Simple. The family is loaded and rents an apartment in NY to satisfy the 100 mile rule.

People on this forum really have to move on with a lot of these complaints. Same thing with holdback conversations etc. If the powers that be don’t enforce the rules for everybody uniformly, then everybody should stop complaining because year and year out it’s the same old story. If this kid who is an exceptional goalie is so good at a young age and he’s not a holdback and he plays for multiple teams because he has multiple residences, so be it. They’re very good family and stand out children. Many others are breaking rules clear cut. Then there’s others who got punished for being too old by two or three hours.

Yep, never underestimate willingness of parents to spend their kids way to the top in this sport. Plenty here on LI willing to do the same.

Had there ever been an exception made for age? If we’re gonna make age exceptions the Fusion Futures would love to get in on that.

Yeah they would, because they know they're not going anywhere with out their 2 main holdbacks.

not the point anyone is making policy was set 100 miles ,age, whatever the policy is... enforce it if its in writing not a hard concept to understand as in life u win some u loose some set the rules and enforce them. it just speaks to the fact organizations/parents will do anything to make a headline. its a sad existence in what's supposed to be a kids game. Adults ruin something thats supposed to be about kids fun and an experience yes winning is part of that part of life, but its ultimately about and for the kids ...or supposed to be

Naptown doesn't have the same location requirements you silly head. Sweetlax has Florida in the name but not all of the kids are from Florida.

It's fine that he plays in the Naptown tournament - they don't have any restrictions.

I'm complaining that he shouldn't be able to play in the World Series.

That tournament was specifically created for teams of on-age kids, from the same area.

The idea of kids flying in from other areas of the country to create super teams is completely antithetical to the spirit of the World Series.

Win Naptown, Sandstorm, or any of the other tournaments for super teams - good for you.

But, don't spoil the integrity of the ONE prestigious tournament specifically for teams where all the kids live close to each other, just so you can add one more trophy to your shelf.

You just ruin it for all the kids with parents who can't afford to fly their kids all over the country to collect tourney wins.

There is no such thing as a prestigious youth tournament. If you know any of the dads that arrange the super all star supreme local teams for the WS than you get that it is all a joke. They plan for years for the WS glory there sons will bring

You keep harping on this Eclipse goalie but nothing has been mentioned again about the Chaos kid who is a game changer and who now lives in VA and previously lived in PA and well outside the 100 mile radius. Just keep quiet or move onto another sport and let the Lax Elite take care of their own.

You don’t need to live in the state, city or county that your team is from. You just have to live within 100 mile radius of the Teams headquarters.

Chais kid has been on the team since inception years ago Dad moved to accept new job Eclipse goalie changes teams weekly, that is not right. Until this sport is governed properly club directors will continue to cheat.

word is he didn't when rosters were submitted but somehow miraculously he fell into the 100 mile radius with some fancy footwork. But yet others didn't get an exception for ever so slight rule misses . Just speaks to point rules are meant to be bent for some but not for all. Next year they shouldn't bother putting rules in writing if they aren't going to stick to them..or they need to apply equal liberal interpretations . And btw this is not bashing the kid I'd feel for him if he couldn't play b/c of an ever so slight rule miss as he has been part of 91 for a few years. But other kids unfortunately haven't been given the same exception for very similar rule misses and have been part of their respective teams for the same time or longer. Those are the kids who are being cheated.

They live in Virginia as his dad is a UVA coach. Seemingly, if you used to live somewhere or have friends on another team, your request for an exception will be approved.

Yeh we know, he lives more than 100 miles away. It’s a joke. 91 can’t control themselves. Anything to win a tournament. 2Way cheated last year and 91 this year. They can’t be embarrassed though. No moral compass that organization.

What’s the difference? Not like he is 15 years old
It’s a kid who plays on the team besides this event. He is not a holdback and fits the age criteria. I get the 100 mile rule but if my son’s team lost to his team and he was the deciding factor I would be totally fine with it. As would most. It would be a different story if the kid was only on the roster for this team for this one event.

What does that mean. Since you’re on the team from the beginning the rules don’t apply? Entitlement at its finest

He has been on the 91 team since 1st grade. Then he should still get to play on the 1st grade team since he started there at the inception!

Totally False. 91 spinning bs again. They complain about other teams while continually breaking/bending rules. Even if that was true he still was outside 100 mile radius in 1st grade.

So the rules don’t apply. Nice life lesson. There is no defending that in my opinion. Break the rules go ahead
