Nope. Its a new lacrosse league like the NLF. Founding teams, affiliate teams, starting this year with one Tournament in MD and more to come next year.
Some great programs associated with this new league. Hope it works out.

Literally the second or third choice team in every US market.

• 3d NE-> Rather play for Laxachussets
• BBL > Rather play for Leading Edge
• Mad Dog > rather play for anyone
• Next Level > rather play for DC Express, Crabs or Madlax
• Sweetlax- Florida team is good. Upstate, Orange Crush better
• BPG National- who? Pick any other national team
• Legacy- 91 and Express beat them at every level
• S2S- rather play for Legacy (see Legacy)
• 2Way- rather play for Primetime or Eclipse
• Team Ten- HHH all day long.
• Evolve- rather play for Edge.

Is it going to be heavily regulated grade based or free form hold back old school lacrosse. Eddie Shore, Toe Blake.

It will grow but may take time - but it is not DMV based -
Mad Dog and NL yes from the area but BBL, BPG (Dukes), Team Ten and shore 2 shore NJ/PA, Evolve - Canada, 2Way, 3D NE, Legacy, and Sweetlax - NY/CT/MA - So I would say it is more North of the DMV.

It is interesting that it will go up against the NLF for the same weekend. So LIE, Hawks, Crabs will all be there.

Hi Cabell!

Considering Madlax has dozens and dozens of kids to NL from its top teams the last 4-5 years, your theory is highly flawed.
This is 2028. The only kids Madlax has been able to attract are kids from teams that dissolved, like True and VLC, or kids who got cut from NL or DCE (fact, you know who they are).

2Way prob the best team in 2028

Sweetlax— their Navy team just made your National team look silly in Orlando. The FL and Upstate teams are both good.

Mad Dog National— great at 2028.

3D New England— they also just made your national team look silly in Orlando, that Bostons Phinest team is essentially 3D NE. Also a top 5 team in the nation.

BBL— great program, beat your Madlax Capital the last few times out. Not sure they’ve lost to Leading Edge ever, although LE just got a lot better this past summer.

Point is, this new Alliance is loaded with high quality programs, particularly at the 2028 level. Ironically, your small man personality drew this Alliance out of the woodwork by banning clubs like NL from NLF.

Would be interested to know why some of the teams that were affiliates of the NLF jump shipped to this Alliance.
This! Initial guess is the new age verification rules on 2029's and below...

But how will my neighbors and coworkers know that my son is good at sports if I’m only going to Maryland and not Florida?

For 2028s you are way off. Not a single NLF 'Original 6' team finished in the Top 10 last season. Meanwhile, this new league has four Top 10 finishers.

• 3d NE finished #3 last year while Laxachussets was #34
• BBL finished #8 while Leading Edge was #14
• Mad Dog was #16
• Next Level was #35 just behind #30 Madlax and #32 Crabs
• SweetLax was #5, with regional teams in Upstate and FL also in top 40
• 2Way was #4 well ahead of #66 Primetime and #20 Eclipse
• Legacy at #42 was well behind #11 91-Venom
• Team Ten finished at #149, but still far better than HHH at #310
• Evolve was #48 and Edge was unranked, but they're both Canadian so who cares.

My guess is The Alliance will have same age verification as NLF, which is basically none at the 2028 level.

Hi hammerhead,
Youre funny. Your dislike of Cab blinds you. Remove Madlax from the equation and the Alliance is still the 2nd or 3rd choice team for kids in each market. And stop using national teams to say they are great.

The hammerhead is actually spot on with his assessment. The only clown who would take the time to try to bash an effort by all these top tier programs to establish a new alliance to host great tournaments is somebody who would feel threatened by this. So, Cabell, just sign your name to your post. Any sensible lacrosse parent or coach would applaud an effort to organize more high level tournaments like this one should be. Not bash it.

Further irony is, your partners at NLF are trying to figure out how to get rid of you. Toxic.

Crabs, 91 , hawks all will avoid it, they dont get to dictate the terms and teams they play now, they stay away.

The new league will always be playing second fiddle to the Crabs, Hawks, FCA, ML and rest . Get over yourself. They are what the poster said. 2nd and 3rd choice teams . Keep it real.

Pretty slick videos and some awesome competition w/ new Alliance. With 3Way and 3D New England involved, I'm sure this will be better run than other lacrosse leagues Hope it works out too. In need of a real quality league. https://thealliancelacrosseleague.com/.

Any word on why teams are jumping from NLF? I have my guesses, but does anyone know for sure?

What a plant. Whatever team you work for - probably got washed by a non NLF team at 2028.

My son’s team played in the NLF summer event last 3/4 years. Can honestly say it was the WORST run event we’ve experienced, bar none, since we started playing elite level lacrosse. The facilities at UMASS were horrendous, only surpassed in the horrendous department by the fields around Lehigh this past summer.
This new alliance will have an immediate leg up on NLF if they can find a proper venue.

I doubt it, unless some of the ML kids are real stand outs or there were some injuries from winter sports.

Youre funny. Your dislike of Cab blinds you. Remove Madlax from the equation and the Alliance is still the 2nd or 3rd choice team for kids in each market. And stop using national teams to say they are great.
Signed,
Not a hammerhead like you

What a plant. Whatever team you work for - probably got washed by a non NLF team at 2028.

Sorry your son couldnt make a NLF team, this league is setup for people like you. The ones that couldnt make top club teams, but want to sit in stands and pat each other on back how great your team is.

Nope. Its a new lacrosse league like the NLF. Founding teams, affiliate teams, starting this year with one Tournament in MD and more to come next year.
Some great programs associated with this new league. Hope it works out.

Literally the second or third choice team in every US market.

• 3d NE-> Rather play for Laxachussets

Spot On !! League wont last two years

No, it's only a handful of kids, and many of them already tried out for these teams at the end of summer so they're known quantities. I know people keep writing that more kids will leave for the spring, but all of the elite rosters are full to over-full, so I'm not sure where they would go.

Quantifiable facts that blow a hole through Cabell’s claim that these are all just “2nd and 3rd options in every market.” If so, they’re better options than the ones He sees as #1. What a clown….or should I say, Hammerhead

Win win for the boys to have another tournament. More exposure for the sport regardless of who thinks which teams are better.

The biggest Hammerheads on here are those dads who think college coaches are watching/scouting 8th grade lacrosse. The biggest offenders are the Red Hot Dads.

The new league will always be playing second fiddle to the Crabs, Hawks, FCA, ML and rest . Get over yourself. They are what the poster said. 2nd and 3rd choice teams . Keep it real.

I like how you tried to sneak ML in there with Crabs, Hawks and FCA.

HHH all day long? questionable at the '28 age group. I don't believe they have a team this year.

Team Maryland looked pretty good this fall. I did notice one of their best players has been playing for ML Surpremes. Not sure what that means for spring.

Yes, and ML lost almost all of its starters to DCE and NL, meaning you don't even have to look at rankings to know that it is at best the 3rd choice in the DMV market.

But they are still above teams like Team Virginia/Hammers and True NOVA. Keep in account that DCE and NL have "B" teams and those kids might see ML as a way to get there. So it should be interesting on who ML can talk into moving.

Offseason can't end soon enough. This board has been rehashing the same subjects for months now. Speaking for myself, this is my last kid through the process and I'm definitely stoked for the focus to shift away from club ball onto HS. Far less politics and insanity in HS ball, only thing that matters there is performance on the field. Good luck to everyone and your young superstars this spring and summer.

If you think HS lax involves “less politics” you are out of your mind. I’ve had 2 run through the HS ranks and it gets ugly, it gets competitive and there is a ton of back stabbing.
If you can’t this board, you are in big trouble w HS…
Bueno suerte

agree, one of the best thing about travel lacrosse programs is that they prepare kids and families for the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of HS sports.

I have a kid at big HS program and I have a 2028, and yeah, HS lax has less politics than the club scene, by far. It's possible that one person's experience is different from your own. Especially in this grade year, if you're at one of the Hoco elite teams in Moco/NOVA, it's been basically a constant flow of gossip/player movement/disgruntled parents for the past 3-4 years. I stand by what I wrote, 100%. I'll deal with the "big trouble," thanks and appreciate the warning dude.
