first series of real games at JR, no less than 18 big time coaches lining sideline watching rising 9th graders play. it is crazy to me but i guess that is the new path ...

Just left 1st session of JR. No clue what coaches will actually show up to watch but can tell you that assistants from unc, virginia, hopkins, penn state, ohio state, sienna and a few others are actually coaching the teams. 2 d-1 coaches per team. hard to beat that kind of exposure Great. For those us whose kids aren't there. We don't care.

Be careful what you wish for. You only have one chance to make a first impression. There are only a few kids that are ready to be seen by coaches. The rest should hope they don't get noticed in a bad way!

Also at JR. Like other poster said, lot of big time coaches around including the guys coaching the boys. Problem is that there is no opportunity to play. very selfish from all boys. Dodging two long poles? Boys open all over but no pass, I'll take the 15 yard shot...
Face offs? Three teams have fogo, two teams have none, one team has three????And even after it was made aware through quiet conversation.
JR gives exposure, but 75% is pure luck. All boys I have seen last two days are good, no weak links, but if you don't get the ball, if no one passes, how can you possibly stand out. Guess how the 3d system went over with the college coaches coaching the boys...Ask the Ohio state coach what he is running.
Attack rarely sees the ball, middies keep and dodge and shoot. Great attack kid I know didn't touch the ball in the last game, not one touch and he was dripping on the sidelines...hustling all over, but not one pass.
Outlaws fogo excellent and on a team by himself, but extreme fogo and terps fogo and fl$ fogo on same team and fighting for reps. Don't all those coaches on the sideline want to see them face each other?
Me, not happy with JR at all, so like last poster said, be careful what you wish for...
Maybe brine will be better (hopefully). JR cashed in, don't know what I would have done in his shoes, but I hope it would have been different...

JR a joke. Ball hogging all over. JR gave a speech about it, but apparently no one was listening.
Playing time seemed reasonably fair but i hear one team with three fogos upset...
Hopefully brine will be better. Gear was weak, but there were many coaches around.
Lots of disgruntled parent in this hotel.
Pass on JR class of 2019, JR not worth the florida trip to get in...

But the parent of every offensive kid is telling their kid to fill the net.

But the parent of every offensive kid is telling their kid to fill the net. Interestingly, that's not what the coaches are always looking for.... Sounds like for some it was good exposure, but for most it seems like it was a huge waste of time and money. Would that be accurate? Also, were there any kids from MD, PA, or MA, that were on age? Heard on a whole the LI kids looked undersized. Heard some kids were 2 years older?

Had the pleasure of watching both Long Island / Texas matchups - Texas clearly the second best team in tourney at Brine. Long Island barely lost a face off the whole time. Carolina also good - Duke's Caputo coaching it with his kids playing...

Ok Long Island team faceoff kid Dad. Your constant self-promotion of your kid is so obvious and getting tiresome.
I heard it was a really badly run event. Was told Kids who never went to a tryout were allowed to play on teams. Some 7th graders. Dad's little Boy. Total BS. The whole tryout process was corrupt and now hearing about what happened at the event; they continued with the corruption.
Not to sure why a guy like Caputo would associate his name and risk his reputation by allowing such corruption.

the boys were all top notch. too bad some intense parents coach their kids to hold on to the ball, score and worst - not get off the field. honestly, it was obvious to everyone who those kids (parents) were. didn't help them and didn't help the team. back off parents - let the kids and coaches play the game.
