I wonder how final the NGLL schedule is. I could envision a scenario where, for various reasons, there need to be changes to the schedule and certain teams could benefit from that with an easier draw.

Last year there was at least one team who dropped out of A which changed quite a lot, including # of playoff spots. But as it stands, with 8 playoff spots, it's not the end of the world if a team takes a loss.

There are a few teams in the A division that need to move to B. At this point there are 18 teams in the A division and 18 in the B so NGLL might be more reluctant to move teams down. Also, with so many teams in A even the lower ranked teams will have plenty of competitive games so not as important from someone to bail and screw up the whole schedule again.

Don't think anyone was expecting 18 teams to be placed in A division, which means there will be a lot ol lopsided games, but good news is 8 teams make the playoffs so unlikely a deserving team will be left out due to unbalanced schedule. Looking at the schedule and the top 7 teams some did off a little easier than others though: Coppermine: Crush, M&D, Heros Heros: Pride, MDU, M&D, SW, Coppermine M&D: SW, Crush, Coppermine, Heros Crush: Coppermine, MDU, M&D, SW MDU: Crush, Heros, Pride Pride: Heros, MDU SW: M&D, Crush, Heros Agree there are lots of teams in A. And also that it will be good that two 6-2 teams won't be left out of the playoffs. I think the schedulers did a good job, actually. More balanced than last year. Hero's won't shy away from any of those games, and cool that they play Coppermine right before the playoffs. lost can earn a rematch a week later.

Some definitely do it for the education but there are plenty that do it just so their daughter can get a college scholarship. If you have that kind of money just to get a partial scholarship to college you are in a good position. Really talented kids will be seen through Club Lacrosse and not High School but certain HS teams will have more talented girls top to bottom.

New topic: summer all-star tournaments.
Which one--if any--are the top Baltimore-players doing? Top players from Coppermine, Hero's, M&D were notably absent from American Select last year, but several seemed to attend Athlete's Unlimited. Historically, some top players from Baltimore have done All America in their rising 9th grade summer.
So, what will the big 2028s do?

So, what will the big 2028s do? Think BIC has already been a big draw for 2028s. All the top clubs should be represented to a degree. All America is a big long shot for most in this grade because team is for 2027's and 2028's. Last year, only one 2027 made the team. Another long shot, have heard many 2028s are trying out for U16 development team. Think you'd have to be a really special player to make the team considering it's a U16 national team. But could happen. Would expect American Select to have more participation from top players than last year and AU Futures to have less. And many will opt out all together. Know DC had their American Select tryouts yesterday, curious how many turned out and was there good representation from their top clubs?

In years past the ID experience was one of the bigger events. American Select may not get popular until next summer with nobody looking at them this summer.

Lots of clubs represented, including a good number from the two VA NGLL A clubs, Pride and Stars, as well as players from YJ South, VA Metro, and True VA. On the Maryland side, some BLC, Next Level, 3D Maryland, and a rumored 1 or 2 from M&D. Should be a reasonably strong team; more competitive than last year at American Select.

The VA tryouts was mostly Pride and Stars with a few yellow jackets south and a true player or 2.

Although, the one with the driver's license may have a shot!

Go to an IAAM school for the education but is it really worth all of the expense to get a partial scholarship to college? Let’s also remember the top recruit in the nation for 25’s is at a public school- Man Valley. So it’s not a requirement to spend all the money to be able to play early in college. Nothing against either as my oldest went private while my younger decided to stay public and both having the same success. Do what is best for your child and family but don’t give into the FOMO with a sport.

And not everyone is zoned for a good public school. But some people are paying a lot of money to private schools that aren't known for high academics. The flip side of the coin is there are a lot of girls not getting much playing time at all or not getting any until Jr or Sr year who would be getting significant time at their public schools. I guess it's what you want out of your high school time

I sent my daughter to an IAAM school for both. Best decision ever made. The workload was a thousand times more challenging than the public high school she was slated for which has given her the edge in her college academics. And her ability to play against the best competition on the field in high school has her playing as a freshman at a high level D1 school. Do IAAM for whatever reason you feel is right for you. If you choose elsewhere, that’s your prerogative, but not a reason to 💩 on those of us who choose this route. Happy Friday.

Top players of M&D , Heros and Coppermine have decided. Only know a couple SW going private. It’s not even close the speed of game from public to private. So many bad habits from top players when they play weak team in their leagues.

Understand that they "have decided", but any insight into where?? Best programs getting stronger? Enough girls head to one school to suggest a tip of the balance in the next couple of years.

Alright, I'll share what I've heard in terms of girls from different teams. If any players are left out, it's not intentional, so please correct what's wrong or add what you know. SPSG already has Coppermine mid, M&D defender, Skywalkers attack, goalie, and two other players--> they added a Coppermine goalie and defender, M&D mid, Crush mid. All very talented additions. McDonogh already has M&D mid, Coppermine mid, defender, and attack --> they added M&D mid and attack. Contrary to above posters statement, both are very "worth it" Maryvale already had Coppermine mid, FCA mid, Crush attack -- > they added 2 Coppermine mids and maybe their goalie and a defender, 2 Heros mids and I think at least one other player, Skywalkers mid, and Crush player. Though future Maryvale parent above was annoying in how he said it, he's not wrong that they appear to have added the most talent to an already very good group. NDP already has Skywalkers mid, Crush attack, and probably some other players, I did not hear of them adding anyone new Mercy picked up a number of Crush players. This should be good boost for their team. Severn already had Coppermine mid, M&D mid, and a number of good MDU players -- > they added an M&D mid and Coppermine attack. This also seems to be a very good class for them. That's all I got. I'm sure there are Hero's and MDU girls going to schools in the HoCo, Annapolis, DC area, but someone else will have to fill that in.

Power Rankings: Heros Coppermine Crush M&D MD United NEMS Skywalkers All others. Agree that this list is "wrong", but will add some analysis: --Coppermine is #1 until it is taken from them on the field. Nice victory by Hero's at Mid Atlantic in the Fall. Coppermine won at Spooky Nook. Let's see after the next 2 or 3 meetings. --Hero's. Look good. Have raised their game and can be considered Tier 1 nationally with Coppermine and Eagle Stix. --M&D has done enough in the Fall to have the #3 spot. --Crush is still a good team, but a clear number 4. --MD United dropped off a bit, but #5 makes sense. --Sky Walkers had mixed results in the Fall, but remains much better than NEMS. --NEMS. Not sure why this team is in a post titled "Power Rankings", but they will get a shot to demonstrate why in the NGLL Mid-Atlantic A Bracket. If this is just Baltimore area, those are the adjustments I would make. If NGLL A for Mid-Atlantic, I would put Pride after MD United, drop NEMS, and consider 3D MD, M&D Red, Hero's White, and Stars LB.
