Hearing there is a coaching change happening in the IAAM.
Lots of parents will be happy.
Dead wood appears to be headed out the door, finally.

Anyone leave Gerstell besides former coach’s daughter (Bryn Mawr)?

The Old AD at NDP was just let go. 2 years before her set retirement.

Odd that it would happen so quickly and suddenly, out of the blue.

Wonder what's happening at NDP?

This is a lacrosse forum. Any changes with "The Old AD at NDP" is totally unrelated to lacrosse.

Fool changes? What does that even mean?

If it has nothing to do with the lacrosse program, coach, or players, no one cares.

I’m still waiting to hear about all the big transfer news that someone “knew was coming and everyone would find out.” I know of one varsity player changing schools and that’s it. She changed for personal reasons.

this site changes “notIntelligent” to “fool”

and an athletic director is absolutely related to every sport at a school, including lacrosse

Will they ever change to the point where they have less than 40 girls on varsity lacrosse?

what else is there besides:
MDS & Mercy headed to B conference
New RPCS coach was a JC assistant
MV assistant is gone
NDP AD is gone
Gerstell HC is gone, leading to transfers to BMS, RPCS, SPSG
SM got a 2026 M&D Black player from SP&P
McD got a 2026 Yellowjackets player from Cali

Think there was only one at the time with JB. JB knows the game well and has done a good job of managing and developing alot of talent with his club teams in the past with M&D and now with Coppermine. He does tend to have a bad reputation but I think that is the challenge of having a strong team with only so many playing minutes. Either way, good for him to not have to work with MV coach in the future based just on BR reputation. Also heard that MV is adding a fresh/soph team this year to go along with JV and Varsity. Wonder what that will do to all the kids and parents who got playing time commitments from MV coach as one of the reasons they picked there.

He seemed to live and breathe that MV job, so interesting spin to call this a plus for him. Think his reputation has to do with more than PT problems, but he does seem to know the game. Will be very interesting to see how MV manages their talent. They already had a good team and recruited in a lot of girls @ 27 & 28 who have high expectations. Just don't see how they could have room for everyone at the top.

Never ceases to amaze me people that jump on the JB train. I'd argue he and BR are made for each other with their attitudes.

JB is actually a good coach and I'll give him kudos because he is not a parent coaching his kid or coaching a different age group at the club where his kid(s) play. But he lets his personal ideas of who he wants succeeding on the field cloud who is actually producing and it leads to frustration and hard feelings. It's a trap that a lot of coaches fall into. If the sun shines on your kid it's great and you love that coach. But the amount of damage done to girls' careers when a coach deems them not worthy or not good enough is devastating. JB falls in that category. That's part of the reputation

Couldn’t agree more. Good coach whose fault is promoting the “it” girls who are pushed by their Lax Momma. Then when it comes to final tournaments, the girls just dont perform.

That M&D Black 2024 team could have been one of the best ever, but several strong players left before 8th grade because of this very reason.

I was the one who made the minutes comment and still stand by it. His last team had 8 of the top 50 ranked players in the country along with 4/5 other girls that are clearly good and going to top programs this year. There simply isn't room on the field for that much talent. He either helped develop these girls or recruited them and somehow kept them together despite the lack of playing time but either way that's a talent for a coach. If your kid isn't playing and they want more, there is no obligation to stay. Either stay on the team and stop complaining or switch teams to find what you deem as a better situation.
As for the comparison to JB and BR, I would also disagree with the similarities except for their need to win. IMO JB doesnt have the best social skills with parents or the girls and often tries to use the rulebook to win(which is fine but petty) but seems to really know the sport well and how to get the best from their players. IMO BR has great social skills and the parents and girls love him (at least in the short term) and passion for the sport obviously but has a temper that shouldn't be in youth sports and tries to manipulate the game through relationships with the refs and teaching more flopping and diving than you see at a belly flop competition on a singles carnival cruise line heading to the Dominican Republic

Where exactly did those strong players go? And not sure the team got much worse as I just looked up their Sophomore year numbers and looks like they only lost 1 game that entire year to Heroes.
