What is wrong with you people? No kid is getting recruited at the Circuit. Any [Censored] dad telling you that is wrong! The Circuit is pay to play stop trying to make it more that what it actually is.

Let’s be clear. The cutoff in NY and CT is September 1. Always has been. I grew up in NY and now live in CT. These Long Island posters pretending they don’t have holdbacks is a joke. Is it more rampant at younger ages us MD? Yes.

As a poster very accurately stated above, this sport is run by the private schools who by and large want the holdbacks.

The place you don’t see holdbacks? The Public schools buy even that is changing (in CT Darien has been doing it for years). Others are now joining the party by sending their kids to private school for 1 year just to re-enroll them back in the public school a year later - repeating the grade they just finished. If you have $50k and that’s how you want to spend it, go for it.

Fair or unfair? Who cares.

If you are a 28 parent, it doesn’t really matter anymore.

If you have young kids, it does matter up until 8/9th grade and I’m happy they are moving to age verification.

Strongly agree with one exception. I would only argue that the holdbacks and pg years are driven by parents recognizing that colleges prefer kids a year older. The private schools are just providing what their customers want.

Losing every rep to a kid 2 years older, 16 inches taller and 80lb heavier, with a mustache, will certainly motivate most 12 year olds to get it in gear. Where's the office for your sports psychology practice, I'll bring my kid after school today for more hot takes.

In years past, they’ve dodged the system by calling themselves the Monuments or whatever when they lost. This fall, they’ve withdrawn from real tournaments (MD Invite) to play B team events (Aloha) instead… they might actually be headed for AAA next HoCo!!

Zero chance they move down in HoCo. They will not consider it and will do whatever it takes to keep them competitive there. There should be a roster check and an age verification before every single game. Just like soccer, just like football.

Aloha tournament is low B level. If they’re playing in this, who’s the thjnk they won’t opt for AAA? Clearly some real panic over at Madlax.

You’re right, maybe it wasn’t the dad and instead some totally unrelated person decided to single out a randomly chosen player as the absolute best at his position despite no evidence, defended that arbitrary position over multiple posts, also had intimate knowledge of the player’s prior and current teams, and just happened to pick someone whose father has a history of weird behavior like this.

Both possibilities seem equally likely.

Playing in Aloha is basically saying..I give up on competitive lacrosse.

Cabel and Millon have both managed to assemble large cult followings of from grown men and women who are obsessed with their every move so much so they run to a message board to post INCESSANTLY.

excellent point. the worst thing for a travel program is to be unknown and irrelevant. thanks to the zillions of people who dislike those two, they will never have to worry about that happening!
