Are we going to pretend that consistent coaching is why McDonogh is what it is, not the money, facilities, boarding and ability to just take the kids of out of state elite ncaa coaches and have them transfer in?

In all honesty, who couldn’t win consistently with those things?

As for public schools, AACo has those two dominant programs because it is the wealthiest section of the county, where lacrosse is king. 4/5 of your schedule is worthless blowout games against schools that can barely get 12 players to try out.

It’s almost as if $$ is the reason for success in both cases.

I've seen plenty of very talented teams crash and burn with bad/inexperienced coaching. When Chris Robinson took over they were bad, he quickly made them good and kept them there. When he was at Hebron they won, now they don't win. I can assure you, this season just rolling the ball out there McD wouldn't finish top 4th in the IAAM. With coaching they are the best team.

In fairness Mt. Hebron was consistently a top ranked team in the country and certainly the state before and after Robinson. It was the construction of Marriotts Ridge HS splitting the talent pool that had more affect on Hebron than anything else.

Good Counsel wins big again. Might be time to challenge McD to an end of year rematch.

Good Counsel is nothing more than a scrimmage for IAAM teams, hence the reason why games with them are scheduled as such. Go play in your mediocre conference against teams you only hear about when they play IAAM teams.

Normally this kind of comment comes from a team right above the team right above the team in question. With this kind of guy, what constitutes a good team is always one notch below wherever this parent's team is. Using that logic, I'm going with it being a JC parent.

McDonogh was a cellar dweller when Chris Robinson took over. They were awful. He quickly took them to the top of the league and for that matter the country, To win 175 consecutive games or whatever that winning streak number was is an incredible accomplishment, particularly considering the schedule they played. Taylor Cummings kept the legacy going.
