I’m no fan of ML but I disagree with your analysis. If you look at ML’s record other than the Hawks all of their games we’re very close including a 7-4 loss to the Crabs (91 lost to the crabs 1-12). I think the Hawks loss was an anomaly- possibly due to kids missing that weekend or possibly because the Hawks offense just matched up better against ML defense. Unfortunately the FCA concussion controversy drowned out the analysis of the ml/hawks game. I’d love to know what happened. It amazes me that the ML who gave the Crabs its closest game all season gets utterly destroyed by the Hawks.

HoCo coaches need better concussion training. A concussed player was sent back in the game and things clearly got worse from there. When kids take significant blows to the head they should come out of the game for assessment and coaches should err on side of caution before subbing them back in. These games are meaningless fun but concussion impacts can be serious and last a lifetime. It shouldn't take a kid lying on the ground, puking, or not knowing where he is to diagnose a concussion. Hope coaches and the league will do better for the kids going forward. What is your suggestion??? NP, my suggestion is for HoCo to do what someone else suggested earlier this week is suspend FCA for the playoffs in order to highlight the issue. coaches watch the videos I'm sure, but old school coaches don't think that "little timmy getting his bell rung" is a big deal. there is only one way to get coaches like that to understand.

MadLax is closed out from making the playoffs, 91 Maryland is not a particularly exciting opponent, and it is a late game (6:30-8) that would likely require staying over Saturday night. I bet MadLax is bringing its best possible roster for their grudge match next week against DCE. But if I were a family from Florida, Michigan, etc. i would take a pass on this one.

Ok, hopefully FCA player is Ok.
Maybe some predictions for this weekend to lighten the mood:
Crabs 14, FCA 4. Assuming the FCA FOGO is still out and on his way to recovery… Crabs will dominate possession and score at will. FCA will struggle mightily as they did against team 91 without perhaps the best FOGO in HoCo.
Hawks 13, NL 5. Hawks are clicking, and they match up well with NL. NL has won the games they should, and have gotten blown out in tougher games. I think they get blown out. They lack real firepower on Offense, and they depend heavily on their goalie. But the Hawks will break through and score a bunch.
DCE 13, Team Money 5. Team Money is in the wrong end of the pool in Elite Division. DCE may finally have a chance at the FOGO dot and actually get some possessions. They will likely play their entire roster if they get up, so the result won’t be as bad as it might be, but an 8 goal differential is my guess.
Upset Alert: Team 91 7, Madlax 5. Good goalie matchup, but Team 91 coming off a strong game against FCA. Some of ML flyins won’t post, and 91 has a very good FOGO to offset the Madlax FOGO from Michigan. Madlax will get caught looking ahead to their Toilet Bowl game against DCE next weekend, the 91 goalie will out duel the ML goalie, and 91 spoils their weekend Pretty impressive… nailed two of them right in the nose. Your 91 upset bid was close, but Madlax pulled out late. The FCA game was much closer than you had predicted, but you didn’t think they’d have their FOGO back. Hopefully he’s doing well, and maybe even back playing. Couple of monster games next weekend. Hawks -Crabs the marquee matchup. I am going Hawks 9, Crabs 5. Hawks are just too good. The Toilet Bowl is the other marquee matchup between Madlax and the ex-Madlaxers at DCE. Both teams are eliminated from the playoffs, but some real animosity on this board between those two clubs (ironically, the kids probably don’t feel any of it). Neither teams is great offensively, but I suspect DCE is able to get the win, 7-5 final. FCA will plhandle Team Money 13-4, and 91 will be a problem for Next Level, but it wont matter— playoffs are already determined. But 91 beats NL 8-6 in a meaningless game.

Hawks and DCE won in blowouts, and MadLax v 91 was a two goal game, with MadLax coming out on top, but I’ll give you that one because you called a close game. The only one you missed was Crabs/FCA, which you called a blowout and it an actually was a one goal game. I assume this means that FCA expedited the return of the fogo with the concussion, which fits the image the coaches have cultivated for themselves. The other takeaway is that it appears the division has three elite teams, four who are a notch below elite and have some work and some summer recruiting to do if they want to be elite for HS, and one that probably didn’t belong in the division at all.

There isn’t one thing you can take away from them like you can for crabs. FCA didn’t lock off #7 on Crabs, he scored 5 of 6. Hawks will and he won’t score more than 2.

They belong in the last group as well. Sometims you have to win those 1 goal games, and if you never do, it's a sign that the roster talent and/or coaxhing cannot do wjat they claim to be doing. Expect them to "practice squad" most of the current roster and build out of state talent this summer into next fall. But yes the Summer 2025 91 squad will be legit for the 2028s.

Was looking at the AAA and what happened the DCE Orange?? I thought everyone was talking them up to be in the top 3? I’ve heard a ton of complaints re coaching from my son who has a lot of buddies on the team. Typically a very lame excuse, but that’s what I heard… eventually the kids will start believing that if they say it enough or hear their parents saying it enough times. Definitely some good talent for a AAA team.

It’s coaching on that team, 100% coaching. Just really bad. The team's success seems to somewhat ride with how they can minimize playing time for 2 of the 3 dad coaches' sons. But to your point, some of the drills this coach uses are utter nonsense and don't replicate in-game scenarios or even realistic muscle memory development. After so many years of coaching, and with this team, something like a 5-35 record over the last few years, maybe you change some things up? The bulk of the players on this team either started at their soon-to-be-private high schools as middle school students - before they ever went to 91, or they are attending various Baltimore County public HS programs, mostly Perry Hall and Towson. Kind of ironic that for the 2028s, 91 had little influence on their high school (at least rising 9th grade) trajectory.....when historically, that's been one of 91's biggest, loudest sales pitches to parents. Maybe a small chip in the Millon brand's armor? Guess we will see.

This is nonsense. There are 4 coaches, only 1, the head coach, has a child on the team. The other 3 are younger coaches with no children on the team. As far as practices, drills and game planning, yes it’s a mess.

My son is on a team in the AAA division. He said a couple DCE players got moved up to the Elite team a few games back. I’m not sure if they had guys move down or what. His team was happy to see those players moved up because they carried the team apparently. Last year the rumor was FCA moved guys down to AAA from Elite during the season. I don’t think that is fair and I don’t understand how it’s allowed.

Nothing new for Fca and yes we heard that rumor last year. The league has no backbone. The hoops a program have to jump through to file a grievance insure they will not protest. How could they know who is on the roster? It’s not provided to the opponent. They make it rosters such a point of emphasis, but then don’t make them available? Do they roster check before games in elite?

Serious question. What do the 2 dads do who moved all the boys from ML to DCE do Now? After this season, they wont have many options and it’s a small lax circle. Planning a Secret tryout for True Virginia? Plan a move to NL?. I feel sorry for their boys. Sound like their fo is the only player with options. Popping it and so excited to watch!

I think that the kids are going to stay at DCE for the name recognition for summer tournaments and recruiting purposes. Other players begging to go back to ML? If that is the case, let them. But, you just gave ML that much more control of your kid. This sounds like a bad movie...

Best move is to stay put, team is improving, slower than hoped for but it is happening, and going back to ML wouldn't make anyone happy. "Their fo," I have no idea who you're talking about, or which team's FO.

This is completely made up. FCA has never moved players up or down during the season. FCA's fogo did not play against Crabs. My son's team has played against both FCA teams over the years and while they FREQUENTLY sandbag FCA White with FCA Blue players at tournaments, I cannot imagine that either set of coaches would allow or encourage that during Hoco season.

I think they’re pretty content. But 50% of the Madlax team will not be Madlax come July. That I can promise you.
