Maybe 91 realized they barely won anyhting last year and other teams are improving. Protect the brand. The 2029 Express team hasnt won anything either So disparage the tourney this year like Denver wasnt expensive?

If NLF is the be all / end all, why would Venom blow it off? Is it because they lost to a “little brother” club and couldn’t stomach playing another game two weeks later? So much emphasis is put on this one silly tournament and if some can’t be king of the sandbox, they take their toys elsewhere.

You’re about as sharp as a spoon… keep running to that New Balance store, while your kid rides the bench. Or, are you afraid you can’t win against a level playing field? Downgrade from your Range Rover and stop making excuses!!! What is the biggest selling point of the World Series? On age lacrosse NLF is ON AGE lacrosse this year for 2029 and below. You can talk all you want, but the NLF Championship is widely regarded as one of the top 2 or 3 tournaments of the year. Also, on Long Island. See you there in July. Both Express & 91 as well as the other non LI big name club that is dropping the World Series will be there.

The simple fact is that the current organization that runs the “new” WS at least in the short time thus far runs it as a “cheapened” version of the former organization. The best teams other than from the northeast - rarely attend. As far as knocking 91 and or Express, there are no teams in the Tri-State area that has had more success including tournament championship appearances and or wins the past 5 years. Lots of bold talk as always, but the cream will always rise to the top and that cream is 91 and Espress.

No one is telling you how to spend your money... one word, fundraise!!! Imagine you actually having to do something to help your sons team raise money so they can participate? Maybe downgrade from your Range Rover to something more economical and save a few bucks? Stop making excuses! Or, maybe you're just worried your team won't qualify without those reclasses? Your answer is have other people pay for it? Lol

Teams opting not to go to the WS has nothing to do with cost. It's been a known cost for a many years now, and anyone in the lacrosse world knows that. Certain teams are now afraid of the parity now and their inability to walk all over teams without their reclass players. What does being afraid to lose a competitive lacrosse game say about your organization?

Please name one on-age “good” team that didn’t attend last year? You can’t, because the hawks, crabs, red hots, 3dNE, etc, etc, all had kids too old to compete. That is the reason they didn’t compete.

Sounds like a lot of excuses to me. Sounds more like those teams are too worried about getting upstaged by other teams in the country who have closed the gap. Put your money where your mouth is!

Is Rebels Black kidding with a docuseries. Now that the good teams are bailing out of the WS they think they are going to qualify. Again, why is this team not named Rebels Black/91 Empire? It is not a true team made up of Rebels players. Even has a 91 Empire coach. I guess DS can do whatever he wants. Whole family is a joke just like the Rebels program.

Exactly why this tournament is a joke compared to others. Rules aren’t followed at this tournament like all the rest. Combining teams, forming a special team, all the sneaking in older kids, not even reclassified kids flat out older kids! We keep crying about southern states, while we do the same thing!! Just saying

Rebels Black is new team this year. Kids from last years Rebels Central , East and kids from other clubs including Empire. This is not just for WS, it’s a team , that will compete with all. It’s called Rebel Black. New year, new team, all on age, and practicing 3 times a week. What exactly are they doing wrong.

Team will be better with the new coaches but they still have a ways to go to compete with the better LI teams (91, Express, Igloo and Moose). Let’s see how they do when they play some real AA tourneys and some tough teams like Madlax, Eclipse or Leading Edge. The documentary should be entertaining but highlights reels from practice don’t win games!

I'm not sure they're too emotionally invested but what's the obsession with Rebels Black anyway? Who cares. Every team gained / lost some players and the competition should be fairly good and the gap has definitely closed. Isn't this supposed to be about 7th grade boys playing a game they enjoy and having fun? Isn't the WS about the experience? All these comments are ridiculous and I feel dumber for having read them - lol.

I’ve heard the tourney season cutoff is 6/1/10 but the Regional qualifiers and WS is 9/1/10 which makes more sense but could also disqualify a bunch of older players (as it should). Does anyone know if this is true? It’s pretty funny how scared some of these teams are to play against a level playing field; you know who you are.

NLF is 6/1 for 2029s. Also right on their webpage. I don’t think LI teams are using holdbacks like other clubs from the rest of the country. If you said that kids wouldn’t qualify because they are beyond the 100 mile radius, then i think you would be closer to right as a couple of teams have out of state players. I don’t think any LI teams are scared of any other LI teams. They all play different schedules and tournament groupings depending on club allegiances and tournament ownerships.

I’d suspect that if the NLF cutoff is 6/1, certain teams will talk it up and berate the qualifiers and WS because they know the 9/1 date will impact their team and they’ll have kids who are ineligible, and therefore, not able to run through teams. It’s sad that youth lacrosse has come to this and that the arrogant, pathetic parents living vicariously through their child, can’t handle parity. More pathetic is the fact these same teams are using location and cost as an excuse. What happened to competition? Maybe spend more time teaching your kid how to lose with dignity? What a concept that would be.
