move to Class B due to lower enrollment. Now we will have many of the top players going against each other. Should be an exciting spring at the B School level! Eastport, Huntington, Sayville, WB, EI, Hauppauge, Harborfields, Kings Park, Rocky Point...Should be a competitive season. A Schools - WI vs MC Finals in Suffolk, pencil it in now! C Schools - BBP and Mt. Sinai will be an awesome contest! C schools Mt.Sinai is winning it easy BBP has no chance, Yes I said the same thing last year and was wrong but BBP has a 1 in 100 chance of repeating. Eastport lost several seniors who were key players as did Hauppauge RP and Harborfields. Watch out for Huntington and Sayville this year!!

JS Most of us have no idea who you ar, all we know is that your part of a group that cut a deal to come to YJ without trying out, obviously this was done with help from f&f on the team so not everyone will be upset, but the majority are and the ripple effect into the other teams isn't all that welcome either Dude get a life , time to move on. Why do you believe in rumors and it will not affect your kid on the 4th team with your ripple effect as several kids have left the 2nd team. Very well said to the parent of this 2020 player. My daughter is now playing in college. She has sky walkers, M&D players, Liberty and yes TG players on her team to name a few of the clubs and guess what no one cares where they came from or how they got there just that they are there and now a family! Get over the rumors and stereotypes let the girls play!!!

This response shows that you are clueless and seem to have a bit of a grudge against SA... Sad, but it is your opinion. A grudge against St.A , I'm the one saying two of the best players on L.I. is I.M. and E.B. Both better than C.Q and S.A. and I further think that C.C. and C.B. both from S.H.A. are better than C.Q. and S.A. Neither tried out for school girls (or U-19 by default) so none of you lax aficionados probably even know who they are but should be very heavily considered I know opinions are subjective but you are way off with your assessment(in my opinion). SA an CQ are at a way different level than I.M. AS for CC and CB u are right, I don't know them, but if they never play against the best kids how do you know they are as good! As far as EB she has been hurt a lot, so the jury is out, but when teams play TG the kid you have to game plan to stop is SA and NL and when you play YJ its SP and NO.

This has been beaten to death. College and Club are two different animals. For club everyone picks a pays for a product and hopes the rules are the same for everyone. With the clubs being FOR PROFIT, rules are bent and deals are made everywhere. At the end of the day, all of these directors are doing what they think maximizes their return and usually that return is tied to the PR and performance associated with their top teams. So if you aren't a top 20 kid in any organization your chances of getting screwed goes up quite a bit. Welcome to travel lacrosse its not for everyone.

I know there will be a string to follow this one poking at “the mom who posted this”. Let’s not dignify this site or this individual character or characters with any other posts on this subject. JS YEAH YEAH YEAH, how about you earn your spot, instead of backroom deals. What you seem to be unable to grasp is that this is not a back room deal, it is being done in the open for all to see. That is because the player is going to be in the top 24 at YJ and has earned through her play to be on the top team. It is really time to get over it. Frankly, it is a favor to the kids on the border of making the top YJ team as they should clearly know the situation by now and can tryout elsewhere if they do not like their odds. Getting on the team in 4th grade does not mean you will be there in 11th, or in this case as a rising 8th grader. You earned or lost your spot based on your play, a two hour tryout with hundreds of kids to evaluate will not show the coaches anything new. Not really interested in you making excuses, said family still needed to earn their spot on YJ, just like everyone else. No just because she's a good player. There are a lot of other good players that had to tryout and earn their YJ stripes not already put on the team and then told to appear at tryouts to not make other teammates parents angry. We will never respect this family, don't care what you, mama or papa bear says. So if it is a open tryout every year, what if a top YJ player cannot attend the tryout, do you boot her from the program? The answer is simply no, her play has dictated her spot on the team. Works the same way for this kid and others throughout the years. I hope your daughter lands in a good place, ultimateky it is about her and I hope no one holds your bagage against her as you are doing to this 7th grader. Funny thing is people still believing in the open try-out at any club. Maybe for the incomming class (babies) but for the older kids, their try-out is year long. By late summer the coaches know the ability of the individual kids, their own and the competition, and one try-out isn't going to change a year's worth of observations. With the exception of the rare "stud from nowhere", try-outs are little more than an opportunity to collect more money and placate the more gullible parents. YJ, TG, Elevate, M&D, SW....doesn't matter.

I know nothing about the St. A's players, but yes, not all girls want to get involved with the uber-political Schoolgirls. Those girls are not the only ones who skipped that.

Then one might question whether it was because of politics or perhaps the fear of truly challenging themselves against an "uber" competive field of players. This as opposed to the small pond of catholics girls lax players they currently compete against...

my daughter plays in the catholic league and all the players mentioned are great players. But if you believe that the SHA girls are better players than either the West Babylon girl or Mt Sinai girl, you haven't been paying attention.
