Talk about a waste of $ these days...UA150 is busted.

How is it busted?

Once CR started focusing on the $$$ and not the product, it went south quickly. Had to pay coaches just to come (which he needed to anyway to coach the teams). And he gets D2 and D3 coaches to fill those voids. Only local coaches, for the most part come, to recruit and when that started to happen, about 7 +/- years ago, talent dropped off big time, tons of B team kids (you basically got in with a note from your mom). Hence BUSTED.

You obviously didnt get an invite,,Thats on you

It has ALWAYS been D2 & D3 coaches that coach the team.....there are D1 coaches that come and watch. This is not new. My daughter played 2 years a long time ago

There's A girls in B teams and B girls in A teams. Just because there are B team girls in this event does not mean they are not deserving of being there.

Also, Juniors Open started on the same week. That means you have close to 400 girls playing in an invite only event. There aren't close to 400 elite girls in any class so there will be B and C players in both JO and UA150

sure, but plenty of open spots since a level players weren't going any longer due to the fact that coach attendance was dismal.

First set of UA150 invites went out, talent looks very questionable. Has this event really fallen that far on hard times?

Nice try. Is your goal to disparage the players or the event? Either way, you're wrong. There were quite a few recognizable names from top 10 teams, and plenty of players who are likely deserving who you don't know. So far as the event goes, it's the first wave of an event that takes place next summer, there's still a ton of time for people to apply and be accepted.

Not sure what you're seeing as there are quite a few BIC attendees from Summer 2024 and invites for 2025 on the first wave. Perhaps your DD wasn't selected and you wouldn't know this!

Not PP, but a BIC attendee and only see a few players from that event. In years past the UA150 invites were done all at once, looks like Robinson has made changes.

UA realizes they are falling off a little bit and tried to get this first wave out to force girls to decide between their event and JO (which is on the exact same days this summer)
by having a deadline that was before most JO acceptances were posted. They are also hoping that posting these names would encourage more girls to apply. There are definitely good players on the list but I think the 2027's from last year were not impressed and most did not reapply.

BIC has an application process or basically an invite from attending last year...are you saying she made it and you didn't even apply??

As for PP, I can't imagine many MD families will be going to the BIC event in Florida when there are plenty right around MD/DE. If your daughter wants a better shot of getting in have her sign up for Deemer clinics, that is $ more well spent (strong correlation for girls who pay for his clinics and get invited to BIC) that spending it flying to Florida for a day.

What are the Deemer clinics that are referenced above? Are you implying that BIC is a pay to play event based on attending other paid trainings and events?

Deemer runs small group clinics in the Baltimore area weekly in the fall (happening right now)...if you were to attend these clinics you would see a strong correlation between the girls there and those that are invited to the BIC summer event. Are there many girls invited to BIC that don't pay for these small group clinics? Of course

I think you have to sign up for the all the fall sessions which makes it real expensive for a "clinic". I have heard they are good. Probably attracts the top talent around the area.

BIC is worth the dough. Quality experience with great instruction. Down the line there is much more too it and it helps!!! My older one was at a lesser known public school and the competition level helped her get to her best game. Wouldnt miss it for my daughter at this age.

Curious about first wave of UA invites. Some great players on roster, but also a number of top teams bottom players. Were the top players not invited or did they turn down the invite hoping for JOs? Have they not applied to UA? Next wave of invites will be interesting. Also insane a player has one week to commit to an event taking place 10 months later. It’s like a door to door salesman pressure.

Have you seen any of the invite groups? You have read cliff notes too much and missed quite a bit in life. Keep taking the short cuts and enjoy mediocrity. Unless you know from experience, you know nothing.

Juniors Open application process opened in August. Invites were sent out today for "all accepted applicants" but technically the application window does not close until the end of October I am assuming to fill in with girls depending on how many in the first round accept/decline. Second wave of UA invites also went out.

Not sure if we will ever really know. UA gave a quick turnaround on purpose to try and jump ahead of JO but I am assuming if you are a top player accepted by UA you could have leveraged an early bid from JO and therefore not committed to UA. Many girls in the UA first wave offers stuck in the middle/limbo worried that if they didn't accept they would miss out on both. JO offers came out today so I guess once rosters come out we will see where the top talent landed. Also take into consideration UA is much closer for MD families without overnight stays and although it is hard to believe if you are reading these boards, but not every player/parent thinks they need to sign up for every lax event offered.

If the Juniors Open event is so great and getting exposure, why does their application site and process @ChillLaxin? You'd think for a $100 app fee they would hire more than a 3rd grader to build their site.

Invites were sent out today for "all accepted applicants" but technically the application window does not close until the end of October I am assuming to fill in with girls depending on how many in the first round accept/decline. Second wave of UA invites also went out.

If the Juniors Open event is so great and getting exposure, why does their application site and process @ChillLaxin? You'd think for a $100 app fee they would hire more than a 3rd grader to build their site.

Petty and jealous seem to be words that the girls use to describe you.Bet you think the same.

Yawn

I believe most have already been sent. There aren't many offers left based on the registered players for my DD's position compared to last year's roster size.

Are you talking about fall 2024 or summer 2025?

This is not accurate. Additionally the roster sizes increase.

Assuming its still 8 teams, I think BIC is pretty close to done.

The position my daughter plays is 87% filled if the numbers are compared to the rosters from last year. There may be about 5-10 spots left.

For BIC do you need to apply the minute applications open? Seems fast to complete rosters. Or does BIC pretty much have the girls picked before application season begins?

I’m sure there is a few around but most of the invites went out in August and not many since.
