Agreed, the m&d vs heros game was awesome. Not affiliated either, but really enjoyed watching it, super high level lacrosse. Also watched heros vs nxt and m&d vs nxt semifinal, both games were super tight. 2029 is a pretty amazing class, a ton of talent. Because some of them should be in the 2028 class!!! Omg this YJ lost is still here, hahahaha. So YJ doesn’t have any girls born before 9/1/10 on your team? Don’t lie, we will eventually find out, lol. But I get it, you have to cope with the fact that the 2029 version of YJ is the worst in the entire program. You had a chance to come play against real teams at the natl lax fall fest, but you were probably too busy playing in a tournament that no one has heard of against teams that nobody knows. Kudos for NXT for coming down, apparently they weren’t afraid of the 4-5 summer of 2010 kids playing for heros and m&d. Not a YJ parent and I will say this... AT THIS AGE 2 to 3 girls on team who are a year older then the girls they are playing against is an advantage. Period. Also since it appears to be a lot of parents first time around it doesn't matter who holds on to the number 1 spot on US club lacrosse. The teams (top 10-12) even out by sophomore year. Will one team possibly always beat another by one or two... sure. And no my 2029 does not have anyone born before 9/1/2010 on her team. If she is a summer 2011 playing against summer 2010 that is an ADVANTAGE at this age. New flash… only one of the summer 2010s starts for M&D so stop with the excuses. Excuse for what? Bro are ok? I agree a player a year older is at an advantage. Nobody is saying that is why the team is good or competitive. You people are corny.

You might not be a YJ parent, but you are trying to cope with your kid’s team not being as good in the same manner. Between heros and m&d, there are like 5 kids born before 9/1/10, and half of those teams have 2011 bdays. The reason they are better is because they are better athletes and work harder than your kid’s team. And you could move both of those teams up to 2028 in their entirety and they would still be top 6-7. If this age gap was such an issue, why don’t the 2011s drag those teams down? And are you serious that a June 2010 kid has an inherent advantage over a December 2010 kid? Lmao. Why don’t we do this, since it is a team sport after all: figure out the average age of your kid’s team, and we can compare that to the avg age of m&d, heros, and cm. Deal?

Remember whatever advantage the kid gets being older at a younger old is pretty much gone by high school. At younger ages the difference is generally size but that levels out by HS. In some cases that size becomes a disadvantage because one relies on using the size to just muscle through plays and don’t focus on learning the skills. As the others equal out in size, those that focused on skills pass the other kids. My advice is just focus on your own daughter’s development and making sure she enjoys playing so she doesn’t burnout.

By this age, the top players are the top players. These kids are in 8th grade. Next year, most will be playing at the HS level with kids 4 years older than them. Historically, the top 9th graders make an impact in girls sports right away. Stop complaining about the kids ages and work to on your game. All these girls are 29s. Just play the games and stop making excuses.

No. It was said a May or June 2010 kid (yes May you read that right…M&D kids) is a huge advantage over the Summer 2011 kids who are on age. What’s fool is being a May or June and not starting against girls over a year younger. So I guess you have a point there, maybe it didn’t work out so well for them to be a holdback. Double hold back coming next? Why not try again.

You really think you could take those teams and have them play in the 2028 division and they would be top 6-7 ???? wow you gave me a really good laugh. And nobody said a June 2010 kid compared to a December 2010 kid.
The advantage is a June 2010 kid compared to a June 2011 kid. My clubs 2028 team is in top 7-8. if you took one of those 28's and put them on the 2029 team they would help. Its an advantage and it helps. It's ok man..

See the post above about m&d’s top scorer, she is summer 2011 and poops on other teams regularly. As far as moving a 2028 down, it depends on the kid, obviously. Some slob from CCLax isn’t gonna make a dent on a top 2029 team. The #7 team from last year in 2028s was Pride Red. If you were to put the team back together and have them scrimmage heros, m&d, or cm, I would have my money on the 2029s. It is simply a better and deeper class. Did you know that both m&d and heros played in HS indoor leagues last winter? They absolutely boat raced everyone they played. But please continue to reply to me since you are above it all and just a super cool guy.

If they played 10 times, would probably win 4 or split down the middle and all games would be close. But I picked Pride Red because they were ranked 7th, so again, those 2029 teams would be ranked higher than Pride. You can try to deflect by pointing to better 2028 teams, but both heros and m&d will be top 5 this year, and my top 6 or 7 opinion holds up still.

Look, i understand it is hard to be wrong, but it happens to everyone at some point. The fact remains that the age difference issue is pretty much past the 2029 girls now, 95% of the top players will remain at the top, and outside of things like the annual Capital shake up, the top teams will remain the top teams. Go ice up, bud, and remember, don’t be corny and pretend that any of this matters….right?

These holdback whiners have to be SW parents. They are beginning to freak out bc this 2029 team is never going to be as good as previous SW teams, and they all signed on thinking they would cruise into top 5 once we get close to HS. Plus the always say stuff like “you must be new to this, let me tell you how recruiting and HS level club really works!”

Thanks for verifying you're some clueless LI parent (I am going to guess YJ parent). Go back to your page and make excuses for your teams lack of success against the top MD teams. Actually, maybe try to figure out how to beat 91, TG, etc. first before coming here. We will see you soon at a tournament, well actually, we won't because you have to actually register for one first.

Pride Red 28 was an excellent team at the end before splitting up who routinely came within 2 goals of the #1 team in the region, Heros 28. Additionally, none of you would beat teams 8-10, Aces, Primetime, and Monsters. And I get that M&D 29 suddenly has some new life in them, but they would not beat their 28 counterpart 4 times out of 10. Dream on. You are in for a rude awakening this summer when teams from all around the nation begin to catch up and many rising 9th graders from other regions, particularly NY, have a year of varsity under their belt. The whole landscape is going to change and it's harder and harder to be a standout. Better hit the wall now.

Deal? No I am not trying to cope because I know it doesn't matter. I am glad this is important to you which proves my point you are corny. Is this your only daughter playing club? Do you have any other daughters who have gone through all the way up to being recruited.? And who said a June 2010 has advantage over a December 2010. It was said a June 2010 compared to a June 2011 have an advantage. If I took a girl from are 2028 team and put her on the 2029 you do not think that would make a impact? And no... neither of the teams you mentioned could move up to the 2028 level and be a top 6-7 team. Saying that just shows how completely delusional you are. Yet here you are, whining about holdbacks. If it doesn’t matter, why are you wasting your time? No, I have multiple kids, my son played D1 many moons ago and I have an older daughter who is a D1 commit, so i have been through this with both genders, and you are just coping. Pride Red? Surely the M&D or Hero’s 2029 teams would be able to beat the 2028s from their own clubs considering how weak the 2028s are. Right? For sure, especially the m&d 29s vs. the 28s. M&D, Heros and throw in Coppermine will be 1,2,3. Order TBD. LI parents just can’t accept that. You are the only slob on this board. Clown. Stop embarrassing your kids and the club.

So you come on here running your mouth about mid Atlantic kids and their age. Then you get offended when mid Atlantic parents defend their kids. We may have nice rivalries here in MD but we will protect our own. I think it’s clear who the slob is. Now as for the rest. No, the top 3 teams in ‘29 can’t beat a top 15-20 ‘28 team. My DD is on one and I can own that reality. Would it be a good game sure but they aren’t winning. The top 4 teams are Heros, M&D, Coppermine and NXT. Agree on order TBD. Not sure if that makes me a slob for just stating the facts. But if so, I will own that too. Now, we can move on. Any tournaments this weekend? Who’s playing where and how do the matchups look?

Proud to represent top club in the age group for the last 2 years of USClub Rankings. And there has only been 2. So seems like it’s fair to say they are the top team. Maybe you didn’t like that I included M&D and coppermine but they were 2 and 3 the last two years. And I’m humble enough to admit M&D or Coppermine could jump us this year. Seems like you just can’t handle the truth my friend. I still don’t understand why you continue to just stir the pot in this forum.

Lol, sure. I’ve been around this forever now, time will prove me correct, I’ve heard the same BS for years. The 2029 class will have the most 4 and 5 stars since 2024s, book it now. And new life in them??? M&d 2029s were 4th last year, haha.

My 2029 doesn’t play for any of those teams, but I am correct. No, I get off on triggering delusional, pilled-up wine moms who think their kids are awesome when they are not. There won’t be this big shift come HS, the top teams will remain at top for the most part, 95% of the top kids have already been ID’d, but you just won’t have the holdback excuse anymore.

Ummm they were still #5 last year after being #3 the previous two seasons, and all of the other top 5 are the same teams going back to when rankings started for 2026s. While I don’t agree with this man’s (definitely a guy!) way of talking, he is right, the landscape didn’t change at all really. Any how….back to 2029s….some really great matchups coming up at continental cup and the chesapeake invitational but i heard that a lot of CM girls will be out for the latter w soccer. Excited to see these games!

M&d’s leading scorer is a summer 2011 kid, should she be sent down to the 2030s to protect her from these beastly summer 2010 kids??? No chance 12 is a summer 2011. Maybe you meant a summer 2010 and proves my point she should be a ‘28 and has an advantage playing on ‘29. Nice try though. On behalf of the rest of LI travel lax parents, please know that we do not hold the same beliefs and gripes as the YJ parents have. The top clubs here do not care about holdbacks and are more focused on improving and competing against top competition.

Last year: 1) YJ 2) TG 3) M&D 4) Aces 5) HG Year bf that: 1) YJ 2) Aces 3) HG 4) M&D 5) Jesters (#6 the next year) The year bf that: 1) M&D 2) Aces 3) HG 4) YJ 5) Jesters The year bf that: 1) HG 2) YJ 3) Aces 4) Jesters 5) M&D Lol, when did this huge shakeup happen with 26 class??? When exactly did “everyone else” catch up? You can lie to your 2029 and tell them that their team will magically become top tier at some point in HS, but they will eventually figure out that you just lied to them because you couldn’t deal with reality.

Ok everyone relax. Catch up means competing. Yes they went from 1/2 to 4/5. But look at the games and the scores. Teams ranked 9/10 were able to compete and get within 1 or 2. They no longer beat everyone. You are a strange little weirdo

I don’t think the poster said shake up.. they said they use to beat everyone. If you look at scores with ranked 10 to 15 teams its pretty much close games. So yes they still remained top 5 (based on strength of schedule) but games were close . And look at NXT and HHH commits.. great programs and not at the top of US club rankings.

Lol, you just can’t let it go, even when shown you’re wrong. One more time: the top 8th grade teams will remain at the top through HS, 95% of the elite players have already been ID’d (many are already 14 yo), and no, some team isn’t going to come out of nowhere and knock HG, CM, M&D, NXT, 91, TG, ES, YJ, and Integrity out of top tier. Capital might have a chance of entering that group, maybe some random natl team, but you can be as delusional as you want and we can check back on this conversation in 2029.

You are a strange little weirdo Just took your advice and checked the scores….. the teams that beat them last year have all been in top 15 since 6th grade, minus Capital, who didn’t exist until 9th. You are simply wrong, the top teams just stayed at the top, middle teams stayed in middle, and bottom tier stay in basement.

Nobody said take over and who said my kids team is not top 10 already?? They are.
And top 15 is not top 5. Yes the top 15 started to inch within a goal or 2. That was the point.
Never said the bottom would all if the sudden jumpy to the top.

Never said the bottom would all if the sudden jumpy to the top. I think the original point was that teams get better and catch up to so that they can compete and sometimes win against top midatlantic teams. And though teams who were at the top typically stay somewhere in that vicinity, there can be a shuffling. Look at the 28s, Coppermine was dominate going into the year, had a so/so summer by their standards and lost a core of their athletes. On the other hand, Yellow Jackets had been hanging out around 8th and losing to most top teams heading into the year, but won almost all their games over the summer and came out ranked 1st. No one is saying the strong teams won't remain strong. However, gone are the days of blow outs and guaranteed wins against most out of state opponents. This is the year when you start to see that shift, even if it takes until the summer to be obvious. You'll see that games against teams like Mass Elite, Grizzlies, HHH, Monsters, Steps, Aces (these are just examples of clubs with typically strong teams) become less and less sure bets. This is why the assertion that 29 teams could consistently win against 28 teams ranked 7-10th is misguided, it discounts how good teams ranked 7-20th become in the older years.

Never said the bottom would all if the sudden jumpy to the top. 2026 HG lost last year to the exact same teams they lost to since 6th grade: M&D, Jesters, YJ, etc. The same teams that they smashed in 6th grade continued to get smashed through MS and HS. The only difference is that they played almost exclusively teams last year that had already been competitive with them since 6th grade.
