anybody attend prospect camps this weekend? any feedback? good competition? well organized? worth the money? We went to UMich, there were about 48 player, of which 46 were 2018 and 2 2017. Excellent showing from several of the LI players, nice campus, great athletic facilities and outstanding academic support for athletes. I suggest if you get offered for the prospect weekend, go! Players from all over the country, both coast and everywhere in between. 5 Terps 4 91 Extreme (actually 5, former fl$) handful of other LI Players.

I have never seen that in ANY sport when a kid commits early. Schools NEVER acknowledge the commitment publicly. Meanwhile this is CONSTANT banter in media in all sports about early recruiting, and there might be a tiny bit of issues going on at that university right now anyway (AD, football, concussions, HELLO!)

There are players from Long Island named to this event that are not even good enough to play on some B teams. Guess its who you know. Too bad politics involved again in an event.

Meanwhile this is CONSTANT banter in media in all sports about early recruiting, and there might be a tiny bit of issues going on at that university right now anyway (AD, football, concussions, HELLO!) There's nothing wrong with the ninth grader having a picture taken with the coach. It happens all the time. You can go to several club lacrosse websites and see their players having pictures with the college lacrosse coaches posted on their websites. Its very common There's no violation of any recruiting rule there. Coaches acknowledge 9th and 10th grade recruits all the time. Inside Lacrosse commitment list is verified not only with the player but also with the coaches. Therefore the coaches obviously acknowledge the recruits (With the exception of being some of the ivies) The whole concussion thing has nothing to do with early recruiting recruiting violations. If Michigan football was 5-0 we wouldn't be hearing anything about a concussion. Have you forgotten about the cheating scandal at Notre Dame. Of course you have because they are 5-0. Winning fixes everything. Don't confuse big-time football which is generates a huge revenue source with a non-revenue-generating sport like lacrosse. So HELLO no one sees any issue with this.

Cant say oh they got better over the summer, hit puberty, etc. If they weren't good enough to make an A or B teams how could they be included in a showcase for the best players from all over the country. There is one player who is 4th in the depth chart on his team and the 3 ahead of him applied but didn't get picked. Go figure.

I guess as long as they select your kid they get it right. A player might get overlooked at a tryout by one team but usually another team even a weaker program will put a player on their A or even B team. If a player attends multiple tryouts and isn't picked up by a team usually means he isn't capable of playing A or B ball. This is supposedly the best of the best. Some of the kids picked aren't even the best at their position on their team.

This list of 227 players is a good representation of the best players but not perfect by any means. Some of these kids get a free pass from their "B" teams getting to name a few players.

So these kids had no connections to get on a good team but they got into Philly Showcase through monkey business?
Sometimes coaches need to spread the wealth when it comes to recommendations they send some kids to Blackcard, some to Showtinme, some to Jake Reed, etc. but typically they don't just put their best kid in for all of them because other parents expect some love too.

Then they have a list of 3 or 4 kids that they try to get in based on declined invites. Yes some kids used High School Coaches but most use their travel coaches who have automatic bids. Many of the top kids from Long Island are on the list. There are a few from Long Island that in no way have the skill set to even be on the field.

Yes and if your HS is anything like ours, daddy can get coach to do whatever he wants. Listen in the end, where/if the boy plays will tell the story. Many times its much ado about nothing.

That list looks good to me looks like a lot of top players from long island. maybe missed a top player or two but there are a lot of very good players on that list. And know they are not all from extreme or express. Now watch how the express and extreme kids do when they do not have all that talent around them Some will do good most you will not even notice them This is my third time through this at this age.

I might not even bother taking him for the embarrassment he is bound to bring upon himself, his team, his family and his country.
