Top player in Suffolk if from Floyd Nope. What games were you watching? Only average at draw against good teams, and scoring as well. Great player, no way the top. SE and Northport senior both more deserving. This is not supposed to be a lifetime achievement award. It’s supposed to be the best player of the season. Agree, not the top LI player. Both Floyd and SE play light schedules. Easy to rack up points. There are better players on LI playing harder schedules.

Not a tough schedule. LOL!
Smithtown East Bulls coming in at number 23 according to LILj. Mount Sinai was ranked 21 in same ranking. The Bulls were 10-5 in the regular season last year and got into the playoffs as a five seed where they defeated both fourth seeded Commack and top seeded Ward Melville to make it all the way to the Suffolk Class A County Finals where they gave the reigning two-time Long Island champion Northport Tigers everything they had where their season came to an end. This season so far SE girl has 79 goals 38 assists for a total of 117 points, which is leading all of Long Island. SE girl had 6G4A vs Longwood. 5G3A vs Floyd, 5G4A verse Northport, 4Goals vs Melville etc... all top teams... Face guard with a backer in every game! I think Northwestern knew what they were doing when the picked her up after her performance last season. Lol thanks for the stats Dad. Seriously, SE dad needs to stop embarrassing himself. We all know Stats are relevant to team schedules , other players on team, playing time, etc. Stats are skewed on LI between the conferences. The mid teams can have the girl with the most stats. They can rack up tons on the crappy teams they play. SE played weak teams as well. Easy to rack up stats in those games. And, especially if shooting every time you touch the ball.

There is plenty of dominant players on LI and on better teams with awards. It’s Going to be a little different in college when everyone is the star player from their HS teams. SE is not even at the top of the LI teams. Chill out, let’s see how college goes. She’s had a great HS career, everyone agrees. Star of SE, yes. Would she be at other top LI schools? Stats relevant to who you play.

Predictions Suffolk A - Ward Melville B - West Islip C - BBP D - honestly no idea
Nassau A - Syosset B - GC C - Manhasset D - CSH
LI A - Ward Melville B - GC C - BBP D - CSH
Who you got?

SOS!!! What is happening to WANTAGH? The girls still use the same plays from when Rooney was around. But now those plays aren't working because they aren't NEW plays or RUPPERT'S PLAYS; they are OLD PLAYS!! My daughter graduated, and many alum families watched last night's game vs South Side. We still talk to many families with girls still on the team, and WANTAGH has to do something fast.
The new coach, Ruppert, is out of her league. She's not bringing anything to the table and is ruining that program. But despite the bad coaching, I've got to hand it to the girls; they're really stepping up. The team captains are doing an amazing job holding everyone together, and the players are really supporting one another.
It's great to see them keep their spirits up and try their best, even when things aren't running smoothly behind the scenes. Wantagh, figure it out! You can forget Manhasset. They already know to watch the film from Maddie Taylor's year.

No insight into the coaches but they only lost 4 games (St Anthonys, GC, Sacred Heart, Manhasset). No problem there, all top teams. And they have wins against CSH and South Side (x2). And this in context of losing their best player to injury early in year. At least from outside looking in they seem to be fine.

All other losses are “quality” losses. all 3 of the other losses were under 2 goals (which could have easily went the other way for a W) - vs GC 8-6 L - box score shows wantagh led by 1 after 3 qtrs but got outscored 4-1 in the 4thQ - vs Sacred Heart 8-7 OT L - vs Manhasset 12-11 L Seems like Gritty players there. Does a “better” coach turn those 3 L’s into W’s?

Is the class designation based on population based on specific population of Boys vs Girls? Thank you. It's based on total enrollment, but the numbers are different between sports and between girls and boys in same sport. The B/C cutoff for boys is 734 while for girls it is 775. Not sure why but assume it takes into account boy/girl ratio on a statewide level as well as the difference in participation rates between boys and girls and the various sports. I'm sure it's all very complicated, and I imagine there is that one person up in Albany entering numbers in a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet that nobody really understands.

Section 11 should be embarrassed by allowing the Class B Championship to be held at West Islip. They charge to get into these games at high schools and are too cheap to pay to have it at Stony Brook. The officiating was horrendous and West Islip was treated as the home team and got plenty of homer calls. If you don't believe it, watch the game tape. It doesn't lie. Plus the fact they give yellow cards where none of the three officials saw anything, but a coach carrying on for five minutes and they cave to the badgering. It was a joke.

Section 11 should also be embarrassed for excluding some county award winners. The awards dinner on June 10th is limited to All county winners and seniors. Either don't give so many awards or find a larger venue.

It was poorly officiated but if you watch the game, you will see it wasn’t one sided. We tend to focus on end of the game calls. Not a charge, perhaps some embellishing. But WI had a goal taken away on an apparent dangerous shot where the only contact made was a stick hitting another stick, not the face even though the player acted like she was struck.l in the head before a miraculous 5 second recovery once the errant call was made. As for the venue, any Suffolk team could have put in to host…smithtown as well as every other school in the counties did not.

To the SW parent complaining about WI hosting. Every coach could of thrown their hat in to host. Obviously no one else did so WI got the go ahead. It's sad the game from what i watch could of went anyway. WI had a goal taking away cause SW girl grabbed her head when she did not get hit. Teriible sportsmanship, especially when SW scored the swinging of their sticks. SW has many girls flopping as well but be angry cause you couldn't win....Congrats WI lol
