I'd love to see a spreadsheet on what area commits are from, seems like majority is from Md, LI and Conn... of course there's other areas.. just a quick observation on 25 class recruits to date

I listened to an interview one of the top 2025's did regarding her recruitment. She had a million offers but took 3 official visits to Maryland, Clemson, and UNC. She stated that Maryland was a consideration mainly due to their history and past glory. Said the coaching staff was nice and she liked the campus. Although she didn't say it, it was obvious she liked it the least of the three options.
I'm bringing it up because i think what these recruits say gives valuable insight into alot of things we discuss here. We can all have opinions but when information is coming from the source itself, it's hard to dispute it. And This recruit was not a Maryland girl.
My takeaway is that Maryland will always be on the list for top girls. That's not changing. The issue is, as others have already pointed out, the campus and the town in general. Recruits may just be in favor of warmer places or a campus they deem nicer or one with better facilities. Cathy is a wonderful coach and person by all accounts so i don't think there is toxicity within the program or bad culture. However, the bigger problem for Maryland going forward is that despite being on everyone's list, they aren't top 2. They 3 or 4 in some cases dead last. She stated that Clemson was her second option.
Which brings me to my other point, Clemson. They were on alot of top girls lists. For a program that just played it's first season that's already impressive. If they have one good season where they make some noise, the flood gates will open and that program will ascend to contender status rapidly.. and that will be bad news for Maryland because it would mean more competition.

LOL,, theres 62 counties in NY State, so LI's 2 counties makes up slightly more then half the commits out of the other 60... And that half other than Long Island is close to or more than the other states specifically CT. NY has over 25% of the commits right now.

I detest that someone asked for this, looks like my expense report for last month needs to wait. I didn't break down Long Island vs New York but note that the population of LI is roughly 1/3 of NY's total population(Data from Lax Numbers and US Census) *note that when you sort Lax Numbers by state it will both include if the state of residence but also the location of the College so I had to download and sort the data differently but actual location(ex. If you drop down CT, it will include girls from CT and also girls going to Yale)
Also, I included 2024 total commit % to show more data and early vs late commits.

With this being the last fall season for the 25's, I wanted to wish all of the girls a successful and injury free season. Congrats to the girls that have already committed and best of luck to those still on the prowl.

Of the 90 - 38 are not from Long Island. Almost half. Most of that is Between the NY Primetime kids, Monster and Salt City. So yeah. If youāre adding CT in there with 20sometthing, NY isnāt just LI. Thanks!! So what you're saying is more than 1/2 the NY kids are from LI.... Haha. You can read. But you comprehending doesnāt seem to be strong But the original post didnāt mention the rest of Ny. He said that it looks like most of the kids are coming from LI MD and CT. And I rightfully added that there was more kids from NY outside of CT. Specifically upstate nY. But thank you for jumping in. Smh so what you're saying is majority of NY kids already committied are from 2 counties in NY state.. ii mean, just to clarify the OP No. Upstate and Long Island are about as far apart as can be. And Long Island is 2 different counties not 1. Upstate has about multiple. Are you breaking down counties with Maryland? Once again, and for the last time. The original post said the majority of commits were from MD LI and CT. I pointed out that they left out the rest of NY which outside of LI had more commits than CT and almost as much as MD. And that it came from two areas. Westchester and Upstate, which are also nowhere near each other.

Thereās three places that are hotbeds in NY. Obviously Long Island which is a huge area. Westchester and then Upstate NY. It sure if the OP mentioned it but NJ had more than CT as well.

A lot of people care. Many families chose schools based on how few Long Island kids go there. No one wants to play with those obnoxious girls.

As a life long New Yorker from Bklyn, I do agree with Long Islanders being a bunch of āFLIDSā but I disagree with people are not choosing schools because they are littered with Long Islanders.

It's a ridiculous statement. Good luck finding even a decent team that doesn't have a few LI players on it. And Baltimore and Philly girls are never obnoxious or entitled.

You do have to admit, the Long Island Parents are insufferable. No issue with the Prime Time parents or Monster parents, but YJ parents have to be the worst.

We were at one visit and the YJ parents spent 10 minutes telling the coach how their daughter was ready for college because sheās been playing for a college coach for so long and how great LI lax is compared to everywhere else. Iāve never seen so many coach eye rolls and oblivious parents not responding to physical cues in my life. Not sure if she got an offer, but I would have asked them to leave the visit if I was the coach.

MD parents making fun of LI kids......pretty pathetic In fairness to me, I really never made fun of the kids, I attacked the FLID parents. I remember one winner was telling a few lowly NJ parents about how Troy Aikman flew his daughters team to NJ to play against the YJ 2024 team in a tournament. Had to be 7th grade. This winner goes, āAfter the game, Troy Aikman thanked some of the parents because they couldnāt get any real competition in Texas and he said āNow I know what real lacrosse looks like.āā Guy was a clown. Few years later, same guy, running his mouth on the sidelines. Iām sure this happens everywhere, just seems the YJ parents are more like a word that rhymes with loosey.

Definitely some maryland clubs faired better than others in the recruiting processā¦ When looking for a club I would highly recommend looking at their previous commits from year to year. If possible talk to multiple parents from different grad years. Do not just listen to the sell from the club director. Obviously for 25's this information is too late but I would pass it along to anyone that is still looking for a club.

I think we could all come together and write a short novel of the do's and don'ts of club lacrosse.

Does anyone have the numbers of girls committed from each of the programs?
M&D: X out X Girls Heros: X out X Girls SW: X out X girls
I would assume most of the girls are committed, I felt like all of M&D was committed by October 15th last year.
