FCA is a mixed bag of coaches and players. What they do well is convince people to drink the Kool-aid like many other teams. The difference is their kool-aid is said to have a splash of holy water. They are not different than what other teams do. If you are religious person you may feel differently about how they use religion as the forefront for building winning lacrosse teams. Marketing at it's best. Religion can be seen as a business as well by some.

The "F" in FCA stands for fake.
Watch the behavior of the coaches on their sidelines and at FCA High.

I know it varies from coach to coach, but our experience with FCA on the boys side has been exactly what we were looking for. Maybe it is not for everyone though. Our daughters experience has been a little different though. Again, varies on the coach leading the team.

There is a reason there are tons of shiny orange helmets playing at other clubs. And it doesn't have to do with lacrosse ability.
It's a weird cult.

FCA keeps all the kool aid drinkers and CH wannabes down there, paying dues.

Stay away from the girls side, especially as you get close to high school. Poorly run and only exist to be a fund raiser for the boys side. They only have two high school teams that are mediocre at best. Extremely limited recruiting resources since they’ve never done this before. Overrun with parent coaches half of which are only there so that their kid has a team to play on. Their 25’s team folded after half the team couldn’t make their high school team last year.

Stay away from both sides unless you are family/friends with the Kelly family and/or go to CHC. And even then I would still stay away.

Good luck to the 2026 FCA teams this summer. If your son is not in a top private school or a coaches favorite, don’t expect the coaches to look out for him and play him. They could care less about those kids. We went through it a few years ago with our son. It was extremely disheartening watching the team lose time and time again just because they continued playing their favorites for the entire game. Be prepared to spend a lot of extra money on camps and showcases.

No need to bash FCA.....if you don't like it.....don't join! You must be new or in the Hiken harem As was mentioned before, and is probably true of most clubs, but even more with FCA.......your positive or negative experience totally depends on the coach. "Hiken Harem" has never been positive or the best.

I heard they only had one coach there to run the show and people are pissed. Kids putting themselves on the field in front of others and kids on the team putting others down? Sounds like they are in for a long summer!

Hiken had a family commitment but will be there for rest of tourneys. At least get your facts straight.

Have been involved with FCA for 4 years with 2 boys on younger teams 2029-2032 and never have a shortage of coaches. The faith experience and team cultures differ from coach to coach, but coaching is excellent!

FCA 2026 played very competitive games against 2 teams ranked in top 5 nationally. College coaches all down the sideline for those games. At this point its about playing well in front of the college coaches. They won a tough game at end of Saturday to get into championship bracket and got to play Team Ten (No. 2) next morning as a result. The boys who played got the opportunity to show. If your son didn't play I understand why you are upset but maybe move to a club (at this late time) to get him more looks? Pointing out that the team only won one game means nothing. At this stage its not about hardware its about showing out.

No college coach is watching the losers bracket. Right. Which is why it was great that they got into the championship bracket, as I said, Einstein. They have games coming up against other top teams including LI Express CoachC. Plenty of coaches from top D1 programs will be on the sidelines. None of them care who gets the trophy (and CoachC will get it).

Glad you got playing time in front of college coaches, playing time every kid in the 26 class should be getting now. Like you said, it’s not about the wins or the losses, it’s about the time on the field in front of the college coaches and that coach isn’t giving all of his players that. He is picking his favorites to show in front of coaches and that’s it. While half the team sits. That was the point. Einstein.
