An ML parent friend who decided to stay and not leave with all the other good players told me they were disappointed CM coached after being told at the beginning of fall he wouldn't be.

I heard that Cabell hired new coaches. Was he back on the sidelines? CM is the coach, and he was torching the refs that he hired for his own tourney. As I’d they had anything to do with the 13-2 score.. T least he didn’t get bounced for shoving a ref like he did in Vail

CM and ML have been fixing their own tourneys and pool play for years. Nothing to see here. The only difference is that before, they at least had a little talent and could win a tourney from time to time. Oh well. The Burrito Supremes had a rough day in their powder puff pool, then cooked it so they don’t play Red Hots. That salsa is way too hot for Cabell (see: Naptown). Haaaa. Now that’s funny. Sunday games not any better for Cabell & Co. Got absolutely whitewashed by a team from Boston 13-2. And according to a ML parent, Cabell was on full tilt as usual. Last two games outscored 21-5. The “Burrito Supremes” experiment is off to a rough start, heard they had 35 kids on the sidelines. All those parents who paid full boat to be in Orlando at Xmas can’t be happy about all the freebies he brought in. Sandstorm in 2 weeks anyone? Anyone? Buehler? Sorry, but anyone continuing to cast their lot with that guy deserves whatever they get from him at this point.

No not sitting around looking and searching at kids social media, but the parents of the kids who post for them and happen to show up on my social media because, as we all know lacrosse is a small community is a different story. This does cause for some interest to occur. Might be a waste of time but couldn't the same thing be said about this forum? And yes my kids was asked to play on a team and declined. (just predicting what the response might be. LOL)

The elite rosters are full to over-full, they can't reclass to 2029 for club, and I can't imagine anyone who has swallowed all of CM's silliness for years but also has great perspective and would entertain the prospect of their Very Special Athlete playing anything less than elite.

The fact CM schedules all ML (“Supreme Nationals” LMAO) teams in the worst pools shows how little confidence he has in his organization. It’s laughable how obvious the scheduling fix is. Because of the cupcake pool play games, they will make the bracket at most ages, but won’t win a single championship. ML is on its way out. ML 31’s and 27’s won FWIW.

Madlax kids heading north to a new club near you before the HoCo season To go where? The elite rosters are full to over-full, they can't reclass to 2029 for club, and I can't imagine anyone who has swallowed all of CM's silliness for years but also has great perspective and would entertain the prospect of their Very Special Athlete playing anything less than elite. I'm sure the bottom feeders at Elite or top teams at AAA would entertain a few of those kids. ML is a top program run by a founder of Club lacrosse. Most of the naysayers are disgruntled parents whose children never made it past HS lacrosse. The college ranks have many ML boys. Like all you disgruntled former ML parents...You were all just like a fajita fight, you sizzled in at start , and fizzeled out in a wimper Fascinating to see people who effectively boarded the Titanic after it hit an iceberg try to rationalize their decision in real time. Fascinating to see people who having abandoned the Titanic after it hit an iceburg, try to rationalize their decisions to forsake fellow passengers by calling them names MIke Drop ! Ouch ! Yep— as it hit the floor, nobody on the Titanic’s ballroom heard it other than those helpless souls going down with the ship.

TC parent here...
Looks like the smart ML players (and parents) left before there was nowhere to land post 8th grade. Also the talented ones because they beat NL and 3d while ML enters B team tournaments (Aloha) and fixes divisions (Orlando). That's a lot of years to be disgruntled. Just ask the ML 24 parents.
Also, tell CM to stop trying to poach our players. Happy New Year.

While it appears the past and present drama with the ML 28 team certainly stems primarily from CM coaching the team, the drama with the other age groups is usually parent driven. Deserved or not, CM has made himself an easy target and many parents are quick to blame the obnoxious club director for their child’s lack of improvement or talent.

The ones I've spoken with blame him for screaming at refs, being weirdly controlling, and quiet quitting at halftime in hard games, not how their kids developed. Player development actually seemed to be something he was pretty good at, as evidenced by the fact that all of his starters left for better teams.

Does it stem from Cabell coaching the team as you say? Or is it because he’s made himself the easy target as you say? Or is it due to lack of improvement or talent, according to you? Maybe you can contradict yourself a 4th time in the same paragraph.

The point is that it’s not CM’s fault that kids don’t have talent. To some degree you’re born with it or you aren’t. And kids get better by hitting the wall and doing the extra work outside of club practice. He can’t control that, and there’s only so much any club can do to make individual kids better. But too many parents whose kids don’t have enough talent and/or aren’t working hard enough blame the club or coach for not making their kid a superstar - or not recognizing that their kid is a. superstar. Rest assured - if your kid is good, ML will play them. So will NL, DCE and all the rest.
CM’s has done himself no favors, but most of the time it’s the parents who are the problem. From the tone of your post, you’re probably one of those parents.

If there isn’t much a coach can do to make a kid better than why would you pay thousands to be on a travel team?

If there isn’t much a coach can do to make a kid better than why would you pay thousands to be on a travel team? So you can say your kid plays for a travel team...... Welcome to the DMV.. Also some kids have teammates they have been with for years and have made friendships. So that is why you see groups of kids leave teams to go to another.

Looks like someone created “the alliance” to compete with the NLF.
Should be interesting.

So its not only kids with friends leaving together to play together it's also parents who have become close leaving together. Club lacrosse is some what of a social experiment.

So its not only kids with friends leaving together to play together it's also parents who have become close leaving together. Club lacrosse is some what of a social experiment. As a parent of a son who left Madlax, I can say that the only difficult part of leaving was that I really like 90% of the parents on the team, and my son really liked the boys on the team. Having left— I still like those parents, and my son is still friends with the 6-7 boys who stayed behind. But the toxicity of that situation and that coach was unbearable and the sense of relief being elsewhere is fantastic. The new team is OK, not a bunch of world beaters, but the kids are having fun and the parents aren’t pacing the sidelines pulling their hair out. Glad we did it. Would absolutely do it again. Wish the best for those kids still over there.

Should be interesting. Isn't that a girls program? https://thealliancelacrosseleague.com/Nope. Its a new lacrosse league like the NLF. Founding teams, affiliate teams, starting this year with one Tournament in MD and more to come next year.

Alliance looks interesting. I know NL is behind it with a few others. NL has been blocked for yrs from playing in NLF, which is beyond silly. I suspect it will grow into a competitive tourney. It's close, many of the best teams are in the DMV, so it makes sense.

Would be interested to know why some of the teams that were affiliates of the NLF jump shipped to this Alliance.
