If you did not make the A team, do not be suckered or pressured to pay on such short notice. They will go down the line and fill the team with any warm bodies they can find. Take your chances finding another A team - trust me, its worth the effort and there are so many alternatives now that theres very little risk that you won't be able to upgrade your son's experience.

$1,800 for a single season? LOL. No wonder Team 91 is killing the Express. That is outrageous.

Don't know what that means but 91 charges basically the same cost for summer give or take $50.00 , they also charge for fallball tournaments and winter and spring league and winter practices as well , if you think 91 cost is all inclusive then you most likely never played for that organization they are all in it for the money no matter what organization.

Yep. Absolutely. First 20 checks.

Especially if you are 2019 or 2020. Go try out for another group that has an A team that plays in A brackets.

he was also a sophomore and as we know it was close to impossible to make a team as a sophomore. He was upset not necessarily because he got cut but because they took another player (who was a sophomore) they took him because he was tall and needed the height.

He being cut didn't have anything to do with his skill. He was one of the best in his area. The legend that this has become is so overstated.

The lesson here isn't work harder just - they didn't pick you regardless of your skill

In for a penny in for a pound. Just find the right coach and it's all worth it. Or not.

Probably both. The Terps probably had little turnover. They also most likely contacted the kids they want for their B team (Wolverines) and told them they would get an invite.
If you make the Terps that is a great team. Wolverines, not so much.

They will sell them with the, "With the new additions like your son, we will be able to beat most of the other groups A teams". Just like they said last year.
2 years ago their A and B team practiced together and got very similar attention and practiced together. Then the A team parents complained about practicing with the "B" team and last year it was a different deal. Buyer beware.

Great first practice for the honey badgers! A few new additions. Maybe enough to to beat the bandits.

Attaboy. Unfortunately, right now there are countless others who were "invited" to be on their various aged B teams are sending in deposits to be on teams that Express could care less about. Make sure you give them your deposit to lock up your spot.

Haha. Bandits don't need to turn over their roster like the honey badgers. HBs will have competition for the 2nd best 2023 team from Outlaws and Igloos. Lots of talent at this age.

I saw the Honey Badger coaches at tryout but no other coaches. Seems like coaches at 2023 for Outlaws and Igloo are accomplished.

Shaun Moran is coaching the 2nd team. Great coach. He was there the first night but heard he had to leave because his wife had a baby. It's tryouts, the HB coaches are more than capable of picking both teams.

I guess we'll see if that's true come spring. Does your son play on HB's? Are you one of the coaches? If not, what is the basis for your statement that they "turn[ed] over their roster?"

Spallina could care less about the bottom 10 kids on that team. It's a pattern with him on all his teams. Only play the top 10 players which are his kids, coaches kids and a few favorites and rotate out the rest each year just so he fills his required roster. The kids who don't get fair playing time should go elsewhere. It's only 4th grade. Sitting on the bench at 9 yrs old is insane and parents should be ashamed to let it happen.

check their website first - Due to the competitive nature of tryouts, Directors will have teams selected and offer letters out by Monday night

Don't have to be one of the five HB coaches to know that 4 or 5 kids won't be returning. Express does this every year. I think they even dropped some kids mid-season from the badgers.
