What was that again?

Nice win by Spalding. Not really an upset this year. Don’t compare these top teams to history. Evaluate them now
McD no depth that can be trusted as based on coach’s substitution strategy in last two games. Average again at the stripe. More like most McD teams during Hilgy era.

Back to business as usual with McD . They will be back to doing less with more as in the last 10 years, lost the guy who won it for them last two years, FO dot.

Is Gilman good?

Haven’t seen them play in person yet but if they are this good, what changed from last year?

Nothing changed from last year except their players are a year older and they return seniors. They have a good group and a good coach.

They haven't played CHC, BL, McDonogh or Loyola yet.

Kind of harsh statement, don’t you think? First off, where is the wing help? Second, did the fogo commit that penalty to give Spalding man up in overtime? darn dude.

Nobody realizes the importance of the FO position until you don’t have one. McD doesn’t have the horses on defense to hold up this year against teams with a decent offiense making possession even more important. This dot remains a glaring weakness for this team and until they gets fixed they will continue to struggle and win close games.

MSJ please look at your defense in BL game. Your defense is sliding way too early and one of the middies give up on staying with man a few times. This is pretty evident in many goals and no one playing a long stick on offense. 10 goals in first half and no adjustments Then a long stick twice does not play in 2nd half and then does not pick up screen. I get that it is BL but that’s bad. You can do better make adjustments. FYI 7 vs. BL great but need to look at whole game.

Oh welcome back to earth MSJ

Great thing is that in the madness you can count on MSJ family being down to earth-never left. Thanks now.

Above poster states MSJ is down to earth as they throw out a condescending statement....classic Catonsville.

If you want lower-level players getting time that they haven't earned, definitely consider Severn.
OC is clueless, ignoring all game stats, and refusing to consistently play the kids that impact the game.
HC is checked out. It's almost like they're trying to lose. Sadly, their season is unrecoverable.

Along with a terrible recruiting class coming in.

First wave of Corrigan All American boys came out. Already a total joke . Duenkel’s been out all year injured and Ford is no longer a top player in the MIAA. He’s not even a top player on BL. Has Firlie done anything this year other then turn the ball over taking bad shoots?

Calvert Hall and Loyola dads in a nutshell.

You could hear the Calvert Hall coaches from the other side of the field too. Why yell at kids like that? Totally over the top and unnecessary.

Stop it already, CH has the biggest mouths in MIAA from coaches and parents, it has been that way for years. Lets get on to something else that needs discussing.

Really excited to see Gilman vs St Pauls this weekend heard its Gilman's senior day and alumni weekend, those boys are going to be firing. Can't wait to see this Gilman defense vs this high-powered St Paul's attack. Gilman's defense has been a force to reckon with all year looking like men amongst boys.

The HC at Severn has done an amazing for the lacrosse program since being named HC. Unfortunately, his two new hires from last has be running the program to the ground. The OC is a Lax pro has-been and the DC is as clueless as they come. The players on the team don't respect them. I hope the HC takes control of his team back.

Has been a joke for years with that org all the back to UA. Rosters are already made up by them and "friends" , will say, there is generally one or two spots that are actually earned. Someone might want to tell them to get some integrity.

St Paul's "high powered attack" is one kid. But he is a great player.

Pretty sure they are rewarding their body of work. Kids you mentioned, Firle and Dunkel, really shined as underclassman when they were supporting cast. You can’t argue against Ford. The offense runs through him and he facilitates well. Unselfish.

Outside of the Severn Kid there isn’t much completion at the Dot in the MIAA. May be the worst group in a long time, so anyone with some talent will look like the real deal.

Whoever number 16 on BL seems like the biggest hammerhead bag in the MIAA.

Heard he’s always in the shadow of Touge and bolker

With 3 poles on the FO and 2 poles on EMO you certainly will - Lilly and Co. certainly know more than everyone else

St Pauls Parent here,

After watching the gilman vs severn game I can tell you that this is not the case. The sophomore went to battle with the senior and may not have been exactly 50% but was right there. Kids got a promising future ahead of him.

Good Grief dad , Get a grip, have your son do better and earn his spot instead of badmouthing 16. Called Compete for position, not we are all winners, and we deserve a spot !

I think the Gilman FOGO jumped offsides 10 times and was called for at least 6-7 of those 10. The Gilman fogo racked up penalties for jumping early and lining up illegally in both half’s of the game vs. Severn. Elite players don’t do this. I would not call this holding his own or even close to 50/50. These kind of 101 mistakes will not transition well at the collegiate level. Remember, MIAA refs aren’t always the best, especially when calling the faceoff rules. The facts are, the Gilman fogo is whistle skittish and reminds me of an inner circle Jermy Rallo trained player. All the ref had to do was hold the whistle for a split second and the young Gilman fogo jumped. Rookie mistake. I will say with confidence that Lord Jermy Rallo was horrible. 6 years ago I heard Rallo tell players to cheat if they can’t win in hopes the refs don’t call it, and anticipate the whistle rather than play the whistle and develop good habits.

Looks like somebody paid a lot of coaching fees and didnt get the results like they wanted, was it Rallo or your son ?
