They didn’t take him (91) because they wanted him ,, they are putting him on the shelf. 91/express take kids on the roster just to keep them off the field on other teams it’s an age old ploy put kids on the roster just so they don’t help another team. Why anyone at this point would put their kid on a team with dad coaches I have no idea you won’t win in that situation.

Which team does not have dad coaches? Igloo has dad coaches. Rebels has 3 of them. 91 has 3. Express has had dad coaches all along, the other name was marketing.
Meaning why would you put yourself in a position on a team to compete at the same position as a dad coaches son. 98% of the time you will loose in that situation. That’s where the issue lies with Dad coaches .

There are teams that don’t have Dad coaches and teams that don’t have Dad coaches at the position your kid may play. For 5K you shouldn’t have to deal with Dad coaches. Beat kids don’t always play or even tryout.

Most teams do have dad coaches because who would do this otherwise? No skin in game unfortunately means not very motivated. Plus and minuses for both.

If you're with a real club, coaches get paid.

You need to find a new team if that matters to you. My son has never had a daddy coach.

With the new additions express still won’t be able to touch 91. Last year 91 had won 9-2 and something similar the year before. Those two goals they scored? By a 28 who is now gone. Those few new additions won’t be able to help much if you can’t win a faceoff and your defense @ChillLaxin!!

Keep talking smack big mouth! Express and even Rebels will prove otherwise. Too bad your son won’t be seeing the field much this year and next year will be passing out water bottles and towels at tournaments. Only way 91 beats Express and Rebels this year is by bringing the Venom reclass players to those games. Without them, games will be within 1-2 goals either way on any given day.

Wow, bold predictions there, Nostradamus! I’m sure the Express and Rebels have been training hard... at making excuses for another year of mediocrity. And hey, let’s not underestimate the crucial role of water bottles and towels; hydration is key when you're getting smoked on the field. As for 91 needing reclass players to win, it’s a cute theory—but we don’t need extras when the usual roster does just fine beating the brakes off Express year after year. Keep dreaming, though. It's nice to have a hobby when the reality is a little too rough to handle.

I get express and 91 but the rebels are not part of this conversation. Please stop cheerleading. Rebels will lose to both by more than 10.

Take it easy cheerleader dad/mom! There’s only 1-2 parents on that team that have earned the right to boast and one is too busy getting ready for College Fall ball and the other is trying to figure out if his son will drop down and join his reclass teammates.

I believe express has a 3 or 4 former 2028’s on their current 2029 roster. So I would ease up on the 91 reclass chatter for the time being.

Rebels dads might have the biggest mouths on long island. Acting like they didn’t have 110 kids on their roster the previous year and still weren't in the top 3 conversation on long island.

I don't think anyone can use last year for comparison - look at where standings wound up at the end of the summer: Chaos (5), Igloo (12), Moose (22), Express (28), Rebels (31). Bashing and promoting one club over the other based on last year is a waste of time. What a difference a year will make. Anyone want to make some pre-season predictions? Express, Chaos, Rebels, Moose, Igloo?

Anything Rebels is suspect. They played the entire season with multiple 28’s on the roster.

They didn’t. They upgraded at goalie. The other pick ups were back ups and multi-club hoppers.
The 2 big time players were already there, the left attack and the big right middie. Both are excellent and would start on any team on LI.

Rebels can finally boast about being the 3rd best team on LI this season. However, the gap between them and the top 2 will be as far from Montauk to Manhattan !

Not sure I follow, scraps of what? Tournament t-shirts? Sure there might be 2 dominant teams but I think you'll see players from other teams do just fine; even if all 60 kids on the Express roster get D1 offers.

Also remember more than half the kids on Express right now won't be there in 3 years when it matters.

A good portion of the kids starting on 91 and Express will be replaced the next two seasons. That’s just how it works. Those two teams will be in different bracket. Nothing wrong with Rebels, Igloo and Moose, teams and kids will be fine, but it’s not on the same level. End of the day, who cares, just do what’s good for your kid. Above it just how it works.
