This cannot be a Hero’s parent. Just someone starting trouble. Parents and players behaved great. Total respect for the Coppermine team and they are great sports and fantastic players. Will be fun to watch these two teams play this Spring and Summer. Agreed. It was a hard fought game where Coppermine got a bit behind early but never quit. It is encouraging to see such a hard fought game where the players from both teams show such good sportsmanship when it is all over. Some really great players on that field from both sides.

Congratulations to Hero’s 28 Green for winning the indoor championship. We totally dominated Coppermine in the semifinals as they are starting to implode as previously predicted. The body language on that team is as bad as it gets when things don’t go their way. Congrats on winning the championship of the 8th grade indoor league - every little girl in Maryland grows up dreaming of some day accomplishing that incredible feat

It was definitely a proud parent moment...seeing my little girl hoist the BWI Indoor Lacrosse Cup over head brought tears to my eyes. The blood, sweat, and tears all led to this moment - and she didn't disappoint!

Props to Hero's, they have a very good team that should have a very good shot at winning NGLL this year. As these girls get older they all begin to know one another and it has been a lot of fun watching the camaraderie and sportsmanship between the girls as they play each other. It really is important for the parents to help foster this culture as it will only do great things the sport.

Let's get some HOT TAKES going now that we are on the cusp of NGLL and parents are getting all lathered up!
Top 5 Power Rankings (PRESEASON) w/ commentary-
1- Coppermine- Top 8 players are all Top 100 so its theirs to lose. Biggest issue is there is only one ball. 2- Heros- Solid squad and possibly the best schemes in the 2028 group. They keep improving each season and are the only threat to Coppermine. 3- M&D- Decent talent but can they overcome the energy the HC brings. Currently lacking a difference maker which keeps them a distant #3. 4- MD United- Lost their best player but they always seem to hang in there. They will beat somebody but wont be there at the end. 5- Crush- Well coached and Blue Collar type of play. You better bring it against them of they will knock you out.
Others considered:
Skywalkers- Always a tough out but they appear to be going in the wrong direction. Not one player could start on the Top 3 teams in the league. Catching up on posts as we get close to non-Winter lacrosse. What do you mean that the Coppermine "Top 8 players are all Top 100.."? I'm unaware of player rankings at the 2028 level. Is this your personal list or something?

They do not let the competition become personal. Love watching them both play.

They have always had great players and compete as a team, but what has changed from the '22-23 season to put them on par with Coppermine and Eagle Stix?

The teams they choose to [Censored] give it away.

They don’t play baby ball, which loses its effectiveness when defenses get better and smarter.

Having watched this Hero’s team for years, it is the maturation of the players, a great scheme put in place by the coaches and having very talented players who have all bought into it and now play with confidence. They’ve had a few stumbles but they are looking very competitive now. Will be fun to watch how the NGLL goes this year.

M&D roster is filled with multi talented athletes who play other sports. A meaningless indoor game doesn’t take precedent over their winter sports.

Remember, these lists are political in nature. Doesn't mean 8 shouldn't be top 100 but it will never happen officially. These girls won't stay together through HS either. Never going to happen. Someone will be wondering why they aren't getting Draw chances or getting moved to attack when they want middie, etc.

Love it when people respond to their own messages. I wonder if this person sits in front of a bunch of mirrors giving themselves emotional support when they aren't trying to disrupt genuine respect shown by others on BOC?

Does anyone know who will be in NGLL A and B this year, sounds like a lot of teams feel the need to play in A After the top 6/7 teams of Hero's Green, M&D Black, Coppermine, Crush, MDU East, Skywalkers Blue and Pride who in the next tier of teams? Is there a team that crack in to the top group?

I'm interested in who would round it out. 3D Maryland had a good fall and would play competitively, even if they wouldn't be favored against any of those 7 teams. I assume FCA and Stars will be back, and probably Hero's White. Not sure it's the best spot for HOCO Black or successor.

Agree that is not a great look for their first recruiting class to be ranked that high with those results. Aces 2026 is ranked #2 and Aces 2027 #8 so they have a couple very strong classes coming up if they can keep it together and hopefully build on it. Coppermine 2028 will be it's first very highly ranked team to go through the recruitment process and I assume the top 8-10 girls will be fine but the girls with minimal playing time might find the process not what they hoped.
Crush 2028 will be the first team in the history of the club to make it to the recruitment years (assuming they continue as a club through high school)- I assume the coach is saying all the right things about his connections and trust him etc but with absolutely no recruitment history and possibly not attending the top recruiting tournaments, that is probably the most unknown situation if you are hoping your daughter plays college lacrosse. Very unknown. This coach gets outrecruited in his own conference. What other resources is he bringing that he can’t convert for his day job team??

Attracting players to your college and team is an entirely different scenario than helping good players get recruited to good programs.

Hearing the top player from Coppermine left to join M&D. Can someone please confirm? Must be getting close to recruiting season. You obviously don’t know anyone on coppermine or M&D or else you would know that it isn’t true Which part is not true?[/quote] We can assume maybe everyone is not always in the know in 8th grade girls lacrosse, or someone trying to stir the pot. If it is the first- yes a starter (not considered best player) left Coppermine after the fall season and has been playing with M&D all winter if that it the player you were talking about. If it is another player, you will have to provide more detail for anyone to believe you and we should stop engaging.

Don't think anyone was expecting 18 teams to be placed in A division, which means there will be a lot ol lopsided games, but good news is 8 teams make the playoffs so unlikely a deserving team will be left out due to unbalanced schedule. Looking at the schedule and the top 7 teams some did off a little easier than others though: Coppermine: Crush, M&D, Heros Heros: Pride, MDU, M&D, SW, Coppermine M&D: SW, Crush, Coppermine, Heros Crush: Coppermine, MDU, M&D, SW MDU: Crush, Heros, Pride Pride: Heros, MDU SW: M&D, Crush, Heros
