I think he came from team 91 He did play for team 91 on their A team last summer and was actually put on 91's C team which is the white team this year after tryouts this year. I wasnt at the game but hope he played really well. Great kid deserved better from 91. TLI has added a great goalie.

Please stop all of this - it is not worthy of the great game played. This degrades the entire experience. Both teams - ALL PLAYERS - played their collective hearts out -

it was really nice to see the boys play a great competitive game. It was even nicer to see that off the field they are all friends. the rivalry between these teams and many others are caused by the parents, not the kids. its time to move on and keep it positive for our sons and let them enjoy playing lacrosse. BTW, the TLI goalie played amazing!!

That the goalie from team Long Island was put on 91 C teamm white after this years tryout was a joke. Come on, from the A team to the C team. Those who saw him play on Saturday know he's not a C team goalie. His play speaks for itself. He deserved better from 91. It just pays to know people. No one is knocking the kids just pointing out how good a player is screwed because of politics. Hey lets see if he gets the phone call from SL to come back after how well he played yesterday.

The family of said goalie is much happier, a better fit for him and his family, no hard feelings. How lucky we all are to have these " problems" It is a privilege to watch our sons play such a great game and have friendly competition. These boys are all amazing. money can't buy talent or what comes from hard work

It was basically decided before tryouts who were moving up from the B team and recruited from other teams to play on Extreme. Some are OK with their kid riding the pine. Excellent - we're back to making fun of dads' businesses and helping with helmets to express our hatred of 91. Here is some light to shed on 91 Xtreme player selections - they played nine games this Fall and won all nine, beating Dukes, Express and TLI along with six others. They don't duck anyone and it is a great group of boys who play hard and as a team. The boys you are criticizing as political picks each contributed in meaningful ways in games this Fall. Hate the coaches and directors all you want, but it's hard to criticize the team they put on the field this Fall - Xtreme beat everyone. It just sheds a light on all the BS in team selection. Ok no one is making fun of anyones way of life just what people are doing to make teams. Teams were pre determined. Players who were on other teams last year were invited to the private tryouts that were held for returning players. Told they basically had a spot before tryouts. Certain favors are done for those who are in good favor or standing with certain directors. Those who know and are on the team know this. No one I mean no one is saying that the primary players are not some of the best out there, its just that there are secondary players that are not. Favors were done to get on the team. Families of 91 Extreme know that certain players get the majority of playing time. In majority I mean like 90%. Players are of age to see that better players were over looked its a shame. The Team Long Island goalie was just that type of example.

Or what does a parent have to do to get their son on the team. parent cuts are very simple, if your kid is a top player and you pay your bills you can be the biggest jack [lacrosse] you want. if your kid is middle of the pack and cutting him will not hurt the team then have a couple of cocktails in the hotel bar and tell the coaches wife what you really think of him. Scream at you kid the entire game telling him to do stuff that the coach does not want him to do. Call the director and complain about the coach, go to tryouts and tell everybody you were told your son already made the team and you are trying to decide if you want to play on that team.

Why would anyone want to play on that team? Sounds awful. Folks, in the years ahead you don't have to be on Extreme to get recruited to a top college. So many other options and avenues to get exposure. Quite frankly, if your son is not a starter on that team it will be very difficult to shine for the coaches in the future.... Great team, crazy scene. Good luck.

Their are parent cuts on all teams. Not just this one. A club would rather lose one player than deal with problematic parents. It happens all the time. Unfortunate for the kids. It's the players that jump from team to team year after year.

I think we are losing the point. This is about the politics and how it effects the kids. Choices are made even before tryouts who will be on teams. When players dont show up to tryouts for whatever reason but they are still put on teams. Hey its a great way to teach your kid set them up for failure. It was said it all depends on tryouts. Well if a kids doesnt come and is still put on a team. What do you call that. Then another player is on A but someone else is really good friends with the director so his kid gets the kids spot.

It appears that teams get older, try outs are really for a kid trying to break on to the scene of a certain team or organization. If coaches know kids on the their team, or kids in their organization and have watched them play throughout the season, a try out is really just a formality. Sure, every now and then there are some upsets and surprises, but for the most part, if an coaches or organization are happy with their kids, someone has to really wow them to knock an existing player out of a spot. Kids get sick, are hurt and organizations will be flexible if they know their players. If the kid makes a coveted team from another organization, and did not show for try outs, you can bet, the coach had a private try out or watched him/her over the last season and liked what they saw. in some ways- this is better than a 2 day try out, but not always fair. This happens in all select sports.

Oh boy, read the above if your looking for 'comebacks'. If you are looking for a non-political environment for your son to play a sport, as succinctly put above in someone's above 'comeback', you won't find one in any sport, including lacrosse. Try outs aren't blind, the best kids are tied up in advance by every team, the weakest kids based on the previous year's game play are playing for their spot in the try outs. The kids who don't make it often have parents who blame it on politics. Whether you like it or not, Xtreme has taken players from Express and TLI over the years, and no one from Xtreme has voluntarily left to go to those organizations. Xtreme also beat those two teams (and everyone else) this Fall with their current roster. Call it political, but the results on the field are undeniable.

So is the fact that multiple kids on the team should be playing 2017 according NYS school cut off dates. No big deal, but it is interesting that when you played the one team (TEAM LI) that actually goes by US lax rules you barely won. We all know that you have at least some kids that wouldn't make the team LI team because they're too OLD. Don't come back on here and say it's not so. Former players on the team KNOW how old everyone is. No big deal, it works for the MD and PA clubs, so have at it.

These teams are well established and you can't expect wholesale changes. Someone is going to have to be a proven player to break a AA teams line up. As far as Xtreme taking the other teams players and no one voluntarily leaving, You would think that with all these superstar defections there would be a much bigger gap in results an quality of play on the field. Last summer you lost to express (an beat them) and last week you beat a depleted TLI team by a goal in a game that could have gone either way.No excuses a loss is a loss, but Let's not pound our chests. Like an earlier poster wrote, ALL these kids on all three teams are talented and play their hearts out! It just seems that it is so important for the Xtreme parents to want to separate themselves and tell everyone how many games they won and who they beat! don't get me wrong EVERYONE wants to win, and it is important to teach the kids to compete, but it is comical how many (not all) of the Xtreme parents think that if they lose or win it makes their kid any better or worse. Their all great kids and great teams there is no need to advertise your so called superiority!

Old argument, well covered last year. Xtreme and TLI teams are basically the same age - Dukes and Crabs are much older than both LI teams.

The thread was pounding Xtreme coaches for political roster picks - if the picks are so political, then why is TLI 0-2 against Xtreme in last last 12 months and Express 1-3? Political picks don't seem to be hurting Xtreme's results - that is the point of mentioning them. If the team is so political, then why doesn't anyone leave - like the way kids leave TLI and Express to go to Xtreme?

I am not sure either team even bothers to play the almighty Xtreme. Everyone should just bow and forfeit at the sight of those Shiney helmets! please!!!!! But I will indulge u and answer your question. Have u noticed that half your team barley or doesn't play in close games?? Kids can't hurt u in games if they are not in there!!! If u didn't notice there wasn't an Xtreme goal scored by a long island kid in the TLI game. That being said if the kids and parents are ok with it then it's all good. Its their choice.

I am most thankful to MC and JL and all of the Express for having a great team with great parents and kids. Thank you John and Mike and I hope you had a great holiday

so if the results on the field are undeniable, and extreme is such a superpower, than why does the coach actively recruit kids from other teams? Hey, If I had a team that won every game, I would want to stick with that team. Makes sense right? so why are extreme parents worried each season that their kid is going to be kicked to the curb and replaced by a kid from another team? because that's what happens when these TLI and Express kids take their spots right? just saying...
