Have fun getting blown out by the cheating Nationals LC.

Nationals LC looked average at best today and hearing they have a known 2027 on the roster. Eclipse WS team is WAY better.
Who’s the known 2027?

https://www.hudl.com (link to NC kid who plays on 2027 and 2029 nationals team)

In full disclosure on Hudl the kid is listed as a
2027, I have no clue if he was playing for them this weekend

Kids names can not be listed on this forum

2 of their middies are early year 2010s who have played for 2028s up until this past year when they joined nationals. Both are excellent 2028s who have no business playing at the 2029 level.

Nationals don’t follow the rules, constant filling teams with random kids, tournament to tournament at the expense of the actual roster. Winning creates good social media and marketing which keeps the well running, unfortunately same is true for most national teams.

Player Eligibility
Players may play in divisions according to their grade, or above. No player will be permitted to play in any group below the year they are set to graduate, regardless of any circumstance related to how old the player is.

This is a grade tournament, not an age eligible play below the grade tournament like the World Series.

Legacy East broke these rules too. Problem is - every team at some point or another, breaks the rules and no one does anything about it.

Rebels broke the rules in they're own tournament. We had four 2028 players when the rules were posted. The 2028's did not do much. Our record speaks for itself. At least give our other kids playing time in a tournament that is grade based.

Every 2029 division this year will allow the eligible 2028s to play. Happens each year

Losing by 2 to Igloo and Express does speak for itself. All these teams are very close, talent-wise.

If they are eligible why shouldn’t they play? Same age group. 2029’s have been babied. Every other group deals with single and double holdbacks and these guys complain about of age players playing because they play for 2028’s.

Yea I have to agree with this one. The 29 class doesn’t know how lucky they have it. 27s and 28s had and continue to have it way worse.

And also FWIW express 28s are actually 28s. And seriously, be thankful your kid is a 29. The most on-age graduating class in years with the least amount of holdbacks and reclasses.

I would bet the express WS team is on average younger than the WS teams of 91, igloo, rebels and legacy.

Not a big difference in talent between any of the top 5 teams on the Island in this age group. Any given day each team could beat the other.

So no Tristar either? Wouldn’t playing a competitive tournament advance that agenda? Or do they not want anything on film before July 1?

That read like a joke to me. But seriously, that team has played NAL every year so why not this time?

Advice, enjoy the WS and 7th grade, it all changes next year. Who cares what team is bringing what players to the WS. Unavoidable and out of your control. It's not cheating as it's within the rules. Next year the whole landscape shifts and things get fool, so enjoy the moment. Good luck to all at the WS.

Probably 75% of the teams will have 28s. Who cares as long as they are on age?

The 29 grad year will be littered with kids repeating 8th grade. And the lining up for high school recruiting years will begin. You’ll see new faces on top programs. A few mediocre teams will become very competitive by high school (i.e. 2Way, Primetime, Sweetlax Fl, Team 10).

How does age verification factor into the equation in your opinion? Genuinely curious as I see things changing but wouldn't be surprised if they stay the same

Hopefully for all of you, the rules put in place actually work.
If they don’t work and aren’t enforced, see below.

Do yourself a favor if you’re at NAL or NLf, and stop by a 28 game or two. You’re going to see a bunch of 15 year olds. some on the verge of being 16 year olds, competing against 13-14 year olds. As has been stated here before, the 29 age group is extremely lucky. The lack of holdbacks and reclasses that have been playing compared to the 28 and 27 divisions is startling.
Just go to the social media pages of the top 28 teams in the country and you can see for yourself. You may even see some double holdbacks on a few of the pages. Chances are some of your kids have the inside scoop on names and ages. Not that it matters, because it’s currently within the rules.

Age verification doesn't exist. Façade to make parents feel better, but once you step onto the grass at a tourney you'll figure out right away that nobody is checking and everyone is cheating! Next year 2029 will become the Wild West, teams you have never heard of before will become relevant based on 8th-grade repeats. Starting to take form everywhere now, not just in the usual states like MD, CT, MA, NJ, and PA.

There is no age verification after this year for 2029’s. That’s why everyone tells you to enjoy it while you have it.

The kids who were age verified out of 29 teams this year will also return.

Losing by 2 to Igloo and Express does speak for itself. All these teams are very close, talent-wise.

Only one of those teams was rolling with 28’s

Rebels and Igloo both had 28s. Express doesn’t because all of their 28s are really 27s lol

I would bet the express WS team is on average younger than the WS teams of 91, igloo, rebels and legacy.
I’ll be happy to take your money on that bet

well, what is clear is that express has the same players as they did last year. igloo and the rebels do not.
I’m curious how you have so much knowledge about others rosters , 2/3rds of the statement is just outright wrong. I’ll let you figure it out as you seem to present yourself as “in the know”

not the original poster, but doesn't anyone that has been around the 2029 LI teams the past few years know the players on the teams? i mean i know parents/kids on most of the teams. i thought the idea that the rebels have a completely different team was a known fact? they used to not be able to compete, and now they can. good for them. but their team is not the same group of kids it was a season ago.

Rebels are a PITA, they want to be relevant but just can't figure it out. The constant cheerleading on these boards is exhausting. The Rebels families and directors should take a pulse of what they have and just be happy. The club does well, but it will never break the upper echelon of club teams and the reputations they have earned. Know your role, and enjoy your role.

I think their coaches all coach like four teams. That’s never a good situation in my opinion. It’s always fun to go to tournaments and your coach is with another team.
