Agree on the crush/terps banter and every other team as well. Many of the boys are classmates and teammates in other sports. The coaches get along. Enough of the insults. You all don't realize how trivial this will seem in a few years.Long Island has two teams that represent Long Island lacrosse well. Good luck to the terps and crush at Young Guns this weekend. Are they playing in the same division? If so why? There are 2 divisions and they don't play each other in pool play. If the Terps can get there they may play each other in the playoffs. That would be an ugly repeat. Does Express forefit that game?

Crush has played in 2019 bracket for awhile now and has played some real 2019 teams. They have also won them. Laxachusettes is a different breed of 2019. Express was close to their size and won. Not sure 91 is close to their size and still beat them the week prior. Not sure DD beats them. I see Crush facing them again and beating them. Maybe it's just me. Stinks to loose but is wasn't like they were out of it, it was a great game. On a separate note as one has said beating 91white seems to make you an A team... Maybe beating Laxachusettes makes you AA. It was interesting to see the kids that are really 2019 kids on Crush play against their own age. I guess they play down for a reason. Agree, the big 3 certainly held their own and it was a fantastic game, was good to watch the Crush defense get some action as they didn't win 90%+ of the face offs. Crush played with a ton of heart and didn't back down even though they were getting hit hard by a real 2019 team (all of the laxachusetts players were 7th graders so let's stop the hate).

Their offense is really impressive. I watched them for the first time at Lax Fest and they move the ball like a much older team. They have as very good defense as well.....but it is not on the same level and probably no better than Terps or any of the other top teams.

If I were in the Express program i'd be outraged that the Terps are supplementing their roster with player(s) outside the prgram for the tournament this weekend and not sourcing from the Wolverines or just going with what they have...

There are no rules about having guest players. Any team can do it, and it's really up to the paying parents on the team to be concerned with. You go to any tournament and you'll see teams with players wearing other clubs helmets, gloves, shorts...whatevers. Are these guest players sometimes a game changer - absolutely. But really guys, nobody is asking for a roster submission at the beginning of the year and a roster check at each tourney. Most id the times the boys just like to play with a friend who's on a different team because they are low on numbers - other times the club is looking to sandbag. Instead of complaining, address the problem with a solution and bring it up to USLacrosse.

No no. You have it all wrong. Crush has to supplement its team with players from Legacy because they allow their top players to play elsewhere so they don't lose them.

Interesting perspective on the Crush 2020s - we are no fans of the team but did not realize how widespread the dislike is. At Beach Lax, an older group of 91 boys encountered a group of 2020 Crabs. When the older boys realized that the Crabs were set to play Crush in the Championship game, the 91 boys told the Crabs "Good Luck, we hope you beat them." The older kids said because they were jerks. Crush did win as they usually do but it was interesting to hear that their own club mates feel the same way most others do. They are talented young players but the attitude of the kids and the parents is the most negative we have seen in years of tournaments. Really a shame as they could be a real asset to the sport and demonstrate winning with grace and the art of sportsmanship but instead choose to behave in this fashion.

His arrogance is astounding. It's weird because his brother who wore the number 91 is completely different.

I honestly have not seen any kids play dirty or outwardly gloat- they are too busy congratulating their teammates at the end of each game. I'm not surprised the older kids wanted their younger counterparts to lose- it's not easy being beat or playing close games with a younger team. One thread that runs common throughout this board- any of the top winning teams get a whole lot of hate spewed at them. From 91, to Express, to Igloo to Team LI- top teams are torn to shreds and people often nitpick to find something to complain about. How about we be happy that LI produces these top teams, even if our kid doesn't happen to play for one if them. On any team there will be a sour grape or two, but that holds true for every team. So let's start being proud of the LI teams that are so successful that numerous out of state clubs know of them and their play.

Calling on the "tenacious turtles" when is coach rudy (angry little person) going to hang it up? His negative attitude and little man complex (for good reasons) is pathetic. Hang it up dope! you have destroyed the confidence of more children than you know. When the kids you coached were in 2ND grade you got away with the way you coached your team. That ship has sailed many years ago. Call it quits please you ego elf!

"Behave in what fashion"? …from the countless and consistent comments on this board about Crush and the behavior, it is not because they are great. We all acknowledge that but while being great parent and kids can also be humble and good sports and not an embarassment to the Island through behavior. Just in the last 12 months: - behind the back shots when they are up by 10+ - parents verbally abusing kids on the other team while they are on the field -parents telling their own players after the game "…what the f--- was that?" " what you did sucked" etc. Nice family environment. - players using verbal intimidation to try to get into the other team's head -Crush Moms consistently getting into it with other parents on the sideline.
The list goes on and on and this goes back for years of both being a spectator at their games and playing against them. They are not good sports.
No complaints about the other LI teams who excel or any other team that is fantastic in their age group as long as they represent in the spirit of the sport and don't embarass us all with their behavior. Point is just because you are #1 in your age group does not give you the right to be an idiot. They would do well to heed what so many are saying instead of always blaming it on something else or that people hate because they are good - too easy . As they get older the whole package becomes more important.

Sounds like your issue is really with parents- not really kids- as all kids talk smack and try to intimidate- even the 4th grade town teams! Shooting behind the back is becoming more and more common- but I'll give that to you. I think people should not bad mouth the players because you don't like the parents. And again- bad seeds on every team- I'm sure there are nice ones too. I just think the winning teams have become targets of hate from adults and that's sad. You may not have issues with other teams, but plenty of others see no issue bad mouthing Turtles, Igloo, Jesters etc. let kids be kids and let them handle one another on the field- parents should all show greater restraint- here and on the fields. Good luck too all for the rest of the season.
