Not much chatter recently about TG at this age. How did their tryouts go? Expected to have a stronger season?

This is the summer where it all starts to change. Look to your left, look to your right. Those girls are competition. Nobody cares about tourney titles. Limited fall and spring practices because of high school sports. Your coach can only recommend a certain amount of players for showcases. College coaches that call next year will want a small handful of names. Stop caring about the roster, winning and losing. It's all about your daughter.

Can you elaborate on coach recommend for showcases and college coaches asking for names?

Not sure any of them are "stars", but they are all solid players. Hard to really know what you have from Legacy girl -- she probably has the most upside and the best physically, but hard to evaluate with so little talent around her.

The middle from Legacy is the best of the 4 new players by a decent amount, though I agree she is likely moved to attack at YJ.

For any of the big invite showcases, juniors open, UA 150, Best In Class, club directors pretty much decide who on their club goes. For Juniors open and BIC, club directors submit a ranked list; for UA150, after applications, club directors are asked to ranked everyone from their club based on their recruit ability.

For example (and Im making these numbers up), YJ may be 12 spots at an invite for , Heros may get 8, Steps may get 6 and Legacy may get 2, , etc. It's up to the director who gets the spots.

On Instagram, you have already seen some of the early invites for Best In Class and Juniors Open, those were the girls at the top of their clubs' lists.

Its not the end of the world not attending these events, but it you aren't a starter on a top team, you have pretty much no chance of ever getting invited.

What’s the difference between the Players Open in October and the Juniors Open in June? LILJ runs it now?

Players Open is coached by college coaches so anyone can sign up. Juniors is invite-only with coaches watches but being coaches by mostly local coaches and current college players.

No coaches are looking at this grade, even next summer. Good events if your daughter wants extra reps but that's all it is

Coaches aren't looking at them live, but they will look at film from this summer early next fall. If you regularly play on a top 10 team, you probably already have good film, but if you play on a lower level team or ride the bench on a top team, this is an opportunity to get some good film.

Also, playing well at one of these events pretty much guarantees you getting into it the following year for when it matters. Not a big deal for top players on top teams, but can help others.

Disagree. YJA got 3 quality girls (I haven't seen the 4th play so I can't comment on here), but they are unlikely to be starters or play minutes in key games.

Jesters probably got 3 or 4 girls who move into starting lineup immediately.

While the YJA bench is head and shoulders better than anyone else, the gap between YJA starters and Jesters narrowed (though YJA still the most talented team).

Jesters got more talent this year than YJ though. The two other tradition stars, one of the best on liberty, star goalie from FLG with one of their main attackers, and two middies from FLG.

The reason they haven’t fixed it or started a new in has to be because a certain matinee idol of a coach’s daughter is a top recruit and they do t want to have to disapprove post after post. Come to think of it, I’d be surprised if they let this one through

Out of curiosity, what happened to Liberty during the tryout season? I know their star left, but did the rest of the key players stay around. They finished the summer pretty strong.

I got an email for my daughter to APPLY for Juniors. I don’t think it’s invite only.

They still need to invite you after you apply.

For anyone that has been to presidents cup previously with older daughter, does presidents cup use tourney machine? Or TSIC? and when do they typically post the game schedules? 2. Weeks out? 1 month out? Randomly? TYIA

Presidents cup uses TSIC.

Schedules usually come out 3 weeks in advance, though they often change until the Wednesday of the week.

Also, the parking there usually involves shuttle buses. So you need to arrive at fields at least 90 minutes before the games.

Are you asking about Debut or Presidents Cup?

Debut is usually a smaller more management event with only about 50 teams and at a smaller facility (Sportsplex).

The main Presidents Cup are at other facilities around Tampa and are much more of a zoo. Another poster mentioned shuttle buses.

Supposedly, schedules will be posted by next Friday, however, schedules for these tourneys change a lot.
