I have a real question for the group.

2025 is the LWSC year for this age group. The tournament is extremely expensive, starting with a required qualifying tournament (normal price for a weekend tournament $2200), followed by the national event in PA that’s anywhere from 3-5x the normal tournament fees (priced per player and coach at $495/pp in past years - roughly $10-12k per team plus travel). For the first time this event conflicts with another significant event on the lacrosse calendar, Naptown.

Our club has already made the call and we are out of the LWSC game and headed to Naptown. Any others having the same conversations with your club directors?

Naptown isn’t the same as it used to be. Great facilities and an overall good time but it’s now turned into the the National Team Holdback Bowl.

I give you credit for trying to ask and expecting a real, mature answer....most likely going to get "that's because your club is scared!"

Can someone explain how the LWSC qualifiers work in terms of moving on? How well do you have to do to advance our of your region?

Depends how many teams enter in each qualifier. Not many enter from west or south. In the north and east regionals, roughly half the teams qualified last year.

I believe it varies from region to region. The east region has always had the most teams quality due to the amount of teams that attended the qualifier, my older son’s year I think 9 made it through. While other regions only have 1 or 2 teams since the qualifier is significantly smaller.

Doubtful anyone has that conversation as the Directors see LWSC as a huge marketing hammerhead for themselves so you need to go along to get along. You are saving yourself a lot of time and money so maybe be grateful? My son did the World Series and the insane number of extra practices and trainings $$$$ and pressure leading up to it made him not enjoy the entire season. It became work. Hope your son doesn’t feel like he is missing out. There are some fun moments for kids but I don’t think overall it was worth it.

Sounds like it’s tons of money so that the club owners can benefit from the exposure of the team wins. My sons club coach so far said he would prefer not to do it. Hopefully it stays that way.

poor look for a long island team ,
pulling kids from out of state already and being older is twice as bad

tons of kids on long island take what’s here and develop
them

You’d think. It only gets worse as they get older.

Based on score looks like cyclones beat the taz badly. I didn’t watch the game curious to know the thoughts from someone that was there

Jesters are not good. Duke’s had just lost to 91 after the refs gave the Cyclones the game…
No one gave 91 a game outside of dukes - that should’ve been the championship

Taz out of state kid had 2 of 3 goals….

Think they need more out of state kids to win more

Being out of state and older is a joke ….makes sense why they aren’t doing World Series.

Things like this ruin youth sports , all they care about is winning
If you are a top club how about develop the kids you have

Taz goalie is best player. Kept scores low.

Dukes have 3-4 players who should be listed as doubtful for passing age verification

Refs are never good. Can't blame them for a loss. Ever.

Not a Duke’s or 91 guy but did watch with my so. - won’t say the refs gave 91 the win but they got a lot of questionable calls on a day refs mostly kept flags in their pockets (at least for the games l my son played)
Thought it would be a blowout, think 91 went up 4-0 but ended up being game of the day. Both teams are solid.
Gonna be a great lax season, gentlemen (and Moms)
