When no one else is playing it’s easy to find targets. Other then madlax and crabs who else was playing this weekend? From what I saw on TM, crabs struggled the first day but handled their games on the second. Easy to find faults when observing from the couch. Any other teams able to compete at nlf and succeed? Next level, hawks, preds, 91, fca, tc?

So now that everyone is done for the year, here's where things ended up (for Spring and Summer):
Legends/Crabs: 18-13-1, Wins over top 30 teams (3) -- Resolute Black (#14), Madlax (#16), 91 Colorado (#28).
FCA: 7-16-1, Wins over top 30 teams (0).
Predators: 11-10, Wins over top 30 teams (0).
91 MD: 8-13, Wins over top 30 teams (1) Laxachusetts Black (#26).
Posters and haters can take these things and spin them however they want, but these are taken from the reported scores and records.
Tryouts should be wrapped up for everyone by the end of the week.
The big questions this week:
1. Do any of the new teams get it together -- Shuckers, True Hoco, True Harco, Red Hots? 2. How many holdbacks show up at Crabs? 3. Outside of replacing coaches, what does FCA do to fix things from this past season? 4. Will Predators keep and get new players good enough to stay in Elite? 5. Who does 91 MD replace its top middie with -- is it time for fly-ins? 6. Will DC Express get enough to move in to Elite?
Let the madness begin!

a post with facts and logic! thank you well done!
one thing is for certain, everyone has a new team by the end of the week and despite our best efforts to forecast the future we won’t know who really has what until HoCo 25.
Maybe not huge changes on the starters, but as the boys develop and cary more muscle depth becomes key, they can’t play the entire game as in the past.

Let the madness begin! Guessing most of those teams pull from the 28s this season because of the vicinity to private schools in the area.

Every team will lose. Some loses are tough. The previous poster, is pretty much saying that Preds can’t win most games in the hoco. Yes they beat legends. Teams lose. No excuses here. However this poster (who seems to be a Preds parent) has really down played the efforts of their team. Preds is a decent mid level team with some big wins and bad loses. All teams have gone through this.

Hey Preds Dad -- remember your Pre-season Hoco prediction for this past Spring? If not, I found it:
Hawks. Madlax NL Predators True Fca Legends 91
Here's the actual results:
True Chesapeake (7-0) Hawks (5-2) Madlax (5-2) Next Level (4-3) Legends (4-3) 91 (2-5) FCA (1-6) Predators (0-7)

Enough of the holdback @ChillLaxin please. Can we focus on summer tournaments? A lot of top teams playing in Crabfeast and Naptown. I believe both are "age verified" events.
Latest Rankings showing top teams.........
11. Madlax 18. Next Level 20. Hawks 22. True Chesapeake 46. FCA 49. Crabs/Legends 62. Team 91 MD 77. True NOVA Black 91. Preds These rankings are so flawed: - On face of it....Crabs 2029 had a great weekend. Beat number 5 team in country twice (Red Hots) and Eclipse "b" team over past two days. Deeper dive shows the Red Hots were a shell of themselves probably due to most of their players being with their primary clubs this weekend. Red Hots lost 12-2 today to ADVNC and both FCA & Preds handled Eclipse easily whereas Crabs struggled to squeak by after trailing the entire game. Crabs benefited from a very easy draw at their own tourney -- and will climb in rankings. But there doesn't appear to be any real difference between FCA, Team 91MD, Preds & Crabs. On any given day, any of those will beat any other - although there is a very wide range in the rankings between them. - True NOVA is number 77. But they have only played two teams ranked in top 100 (numbers 61 & 86) - and lost to both. They have feasted on teams ranked 150 - 390. Would love to see them play someone more competitive - does anyone know if they have any more tourneys? To follow up on this with respect to True NOVA and their results in NXT a few weekends ago. They played - Nationals LC - lost 12-3. Were down 8-0 at half and sort of played even with Nationals in 2nd half. Whether Nationals took their foot off the gas or NOVA started to figure it out is certainly up for debate. - Georgia 3d - lost 9-8. Started off slow and down 4-0 after 1st quarter. Good tight game. Lost their best defender (broke his ankle in the game in 1st half) and best face-off guy (didn't go to tournament). But, depth is part of the game so it is what it is. - 2KL - won 12-2. - 91 South - lost 7-5. Started off slow and down 4-1 after 1st quarter. After that tight game. Had ball down 5-6 but threw it out of bounds with about 30 seconds to go. When team pressed out to get it back 91 went down and scored on fastbreak. So certainly an issue with team catching up to talent/speed of top teams needs to addressed.

Let the madness begin! Guessing most of those teams pull from the 28s this season because of the vicinity to private schools in the area. Relatively few MIAA 2028s are reclassing to 2029 this year, and of those who are, I'm not sure if their birth dates will allow them to play with 2029 clubs or not. More importantly, particularly 91, FCA, and Crabs, will pull from far outside their local zip code to add kids who do not attend practice during the spring season. And if you think it's bad in 8th grade, boy will you enjoy 9th grade. One of the 91MD teams has a D1 commit who attends a New Hampshire boarding school. See you at the tournaments my guy! I keep hearing parents (or is it coaches pretending to be parents) yapping about "loyalty" this time of year but if a holdback a foot taller than your son shows up, and your son is already 3rd line, see ya buddy. Starting in 8th grade you do not see small players in Elite, and relatively few in AAA. Sure some of it is holdbacks, but a bigger reality is that your "elite" middie has a doppleganger within 40 miles who plays just as well and is 6 inches taller.

What color and frequency helmets are you seeing at tryouts this week? that really tells the story. Baltimore/Annapolis: Kind of surprisingly (serious, no sarcasm), seeing Instagram Clippers helmets very frequently and at multiple age groups from 2027 on down. Some appear to be solid, aspirational elite players whose parents maybe were surprised that Kyle Harrison didn't personally offer them free skills coaching. Others clearly have delusional parents from Clippers B teams, the kids are not keeping up at other tryouts they attend. The helmets are bright blue and easy to see. Surprised not to see many: Hawks, Predators, Harford County Rec Club helmets. Always present in some number: True, Crabs, FCA. Especially as cuts come down this week for FCA and Crabs.

Well. Will the new additions and coaching make the difference for FCA. Seems like they had lots of talent but no direction last year. Who knows? Speaking of changes, what are the reports on Maryland tryouts? Who will be better or worse next season?

Dukes goalie is moving to the already stacked Fusion Futures team, so is one of their reclassing 28s. Not sure that kid will learn any semblance of maturity playing on that squad, unfortunately Why would they mess with the team chemistry bringing in that toxicity. No way that kid beats out their current goalie. Heard they're starting at AA team at regular Fusion for Futures hopefuls. Wonder if he was offered a spot there. Not sure that kid will learn any semblance of maturity playing on that squad, unfortunately Hearing Fusion Futures is heading to HOCO next year. Makes sense now that the age restrictions will be relaxed and they can bring their 28s with them.

Hearing lots of changes to fca and crabs rosters. Some kids getting pushed out to other teams.

Word is some teams are challenging the HOCO age limits for 8th grade as they are not in line with NLF and US lax.
