Which HSs give the most financial aid for lax? Thats a loaded question. Heard Spalding and St Mary's are drying up lately, but can't confirm. LB historically doesn't give a lot. The blast on them is that they actually prefer if you pay THEM to play. McD and BL gives for the right player and positional need. But are recruiting nationwide so chances of getting attention are slim. StP and JC have been opening up the checkbook lately. But not sure if anyone wants to play for them. Gilman and Severn simply don't give much for athletics these days. CH will spend, but all based on the position and roster need.

Overall accurate, with the added note that if the school doesn't think you'll make varsity in one of their priority sports in 9th grade, you get no athletic aid.

They just don’t recruit hard and then spend at the end. They have more 8th grade talent than any other school by far so they don’t need to recruit like a HS that doesn’t have an 8th grade. I don’t agree with how they do it, but that’s it.

Well DCE is not looking as good as everyone thought, 0-2. What could be the issue?
Also waiting for the Madlax excuse for their loss.

As for MadLax, coming within one of FCA surpassed expectations by a mile. People on this board were saying they will be a joke and obviously they aren’t. DCE just needs time to gel and needs to upgrade at a couple of positions. They will be fine. Hail to Crab and Hawks at 2-0 and looking tough.

They seemed to be generous when recruiting as they have a new coach working to rebuild their lacrosse program.

There were at least 6 kids playing for mad lax yesterday who had never been to a practice so as expected, CM played kids from out of town rather than kids on his team. Hopefully he at least told the kids ‘on his team’ that they wouldn’t play in HoCo.

At least 6. No one on this board who knows anything about Mad Lax expected them to be a joke. CM would never allow them to be a joke and he knows how to ensure they aren’t - just bring kids in to play for them. Let’s call a spade a spade at least.

Hopefully he at least told the kids ‘on his team’ that they wouldn’t play in HoCo. The vast majority of the kids on the field were local. We have two kids from out of town who played significant minutes but all of the local “starters” got at least a half of play time. Actually, several of our bench players got time since our best middie and best attack are both injured. Most of the kids who got very little play time would have gotten little even if we didn’t have the out of towners. ML’s defense and especially the goalie looked very good in the FCA game. ML also demonstrated good ball movement and competence at fo. The Achilles heel was our shooting both in the quality of shots taken and the failure to shoot when the opportunity presented itself. The prevailing sentiment on the sideline was that ML exceeded expectations. If we get our injured players back and/or improve our shooting I think there is every reason to believe that ML will have a good HOCO season. As to the question of whether the departure of players this fall hurt ML. I don’t think you can dispute that at attack and LSM we took a hit. But at defense and especially at goalie there is a marked improvement. I don’t think that point is up for debate when you consider the number of goals scored on DCE in the last two games.

Interesting to think that the BLC kids on DCE will likely set a record for most HoCo Elite losses in a career.

They’re actually pretty competitive at every position, but they had 5/6 players taking FO and I think we won all but 2 of them. it was a 1-2 goal game in the first half, and then our team seemed to overwhelm them in the second half with a lot of full field pressure. They will win games

So it looks like four teams in elite (Money, 91, MadLax, and DCE) are unproven, which in the harsh world of BOTC means they are bad, and two more teams are arguably in that same category, Next Level after their beat down by Crabs, and FCA, who could only muster a 1 goal win over Madlax. But these six teams can't all go 0-7. They will pick up wins against each other. Any given Sunday. It will be fun watching those teams grind it out among themselves for the last two playoff spots and the honor of getting their clocks cleaned in their semifinal playoff game.

I'm convinced that at least 90% of goalie posts on this forum are goalie dads trying to act like neutral third party observers, if not asking and then answering their own questions.

It’s always a bad look for better teams to hide out in the lower divisions but to do it in 8th grade is awful. Have some confidence in your boys!

Weekly Clippers plug. They jump board to board and plug clippers by saying they would dominate. Joke is, it doesn’t make you look very confident to sell yourself this way. How serious can anyone take you?

We watched the first half of the team money versus 91 game. Team money seemed to have something going but 91 apparently pulled off the win. 91 probably knew it was a must win for them. I have respect for any team willing to play in elite especially one from out of the area. The top end of the 2028 Elite division is one of the best elite lineups in years. I would rather see a team willing to be challenged then a program who just wants post about big wins against B teams.
