LOL…tough crowd.

You must be new to the game. Let me explain.

- Both defenses and goalies were stellar.
- As a result, each possession was methodical and valued with care
- The game was chess not checkers
- Earlier this week, USA lacrosse ranked BBP #1 in the country and GC #14.
- Both teams will win counties and State finalists, at a minimum.
- Long Island is still THE hotbed.

Have a wonderful weekend.

#1 is a stretch! GC and St. Ants talent is better than BBP! I would argue that BBP coaching staff IS better and has been consistent for years. They make the difference and are MVP. The talent at St. Ants and GC is Better. SA just has not had consistent coaching to bring that talent to its peak performance for a few years now. New coach this year. Needs a little time. With consistent good coaching, no doubt St. Ants would be #1 nationally. They beat top teams at HS Nationals to win it.

BBP beat St Ants in a scrimmage just last week. A game is a game is a game. So relax. Unfortunate turnover with 2 minutes left, outside of that it was anyone game last night.

Yes bayport and SA scrimmaged played three periods, and had no refs and won by one goal. I would hardly call that a win.

Regardless, you lost and by more than one goal. Tbh No one cares, until you want to come on here and pound your chest right (after you lost to BBP) that you’re some superior LI team. If you’re so good you shouldn’t need more than 3 periods to beat BBP. So chill.

It’s always funny to see St. Ants comments pop up when the post wasn’t about them.

Anyway good game as was mentioned. Anyone’s game. The winner won

BBP coach beat SA coach …. That’s all. St. As has the better players. New coach, needs to get plays working.

Winning with the kids from town that you grew up with ala BBP, GC, WHB, Manhasset…. Feels a lot better than whatever they’re doing at one of these private schools

Sometimes you’d rather win with good hearted people than some kids whose 🍎 dont fall far from the tree that are rotten apples to begin with ala Manhasset…Feels a lot better than whatever they‘re doing at those private homes

A lot depends on how the coach manages practices. Lots of coaches only give 13 or 14 field players reps in practice and rest watch except skill work. Other programs try to give reps to everyone which is great for freshmen if you are going up against all-state girls every day.

Bayport graduated 8 seniors that went D1. Their rankings reflected last years team accomplishments. They will be rebuilding for the next few years and Yes they have a good team with great coaches but no where near last years team.

GC on its way down. When parents take their kids out of their town youth/travel
Programs it doesn’t bode well for the future varsity programs.
How many Tradition players are now playing for other clubs?

The 18 Long Island Championships on top of the 15 New York State championships indicate otherwise (most of any school in the state Period).

Girls playing on different clubs is not new. For the uninformed, the certain players that do leave always come back to play in certain leagues together.

Hold on to your socks, you’re about to see another 10-15 year run.

What @ChillLaxin. Tradition is relatively new. First class was 2024! So that means for years and years before that, kids played for YJ, Liberty and Elevate...etc.

Actually 2025
The vast majority of current varsity contributors never played for tradition. Honestly having a travel club too closely tied to high school team is often a political nightmare.

Yes, that's correct. Thanks for the correction.

Wantagh had GC on the ropes for 3 quarters (5-4 to start the 4th) but got outscored 4-1 in the 4thquarter. The wantagh goalie kept them in the game.

Northport is undefeated yet they don't look like they are that good. Is it that the lack of talent is not there anymore on long island

Seems weird when LILJ goes to game one or two kids get a player of a game shirt, when they go to SA game, the whole team gets a shirt every time. I guess its not political at all.

The Asst Coach/Co-Owner of LILJ needs to take care of the spoon that feeds him.

Commack is the team to beat. Took care of NP yesterday, and WM a few days ago. Floyd was shut down handily by WM.

I agree. There are a few teams that have real stand outs though.

Westhampton 1
GC 1
BP 1
Sayville 1
SE 1

Other teams have good plays too, but those girls really are above the rest in their talent on the field.

Tough to win against them at home. Don’t think that would happen again though. Commack probably still gets the #1 seed, and Floyd will choke again like last year.

Class A is not very good. The best teams in A would be lucky to make the playoffs in Class C
