Let’s try this again, since the original thread seems to be broken. Any thoughts/comments from parents of 2028 B Division girls??

Agreed, it was a hard fought game by both sides and fun to watch! Both teams should be proud! I hope M&D represents the Mid-Atlantic region well at the National Championship and brings home the win!

Glad there is a thread for these girls. Saw some of the M&D VS Coppermine game. M&D pulled away early and has a couple of really strong players. Good luck at the championships!

M&D Red has 3 girls at least who are too good to play at this level.

Good them to them at Nationals. They will need to play their best to have a chance against Eagle Stix B who is probably the best B team in the country.

The NGLL National Championship schedule is out and it looks like Eagles Stix B didn’t even make it…

If you look at the regular season NGLL for GA, there were only two teams…Eaglestix and Beast. Beast beat Eaglestix in the only regular season game which is why they’re going and not EagleStix. The game wasn’t even close either. They lost 5-15, so I don’t think they’re the best B Division team in the country.

How did Lax Impulse go for everyone? Do you think the fact that HoCo Black played against all B level teams, this means they will play in B next season? They did go 1-7 this past NGLL season but still had several teams end below them…hopefully there will be a C division introduced this year.

CCLax and Next Level played in other divisions so I don’t think that means much. They are both A teams

If you look at Standings and then click on Full Standings, you will see there were four different divisions based on the skill level that coaches submit when registering their team.

There were 8 A teams in 3 different divisions at Impulse

The interesting thing about teams submitting to a tournament director the skill level or bracket preference, it doesn’t always work out to what you’d want for your team. They place you where they place you and can be frustrating all the way around.

M&D families - can someone explain the different 2028 teams? It seems like Red and Black will both play in A next year, what about the new West team? M&D Shore will stay in B? Will Red players move up or will the team stay the same? Is the West team already formed or looking for players? Any other good B teams looking for players? Thanks.

West is basically just HoCo Pink. Seems they were unhappy and are moving as a team but will still add people that want to join.

Makes almost no sense to bring a team that’s unhappy to a new program together. M&D did this to LbC as well. M&D the only winner as they get you tryout money and dues and all the attention still goes to Black

Our interpretation is that M&D Black is A, M&D Red is B and M&D West is C. Who knows where they will play but it seems that’s the order within the club

Doesn't M&D Red have to move up to the A division next year because they won B?

Correct on the M&D teams positioning. Black is their A team, Red is B team and their new "west" team is either a VERY low B team or probably more of a C team. Complete money grab by M&D (again)

The other question is, what is happening at HOCO? This is the second team that has moved over.

They lack commitment of other programs.

25 team dropped significantly over the last year after a few left, including a student to M&D Black. 24 Black went from winning MidAtlantic in 2018 to not even existing by fall 2022.

TLC did it with multiple folding teams. Bring them as one team then sort out after that (if i player deserved to be on their Red team).

Is hoco 28 black also folding? Where will those girls go?

I heard Integrity may make a “blue” team so maybe there… on either team. I would think the new M&D West team will pick up a bunch of HoCo girls even if they don’t fold.

Integrity did not have any goalies tryout last year…what changed? What makes you think they will have enough players or goalies to make two teams?

True Coast folded …they told parents two days ago. Recommended that they take those girls to MDU (owned by True). Will there be enough for MDU to have 3 2028 teams? Or will those girls go somewhere else?

Much movement with players on B teams? Would NGLL consider making 3 divisions? Seems like a big divide between the top teams and lowest teams.

There are plenty of teams for 3 divisions, it would benefit everyone.

Thoughts...is it better for a player to get playing time as a starter on a B team, or be a 2nd or 3rd tier player on an A team at this age?

Absolutely! Girls aren’t developing sitting on the bench. When it comes time for recruiting you are more likely to be seen playing on a B level team then sitting the bench on an A team.

Any 2028 openings for a midfield/attack player?
