One mans quick review on the weekend:
Opening ceremony was a joke. Too crowded, too hot, ling lines for the bar (lax parents sure do put em away). The kids are 12 and 13, and they don’t have incredibly long attention spans. The one guy spoke way too long. They would have been better off bringing one of the instagram guys in to speak for 10 minutes.
The fields were excellent. Can’t complain about the grass or turf. Dome was a but humid, but that’s to be expected
I thought the officiating was excellent, let the kids play for the most part. Seems to be that way out of state vs here at home where they call every little thing.
Closing ceremony well done. Alot of participation and sportsmanship.
LI teams:
Biggest disappointments in 91 and Igloo. Both lost in the last 2 minutes to teams they are better than. Goes to show any given day, even the best teams can get knocked off.
Nice showing by Express, but expectations were about met. They brought their World Series team to Tristar and they were beat by both 91 and Eclipse who both did not have their World Series teams.
Legacy squeaked into the winner bracket but still didn’t belong. Without the Lumberjax kid they need an overhaul.
Rebels experiment has run it’s course. Parents fighting with each other on the sidelines and half the starters unable to return next year without reclassing. Plus, where are they playing next weeked? 2 big tournaments (nlf and 3d) and the kids are not playing.
The Herd struggled. What’s the path forward there? Merge with another team? Best kids jump ship? 1. Moose - great bunch of loyal families but it’s now time for top players to move on. Great club for development up to 6th-7th grade. 2. Igloo - exposed on lack of depth/quality at attack as best players had to shift to attack from mid to have a chance. 3. 91 - only a disappointment in the minds of 91 and parents. Team is not productive on offense against mid and top teams especially if you remove Venom kid. Defense and goalies make that team look better. 4. Legacy - really had no business being at WS 5. Express - above average and inconsistent team which will become better with player movements in next 2 years. Same goes for 91. 5. Rebels - still looking for an identity. Top notch coaches could attract players from other teams this tryout season If rebels keep that staff it’s a no brainer to send your kid to tryout!! The team has room for improvement so they will need some new kids

Just had chance to play the year with that staff (Son is not a 2029), and yes that staff is incredible. They are also staying together. They will definitely be a force for years to come with that staff.

With no game today did all of 91 go home after the loss? Will the season continue or will they pull the ripcord like Venom did last year? Trying to understand the mindset of this group rn. 91, express, igloo and dukes went home cause the tourney director made a mistake and didn’t make a bracket for the quarterfinal losers. . Above is NOT accurate. Express, Igloo and Dukes were at the closing ceremony and participated. The ONLY team that didnt show up was 91 which is an embarrassment to that entire organization. What a bunch of sore losers.

You’d figure with a no brainer staff they would have gotten themselves into the NLF or 3D Alliance tournament next weekend.

If other teams try to bend the rules or cheat deflecting from their own cheating ways. They can’t develop kids they lose a lot of quality kids do to daddy ball conflicts and then have to fly in players from all over the country just to be competitive and keep advertising their brand! Being the only team not attending the ceremonies and not even making it to the semifinals is total embarrassment for that ownership, team coaches, parents and players.

Igloo and Rebels become irrelevant in under two weeks. All the best players go to LIE and 91. We can stop arguing now. And who cares about a closing ceremony. Nobody goes to those especially if the games ended the day before, give it a rest Igloo dad.

Igloo seems to have a loyal and talented group. Rebels has great coaching staff and talent. Both teams will be fine for next few years.
