Huntington coach lost that game or lack of! Defense was pretty bad too. Sayville goalie was great! Huntington was not! Time for a coaching change. Ridiculous talent on that team. Actually not the case, yes they have a few talented goalies but only one can play at a time. Field wise not very deep at all, have 1 very talented kid , then 2 or 3 more solid players after that not much. Unfortunately for them other teams know who they have to stop . One very talented and the rest just solid? Come on man. You have over used your catch phrase ,do you think they have no very talented players or more than 1 . Have watched them play many times have 1 kid in top 20 for her age group on Long Island , other kids are good but not top on their age group let alone top when you combine all age groups. more than 1, lots of div one commits 4 D1 Commits and of the 4 I would say Ohio State and Stony Brook are the only real D1 programs...AMERICAN may be D1 but really any midddle line D2 school and top D3 school could beat them

Congrats to the Girls from Wantagh and Manhasset from the tiny Box scores in Newsday and lack of MSG Varsity coverage you wouldn't have know that Nassau Class B Semis were Yesterday for Girls lacrosse. Also heaven forbid they cover two Garden City Losses on the same day. There is no joy in Mudville.

[quote=Anonymous]Hauppauge spanks Northport ,, looks like its West Islip and Hauppauge for the Suffolk Championship. spanked is an understatement hauppauge dominated!!! Congrats girls you earned it Hats off to Carol Rose and Northport. They did it this season with smoke and mirrors and ended up a #3 seed. They beat Bay Shore (two words) on Monday when no one gave them a chance. They got beat by a better team tonight but she sure can coach! Good luck Hauppauge! Kiss up. How was that a great coaching job when you just got smoked.

Longwood at Sachem E Sachem N at Bay shore Smith East at Smith West Ward Melville at West Babylon This is a great bracket with some great match ups. Smithtown East vs Smithtown West--they played a great non-league game at the end of the season. Ward Melville vs West Babylon--A great 8-9 matchup Sachem North vs Bay Shore--Bay Shore has their mojo back, it seems, but Sachem North can score. Also, if Sachem North can pull off the upset, the next round game is YJ protege vs YJ Queen. my vote is for a Sachem North win!! YJ protege is doing a great job developing what was a weak program even if it's just the win against Bay Shore she deserves it!! YJ protege lol, beats up on weak teams and gets out coached by the other teams weather its YJ or Sachem the results are the same. Whover keeps coming on here trying to "make" the "YJ protege" happen, stop. All you're doing is putting a target on her back. Cream rises to the top whether it's promoted or not. If this kid is as good as you say, then it will become obvious to us all. Until then, give it a rest. Secondly, no one player makes a team. Witness the Islip sisters. They can score like crazy but they couldn't carry their team to playoffs. NO ONE CAN. Silly the protege reference is to the coach of Sachem her mentor is coaching Northport. The results were the same for both in the playoffs.

Would not put her on the same page on playing field with any of the Huntington High School girls

I was at the game and it will be remembered forever as a great game. The shot was awesome and when the net was hit, there was :00.1 still on the clock. You won't hear any sour grapes from us. Both teams absolutely gave it everything they had and left it all on the field! Congratulations to all the girls on West Islip!
Middle Country Girls lax would like to wish both teams the best of luck in the Finals.

BS of Topguns Bay Shore could have won but they scored one less goal than Northport. That's the formula for winning, score at least one more goal than your opponent. Ask West Islip.

That is why you play the game. That is why sport is great. I will say Good luck to Hauppauge. Sorry I discounted you this whole time. As a fan you cant go wrong with so many close games that could have one either way. Just look out for Suffern. Those girls are tough not to much room in their loses. $ goal differential in 3 loses in teams who at the time where hot. They also played matched well with the island schools in the beginning of the year scrimmages.

Thursdays championships
Hauppauge over West Islip, Hauppauge too much fire power, WI been very lucky. Double and face guard that WI girl that scored late last week and WI not much after that.
Sayville over WSM, Sayville Defense and goalie too strong for ESM
Mt Sinai over SWR, Mt Sinai wins large, way to strong all around.

Ummmm...Suffern? Still need to beat Section 8 champ.... Watched the Suffern team give the elite YJ blue team all they could handle at a winter tournament. They actually won the game at the horn, both teams headed off field with game decided, refs add 30 seconds somehow and start game back up for a yj win. Point is the yj team is made of the best player or two from many LI HS teams. The teams that YJ field are vastly superior to your average HS team, so if they had trouble with Suffern, LI school teams may be in for a ride.

Lets see, first they easily sent home 2016 blue, the same team every YJ parent on BOTC has boosted about obsessively as the best YJ team ever, they then beat 2015 blue until the ref interjected. See this is why you get YJ parents to react , a [lacrosse] trying to stir the pot comes in and makes crap up. 2016 blue against Suffern , really ,when and where. Your the DB and obviously have no idea what your talking about. T3 LI Championships this past Feb. Not stirring pot, reacting to LI HS teams looking past Suffern. Used their very strong performance against YJs two top teams to put it in context. You obviously were not there so you can dismiss yourself from this discussion now.

Suffolk/Nassau teams a little weak this year, except for Manhasset, Mt Sianai who will be favorites upstate.
West Islip, Hauppauge, ESM, Sayville, Farmingdale, dont have the level of talent they had in the past. Will be tough for any of these teams to win upstate.

We'll see! Thats why we play the games. Another thing, please stop with this nonsense of a team that's "scary good," because they have some 9th and 10th grade kids who are talented. There are a TON of kids that are talented in this sport. Varsity teams have 7th graders playing for them. Let's not get carried away here! As much as parents choose not to see, or might be oblivious to reality, this sport can be taught, at a late stage, to high end athletes, plain and simple. Northwestern had a Tawaarton{?} finalist who NEVER played this sport in high school. Their coach stated that with her athletic ability, she recruited her based on that alone, knowing full well that she would be able to be taught the skills needed to play at a high level.Northwestern won a couple of titles with her! It gets to be a bit of a joke when kids are verbally committing in 9th grade. This is not a knock on the kids, just a bit of a reality check on their parents. As this sport increases in popularity in the inner city, the competition for scholarship will greatly increase. Not a knock, just reality. Parents, please relax, and enjoy the fact that your daughters are playing a sport they love, and stop with the name-calling, and phony tough guy routine. As hard as it might be to admit it to yourselves, it is not about you! Good luck to all the young ladies playing in the Finals this week. Have a great summer.
