91 lost even with the players from 28 team? Even with the fly in from VA? Maybe next year have just kids that play on the team year round and not drop in for a week or 2 in July.

With no game today did all of 91 go home after the loss? Will the season continue or will they pull the ripcord like Venom did last year? Trying to understand the mindset of this group rn.

Why is it embarrassing? All the on age talent was spread out amongst 6 teams. So watered down. Connecticut has one team in it. Yes, it’s a better team than all the Long Island ones. And the reason they are so much better is because the lack of saturation of options for the good players. Not to hard for anyone with a brain to figure out.

CT has a few top clubs including Primetime, Express North and 2way so more than one.

I think the point here is that those other CT clubs are not particularly good in the 29 class (2way didn't qualify for the WS and EN and PT barely won a game). Whereas the LI had 6 of the 16 teams in the winners bracket and 3 of the top 8. They are much, much deeper (i.e., the talent is more spread out among a larger number of teams).

That was exactly my point. Don’t call it embarrassing that 6 teams headquartered within 30-40 miles of each other made the playoffs.

I think the other guy’s point is that CT is similarly diluted. Fairfield county is a fraction of the population of Nassau.

The greed of club owners is the reason LI teams so watered down. Too bad because there is a ton of talent spread out amongst 5-6 teams.

91, express, igloo and dukes went home cause the tourney director made a mistake and didn’t make a bracket for the quarterfinal losers.

Thats right, the director of the World Series couldn’t properly produce a bracket.

Except that's not really true. Isn't Eclipse the only CT team ranked in the top 50? Even with a smaller population (and it's not actually that much smaller), you would have thought they could field at least one additional team that was more competitive.

🤡 comment especially after not even making it to semis and losing to weak team. Eclipse hands down as well as some others.

Long Island alone has a population of 7 million. Not to mention those players not living on the island. And lacrosse has a larger share there compared to other places where baseball still attracts the vast majority of athletes.

At least 4-5 teams at the WS better than 91. They are solid but not exceptional.

Stop sharing your ignorance. They lost to an ok team and let’s be real honest had a pretty easy bracket to get there.

Only thing they proved is that they didn’t win anything even with the supposed best team. Week schedule and they finally play a decent team and loose. And to top it off don’t even show up for the closing ceremony. Really teaching those kids how to compete!

Not a 91 parent. I am an express parent.
The tourney literally f’d up the brackets and provided us with no games today.
What would you do?
Oh yeah, I left last night.

Why the need for more games. The team had a good showing with some good wins, like the Rebels, made the championship bracket and got knocked by a team that went to the finals. I would want to be done at that point and go relax. And ready up for the NLF championship next weekend where the best of the best will be!

One mans quick review on the weekend:

Opening ceremony was a joke. Too crowded, too hot, ling lines for the bar (lax parents sure do put em away). The kids are 12 and 13, and they don’t have incredibly long attention spans. The one guy spoke way too long. They would have been better off bringing one of the instagram guys in to speak for 10 minutes.

The fields were excellent. Can’t complain about the grass or turf. Dome was a but humid, but that’s to be expected

I thought the officiating was excellent, let the kids play for the most part. Seems to be that way out of state vs here at home where they call every little thing.

Closing ceremony well done. Alot of participation and sportsmanship.

LI teams:

Biggest disappointments in 91 and Igloo. Both lost in the last 2 minutes to teams they are better than. Goes to show any given day, even the best teams can get knocked off.

Nice showing by Express, but expectations were about met. They brought their World Series team to Tristar and they were beat by both 91 and Eclipse who both did not have their World Series teams.

Legacy squeaked into the winner bracket but still didn’t belong. Without the Lumberjax kid they need an overhaul.

Rebels experiment has run it’s course. Parents fighting with each other on the sidelines and half the starters unable to return next year without reclassing. Plus, where are they playing next weeked? 2 big tournaments (nlf and 3d) and the kids are not playing.

The Herd struggled. What’s the path forward there? Merge with another team? Best kids jump ship?

Very fair assessment, gotta agree about games on Sunday from other post… who cares about a consolation bracket if u made the final 8… but that’s zero excuse for teams not to represent at the closing ceremony it’s about the kids not the adults not the coaches. experience’s like this are what u make of them I know plenty of kids who made the most of it and wether it was watered down or not they had an overall good experience. Could it use a couple more bells and whistles sure but to no show b/c there were no games is a poor excuse and poor management by the coaches it’s a bad look. And hats off to Eclipse that’s a good team and no one can deny it they assembled a talented team from top to bottom for the WS. LI is spread out with talent maybe one day the organizations will loose the ego and money grab and put together a team that truly represents the best and go out and prove the true talent across the island… but don’t count on it because parents and team ego’s won’t allow it. Let the best kids play on on a “national”stage for once together and prove how good the island is at this game.

1. Moose - great bunch of loyal families but it’s now time for top players to move on. Great club for development up to 6th-7th grade.

2. Igloo - exposed on lack of depth/quality at attack as best players had to shift to attack from mid to have a chance.

3. 91 - only a disappointment in the minds of 91 and parents. Team is not productive on offense against mid and top teams especially if you remove Venom kid. Defense and goalies make that team look better.

4. Legacy - really had no business being at WS

5. Express - above average and inconsistent team which will become better with player movements in next 2 years. Same goes for 91.

5. Rebels - still looking for an identity. Top notch coaches could attract players from other teams this tryout season

Moose is the only team from LI that came with a 29 squad. No 28s or special players. True 28 team from day one. Gotta respect that.

If anyone was in the dome for Express vs Future Fusions and Express vs Rebels you saw two great games both physically and mentally. The crowd for both games was great. Think Express had nothing left in their tanks having those two games back to back going into playing 3d.

Agreed that the opening ceremony was a joke. Didn’t even make time for each team to be acknowledged. Would have taken 10 minutes to announce each team and location and have them stand up. Instead let the guy drone on and on about eagles and bears and bats and squirrels and being a good teammate. All important, but eventually put the kids to sleep. Big missed opportunity, and something that I thought would be obvious.

However, Moose is more reliant on one kid than any other team. Can’t have one kid taking 80-90% of shots and scoring 4/5 of the teams goals. So not that strong of a “team”. They lose that player and they are non-competitive.
