Hope you received it...we are still waiting for distribution from our village, after being promised it three days ago. Oh, the powers that be...
Wonder what the reason for delay is gonna be this time...and why it can't be posted on HorizonWeb under the docs section is beyond ridiculous.

My understanding for the girls at least is that some teams dropped out at the last minute forcing divisional realignments and scheduling changes. While unforseen issues are to be expected, the lack of a schedule less than one week before the season start boils down to poor planning and administration.

Nassau PAL is a joke. The rosters are out and the age of some of these kids make me laugh. Their strict rule under no circumstance are 2nd graders allowed to play up but a 3rd grade team can have a kid born in 2/04 or a 4th grade team can have a kid born in 03. I am glad they are looking out for the kids

It goes by grade not by birthday so if a girl is born Dec 2003 then she is def a 4th grader because she probably didn't make the cutoff for that school district. NO one knows the situtaion stop assuming all towns are like this. Most are fair.

Unfortunately, there will be a bunch of games canceled this opening weekend. Most of the grass fields weren't really ready for play because of the crazy winter, and they will be getting a couple inches of rain tomorrow and Sunday.

No I am talking about putting kids in danger. I know it goes by grade and not age but having a kid 2 years older than some can be a problem. Like I said a joke. They specifically state 2nd graders can't play up but once a kid is in 3rd he can play against someone 2 years older.
It's about common sense people that's all

there are no age rules in lacrosse. PAL coaches break the rules because they are just following the dishonest travel programs who lie all the time to win those bogus titles

Thank you I'm going by US Lacrosse Rules (not PAL - they may be different). 2 yellows does not equal a red. A red is out for this game and the next game. 2 yellows is out for the rest of the game but can play in the next game. A red card does not mean you have to play down the entire game. Playing man down is based on the total number of cards you receive. Should a team receive its fourth card (yellow or red) of the game they will play short for the remainder of that game, including overtime, and an additional player will be removed from the game and enter the penalty area for each subsequent card received. The carded player will serve the entire two or four-minute penalty time. When the penalty time expires, she may return to the game only if she has not been suspended (second yellow card) or ejected (red card) and only if another player leaves the field using normal substitution procedures.

Thank you From the PAL rules: Issuance of Cards Player receiving yellow will serve a 2-minute, a red card will serve a 4 minute penalty and the team will play short below each restraining line. A player who receives a yellow or red card will serve the penalty in their team bench area. All penalties are non-releasable. Anyone receiving 2 yellow cards in the game will be suspended from further participation in the game. Anyone receiving a Red card will be suspended from further participation in that game and the team’s next game. Should a team receive its fourth card of the game they will play short for the remainder of the game, and an additional player will be removed from the game for each subsequent card received. Any card given to a player or head coach will count toward their team’s cumulative total. The carded player will serve the 2 minute penalty time and she may return to the game only if she has not been suspended or ejected and only if another player leaves the field using normal substitution procedures. If the coach is carded, the coach must designate a player who will serve the penalty. If the player receiving the yellow card is the goalkeeper and there is no dressed goalkeeper for the team, the goalkeeper may remain in the game and the coach will designate another field player on the field to take the penalty. If a Coach is issued a red card, the coach will be ejected from the playing area, and reported to the PAL Ethics Chair. If there is no replacement coach, the game will end and the other team will be declared the winner. Umpires have the authority to issue a “Post Game” Red Card to any player or coach for actions that would have

Does Nassau PAL allow guest players? Can a player be registered in Suffolk PAL play for a team there and also be registered for a Nassau PAL team?
Thank you in advance if anybody knows the answers.

The policy for players is they have to play for the town they reside in or get a release from their town organization. If your town does not have a PAL or a team for that grade, then the player can look at an alternative PAL club. When the teams are registered, the powers at be are suppose to check where the players reside as well as the age of the players.
Does that always happen? Can you get around these policies? How important is it to you for your son/daughter to play on a different YOUTH team than where you live?

Happens all the time. Just get a look at the Mineola PAL roster. Granted some towns surrounding Mineola do not have their own PAL organizations and thats where they play. I do know for a fact that our thwma which has ots own PAL has lost several players to Mineola. When I asked our coach he said they wanted to play with other friends and he wasnt going to pursue it. I thought kids had to play within their school district if they had a PAL.

It's about common sense people that's all I happen to agree with you. And if an older kid uses his larger mass and speed to break little junior's leg, then people would understand what you mean by dangerous. There should be an age cutoff, not by grade.

Nassau County Youth Football League enforces a strict age cut-off for football. In our town we even have an age cut-off for baseball......And yet the hold backs persist and are even arguably encouraged by the rules in lacrosse. A year makes a big difference in youth sports, particularly when there is contact involved. HS and college are a different thing, but this should not be going on when they are young kids.

There are no rules in lacrosse. Even the youth national championships in Florida had top guns and YJ's trading barbs on illegal players. Its an absolute joke. Big money being made on the travel lacrosse CRACK. Tighten up the ages and issue player cards!!!

There were no illegal players in the championship tournament in Florida.. And birth certificates were collected and checked prior to games being played.. That tourney is U15.. If you are not 16 by the cut off date you can play.. Regardless of high school grad year. Player cards would be fine for PAL, or travel though.

Why? Some towns don!t have PAL programs or their townPAL team ends at middle school, so programs are allowed to accept players from other towns as long as a team in the players home town doesn't! Exist in that grade.

They can take that kid and roster them onto their nassau pal team which allows them to play both leagues.
