Heros shows again their weakness on the draw. Can't win games if you never have the ball!
Good luck today Crush and Coppermine! Yeah good luck. And remember, the only NGLL championship that matters is the last one!! None really matter when recruiting comes. Crush had a great day. Can’t wait to see the future matchups in Laxforcure and G8! Wait they don’t get in those. How long till their top players leave for clubs that do ? After a big loss, your coping mechanism was to come to a lightly trafficked message board and try to insult the team of 14yo girls who beat you? That’s not a good reflection on you or your club.

Lax4theAure & G8 aren't what they used to be. My daughters club never played in them and had no problem being recruited to top teams - just an FYI

What a joke. There were 17 other 8th grade teams all playing for the same thing. Celebrate your victory Crush! Great season and good luck in Nationals. Best region hands down. Enjoy that tshirt and wear it prowdly.

It's like clockwork. Every time that Coppermine or Crush win something, frustrated parents from the old guard teams like M&D, Hero's, and Sky Walkers, come on the board to question what teams the Coppermine or Crush players will move to for high school to avoid a recruiting disaster. It's weak and annoying. Let's celebrate their accomplishments. Hope you made yourself feel better after your early exit from the NGLL playoffs.

Not my team either but no one has said this win means they are all being recruited to college. It does mean they won the NGLL Championship in the toughest NGLL division by far as 8th graders when this is the league all the top clubs in Maryland play in. Next year they will all be playing high school lacrosse in the spring and no one will care about NGLL anymore. But this is a great accomplishment and congratulations to Crush and good luck next weekend.

Guessing you weren't an athlete--and spoken like a parent on a team who lost... heck yeah it's meaningful to players, coaches, and parents to win the toughest division of NGLL and beat the best team in the country in the process. Not affiliated with Crush, but what an awesome achievement for them. Have always admired how they play. The notion that 14-year old girls, coaches, and families, are supposed to just trudge on as if a win like that is just a normal development engagement on a multi-year college recruiting process is ridiculous. You must be running a completely joyless process in your lacrosse play and parenting. Probably a big proponent of hero ball. Get a life. Congrats Crush! Go win the National title. That will matter too!

Congrats to all of the players and coaches from the Mid Atlantic Champs, Crush. Well deserved win after a great season! They are well coached, have lots of talent and are fierce competitors. Hats off to them on a great run. Go out and win NGLL for the mid atlantic.
Rumor has it, the Coppermine phones are red hot and jockeying for the next secret pickup to steal from another team. They need more superstars after another crushing loss. Hearing the line to attend practices is already camped out at the back of Norris.

As a parent who's daughter won back to back NGLL National titles recently, it certainly means something. It means your hard work paid off. What's the use in playing NGLL if you're not trying to win the whole thing. Don't listen to these fools. Celebrate accordingly and get ready for Nationals.

Is Crush the favorites now to win the NGLL national title? Much better topic. I think Crush established themselves as 1B with that win. Eagle Stix will be the favorite (1A), but it's really close. The teams haven't played since last July when Eagle Stix won 10-3, but Crush is a better team than last year and has been playing top competition in NGLL Mid-Atlantic. Eagle Stix cruised in their NGLL tourney. Both teams will be ready for the challenge. Go Crush.

Would have been nice to stop at your first sentence "Congrats to all of the players and coaches from the Mid Atlantic Champs, Crush". Your follow up questions your intent. As a Crush follower for several years, I have nothing but respect for the 2028 Coppermine team. Year in and year out they have proven themselves consistently as a very good team, no team smiles when they see Coppermine on their schedule. They have spoiled a few seasons for Crush as well as for other teams. As I stood by watching Coppermine players and parents walking past the celebrating Crush team, the comments overheard from Coppermine players and parents amounted to "Crush is a very good team that played extremely well, deserving of their win and Championship today". That is the height of sportsmanship! Wishing such sportsmanship could be displayed on this forum. Hats off to you Coppermine, for making Crush a better team... Competition breeds Champions. As for Crush, Coppermine we know you'll be back and there will always be a new season followed by a Champion, followed by a new season

You’d have to give the edge to Crush since ES played a ham sandwich and a bag of donuts to get into NGLL.

This Crush coppermine detest all comes from skywalkers parents and coaches cause those players would traditionally be at skywalker heading in to high school.

Are many girls planning to try out for American Select this weekend? Heard mixed opinions from those who did it last year but I’m guessing as girls get older there will be more and more players trying out. Looks like coaches are all Hero’s so guessing they will be represented.

The coaches for American Select do not select their teams. There are different evaluators.
That being said, last years team was a joke. You had girls that could not catch or throw. It was a disaster. The MD American Select team got whooped. Embarrassing. And the coaches were awful. Just stood around.
Hopefully it will be different this year, and those selected deserve their spot on the team. Not because they are connected or need to have representation from 'B' teams...

I'm willing to bet if there are enough girls there will also be a second team (27s had two teams last year and looks like LI has 3 2028 teams this year). If there are 2, is one considered an A while other is considered a B? Or do they mix girls up. Hard to tell looking at the 27 rosters.

Save your money and take your daughter on vacation. All these “All Star” teams are nothing but money grabs. Let your daughter get some rest before she gets hurt.

Hopefully it will be different this year, and those selected deserve their spot on the team. Not because they are connected or need to have representation from 'B' teams... 90% of parents last year realized it was a money grab for 2028’s (which it still is this year) another 5% that attended and saw that very few top 2028’s were there did not accept their invites so the team was left with girls that could not catch and throw. I expect the talent to be much better this year with the folding of AU futures and many 2028 teams and top players not in attendance for AA. With so many new all star games popping up difficult to tell year to year what will be considered the “best” that year until you attend a tryout and see the rosters.

There were definitely some surprises for 2027 last year. Hard to pick girls sometimes at a 4 hour tryout when most girls are hogging the ball trying to stand out. Good news is last years pick make it seem that at least the lower age groups it is not too political but AS coaches have a couple open spots for “coaches discretion” so expect this will be used on Heros girls if they somehow get overlooked.

Maybe the players who were on the team were the only ones that tried out... A lot of the top talent was at AU right before AS and didnt try out for the AS team. The coaches were 20 year veteran coaches I doubt they are awful..

Why did AU futures fold ?? Year 1- expensive, three full days good amount of interactions with pros day and a half of drills and coaching by college players day and 1/2 of scrimmages. Year 2- more expensive day and a half, pros waved as they walked by, 2 hours of drills with college players, 1 day of scrimmages Year 3- repeat the formula with less players registering and 90% of those that did were under 12 years old

Look up who they are then tell me they werent good.. You probably dont even know. No one is disputing that in the world of lacrosse they are not good coaches. We are saying that last year they could have cared less about coaching the 2028 team and it showed. Maybe they were annoyed that they were in charge of younger age group but they were 100% not engaged.
