Any 27s gonna have an impact this year at their HS?
LOL!!!! Impact??? Are you serious??? My guess would be 5-10 make varsity at a MIAA/IAC/WCAC schools and maybe 3 or 4 get significant minutes. Not sure if that is an "impact". Every year there are 1 or 2 freshman that play significant minutes. You’re outage at the question could mean that your son will not be one of them. Shack started at BL freshman and made impact, bombed at JHU but was good in HS Dude was 4 year starter at JHU, scored 200+ points & 3X all-American. Wish I would have bombed like Shack in college. Shack couldn't dodge his way out of anything in college. Four years starting , and the offense running thru him. Million like. He should have those stats . Petro started him over more talented players and paid the price. Lost several recruits due to his choice of staters. A lousy Hopkins for several years.

It appears there are a good amount of 2027 freshman who made MIAA A league varsity teams! Talent has not been there overall in last few years. This class will make an impact. MIAA is starting to have superior players along with a whole lot of average at best . More disparity between the top and average than in the past. Probably some good reason I am not able to figure out.

Lots of 26s and 27s made varsity in the MIAA this year. Gonna be hard for the 28s to crack the varsity rosters for a few years.

2027 is stacked across MD/DC. I know we're supposed to fight here, but I'm excited for the class and to watch them grow into studs across the region. Some great lacrosse in the coming years for sure.

Same situation on HoCo Elite and no tryout prep. I think most of the coaches already knew who was going where.

I think it will depend on the position of the player and the school's existing roster. Lefty's and D Middies seem to be popular.

That 26 and 27 classes are shaping up real nice.
IMO, Not many 28s are gonna make V as underclassmen. I expect a lot of average to pretty good 28s to either get stuck on JV for 2-3 years or unfortunately wash out.
Schools don't expect that deposit until the summer. If my kid was a 28, I'd still be shopping to find the right fit, roster-wise.

Um. This season just started. The 28's have a whole entire year to improve. They are still young. It is not smart to make these predictions now. Some athletes bloom a little bit later and IMO those are the ones that end up being the best.

I thinks it's a fools errand to try to choose your school based on projected rosters - except maybe for goalies. There are so many things that can change that you have no control over. Coaches change and players get hurt, transfer, switch positions. Choose a school you'd want to stay at if lacrosse doesn't work out. Break the tie with the coach you trust the most. Being stuck behind some D1 commits is not the end of the world, they are examples to learn from.

Go where you can play and be seen. That's what your club is for. There are strong HS teams with 6-10 D1 commits per class. Plenty of Fr/So on those teams are not getting time on Varsity and they'll be just fine.

The last #1 recruit MM is a perfect example of it. All MIAA schools are decent , so who cares where you go as long as you get playing time. Might want to look in the mirror there , and see who has the large feet and red nose

I don’t know why you’d be a clown. If you want your kid to play you’d better pick a school that is the right fit both academically and athletically. We’re fortunate in this area that we have lots of choices.

The holdback discussion has been going on for years. For parents concerned about being disadvantaged, there is a great opportunity for your player to hone their skills against tougher competition. It will even out once you reach HS. In the meantime, develop their skills. I have witnessed many D-1 players with terrible passing and shooting techniques that, if corrected, would add much to their respective teams. If you want to play at the college level, you should be able to compete as a sophomore in HS against JR's and SR's. There is plenty of time; use it wisely to play other sports and work on skills. I went through 12 years of lacrosse with my player, and he used lacrosse to go to a school that would have been a demographic reach without it.

Connor Shellenberger collect social security while in the PLL? Thats funny but true,, Guy looks like a full grown man in interviews. That age shouldnt be allowed to play,,,Got to be a cut off at 23 unless you were in Military. MD Wisnokis ? was really old too, Heldback, Red shirt, Covid year, 4 years college eligibility .. Guy was like Connor, 25 or 26,,,Totally goes against what most think of college players.

In a few years the world of college sports will be totally changed all in the name of winning at any cost.

It seems weird but true bc he went to syracuse to hold back as a red shirt. The worst thing about him is he spend 6 years as an undergrad and still didn't graduate.
