Where is St. Mary’s playing? No NHLS? Let
Me guess a fall pro start tournament. Why because HC runs Prostart and lining his wallet. St Mary’s is a dumpster fire. No leadership at the school.

#Bottom feeders.

Poor St Mary's. On the downward slope. They are joining the bottom of the MIAA for next few years.

MM was a great former player. Has coached great players. Created a small fortune with lacrosse and his sons. Future Hall of Famer. However when it is all said and done the most memorable thing that will for ever be looked up on the internet will be his character displayed on the Mitchell Pehlke video acting like a child at the end of the game. It's an instant classic. At his level and stature in sports if you are not aware of how you act and how your actions are always on display, then you will be forever scrutinized and remembered for those instances that are recorded than for how you played. Do you think MM wants that out there? It's a representation of who he is directly because his life is lacrosse 24/7. The internet does not forgive. This is todays reality.

If Hall of Fame is USA Lacrosse, then I'm not sure MM makes the grade. This is the first requirement from the site.
Character Beyond Reproach
The following are areas of evaluation used to determine character beyond reproach:
▪ Practice and perpetuation of positive sportsmanship on and off the field
▪ Positive relations with peers, opponents, subordinates, and supervisors within the g

Heard McDonogh lost it's big sports donor over disagreements with their woke policies. Supposedly this is impacting their recruiting and ability to board kids.

How many freshman does a coach typically have/want on their Varsity roster? If the freshman is not playing at all does it make sense to keep them on a Varsity squad?

Big Donor will lose out then. Woke at McD is there to stay. The admin and staff are all in.

I do find it amazing that 40-50% of parents dont agree with policies, yet the admin does almost 100% their outlook on things. But as the admin and teachers proclaim at McD, we are the most caring , tolerant and diverse people you will meet, well as long as you agree with us !

I believe it varies by school and year to year, but normally a handful.

Re: the playing time I don't think there is a one sized fits all answer. You could make an argument the player would develop more practicing with varsity, or a valid counter argument that the playing time they'd get on JV would matter more for their development. I think it's one of those things that's probably case by case and requires an open and honest conversation with both the player and the coach.

Big donors never lose, they just move on. We didn’t even consider McD or Severn for that reason. They can do what they want and I’m sure some parents love it, just not for us.

Agreed. Most of the impact players will be on the field freshman year, lots of examples. Some kids need time to grow into it, Pat Spencer for example.

Correct, Depends on so many factors . Most famous example in MIAA of not playing Varsity until 11th grade was Pat Spencer.

Parent of 8th grader currently at an MIAA "A" division private. We are poking around other schools for high school to make sure we are making the right choice. In addition to talking to coaches, we've been attending the various schools "prospect days". We've been to Loyola Blakefield, Calvert Hall and Gilman thus far. I'm not sure how much recruiting is going on outside of those prospect days but the turnout at a couple were awful. I don't know how these other schools are going to compete. Most of the 8th grade top talent is either currently at or planning on attending Spalding, Boys Latin, St. Paul's and Calvert Hall. Cupboard looks pretty thin at Gilman, McDonogh, Loyola Blakefield and Severn.

Yes, a couple schools still have prospect days left.

Not sure when St Mary's is. It used to be around Thanksgiving.

John Carroll's is in early December.

The style and punctuation of these comments seem like they're straight from a Russian bot farm. Which isn't to say they're from a Russian bot farm. But to those posting this drivel, either upgrade the algorithm for your bots, or look inward and realize we DID land on the moon, 9/11 WASN'T an inside job, and your unhappiness ISN'T caused by trannies working with the Illuminati.

Yea but he is a HOF laxer that no one likes. Nothing like watching those awesome youtube documentaries where his team finishes 4th or worse each time and they talk about how they're the greatest club of all time.....AND THEN each year he gets in fights with first the coaches and then the kids. Great videos. Imagine what we dont see? No character whatsoever. Great player, terrible person and pathetic individual. CM or MM?
