We all know that rankings are arbitrary and clearly they just used the standings from last year's season, but as the season didn't start yet and there is nothing measurable, it's fun to discuss. My thoughts below
#2 Mcdonogh (strong team again this year, very deep bench, but new coach)
#3 St Pauls (strong team again this year, very thin bench, strong coach)
#6 Maryvale (good team this year, young bench, great recruiting coach but no hardware yet)
#7 GCS (below average team this year, no bench- not even sure they can field a team, new coach)
#9 Spalding(good team this year, huge bench-not sure about talent,. good coach)

Biggest drop from top half of 2023- GCS will go from 11-3 to below .500
Biggest gain from bottom half of 2023- Bryn Mawr should finish above .500

Good quick observations and pretty much agree. Don't think GCS will have an issue fielding a team...THIS year (tough to build when you can't even field a JV team). Actually think they'll be decent, but middle of the pack in IAAM. But just goes to show, IL does ZERO research in making their polls.

Now that the offers are out for the Class of 28, what is considered a good offer from the coach (reduced tuition) and would it show as Merit, Presidential, or something else?

NDP has a player coming back from injury who will be a huge asset. McD now has an injured player, will it make a difference?

She unfortunately won't be enough to pull them into the championship conversation. Very good player, but still need more pieces.

If you are implying that a 1 player swing is the difference between ndp and mcd, well then I have a great bridge to sell you.

Think you’re right with McD, as their top players are seniors this year and healthy. Next year will be a different story with a big void with those players gone.

They had a deep bench for JV last year so some of those players moving up will really help.

Now that tryouts are over which schools look the strongest? Which schools have to oldest & youngest teams? Which school do you think will be the dark horse in the race?

Reese over promising kids is a spring time tradition second to none.

I would take MCD and STP as elite in the division, then I would put in AS, then I think their are group of teams that are all equal in no particular order, NDP-MV-BM-GFS-STM-JC
Would take MCD to beat STP in the Championship. Good luck to all, lets have an injury free season!!!!

The problem at NdP isn't the talent. They underachieve every year. And there's one constant.

GFS must have a donor. New coach has a transfer from Oregon and actively recruiting middle school girls at other IAAM schools.

GFS must have a big new donor. New coach CC brought in a transfer from California and is actively recruiting middle schoolers from other IAAM schools.

She'll need to recruit - I can't think of any 2028 or 2029 players at any of the top teams who attend GFS.

They are going to dominate the B conference in a year or two!

Now that’s funny and true. This is their chance to win more than lose for a while. Half their team will graduate this year with no jv. I’m sure people are lining up to be part of this.

This is why you NEVER go to a school solely for lacrosse

They're set up to follow the new BL model and wouldn't need a donor for that. Just need a few kids per year from CA, CO, OR, TX, NC etc. to board.

Does anyone know what the schedule is for the playday at Bryn Mawr on 4/20 (maybe a link) ? Or what teams are attending?

Agnes Irwin plays RPCS
Stone Ridge plays BMS
No idea who plays SPSG

There is no website or anything about it on the BMS website.

Looks like Agnes Irwin will have a long day because RPCS site still shows that is who they play also.
