My son also plays both and it's fine. However I do see how Rec programs are not taken seriously especially when they are not invited to certain tournament for being club. There needs to be a place for bth to compete at an equal level.

There needs to be a place for bth to compete at an equal level. If you have a place for both competing at the same level then essentially every player is playing club level lacrosse. That is exactly the problem. Not every kid has the ability to play club and that is OK, we want those kids to continue playing at a level that is the best fit for them. Putting those kids in a tournament with real club kids will make them want to quit entirely. The bottom 2/3rd of club teams are rec level players paying 10x the fees they should. It would be in the parents and kids best interest to return those kids and teams to healthy rec programs. It would not be in the best interest of club directors and tournament organizers though. The same issue exists for soccer, and it's even worse.

So how is the dust settling after tryouts? Who improved..........who got worse?
HAWKS - Lost goalie for HOCO...heard he will play in tournaments. Picked up some new talent for sure. MADLAX - ? NEXT LEVEL - ? TRUE CHES - Definitely improved! CRABS - ? FCA - ? VLC - They may be falling out of the elite division after the exodus. Sounds like they are back down to 1 team. TEAM 91 - Going to be a extremely long season. Lots of transition. PREDS - Definitely got better picked up some studs.

FCA - Lost there big lefty attackman and goalie to age verification. Lost a few to PREDS. Next Level - Lost two players to age verification. Picked up a couple studs though. LTLC/Crabs - Heard they lost there goalie to Preds, but picked up a couple new offensive players that were playing up on Crabs 2028.

Preds picked up fca long pole that wants to play attack, Also picked up some boys looking for more playing time. Ended up picking up LTLC 2nd goalie. Not the starter. But not sure if it is confirmed where he will end up according to friends of parents. He was looking at FCA. Preds seem to promise some kids starting positions. not sure on which team. When will it be confirmed if they will play elite because they have told players that their second team is AAA. Hope it doesn't fall through. It would be a shame for players. They will improve this year.
FCA lost there age verification kids. Lost some players to other teams. Looking to fill in some spots. Picked up a player from LTLC not sure if FCA will carry two teams.
LTLC kept most of their team. Had a couple players leave looking for more playing time. Looking for a second goalie still. Added some new players. Should remain the same as last season or better.

One thing I really like about this age and teams is how the teams are getting better through specific positions and team building. You can really see which players have played together for a really long time and those teams that have had limited time together. Hawks seems to have had a solid core of the same players by how they perform on the field, and understanding each others roles. LTLC has a solid core from years ago and has the ability to add players and get them in the rotation fairly quick and up and running. True Chesapeake is the same way with having a solid core. FCA has had some work horses that seemed to carry the team but with those players leaving not sure who will carry the weight or step up as leaders. FCA does some good team building stuff but will it be enough for the following year. Predators and True Baltimore are up in the air since it will be bringing in so many players and understanding each other may be difficult.

Millon staves off the collapse of his 29 team for another by absorbing Kelly Post. However, adding a bunch of KP players won't make 91 Elite. This program won't get back on track until MM moves the team down to AAA and lets the kids develop. Right now, 91 is a great way to get your kid to quit lacrosse. Not gonna happen. A key part of Millon's model is that "every one of our teams plays at the highest bracket available." Yes they may only score 5 goals per calendar year and win 0 games, but they play elite competition and by the way have you seen our 2023 and 2025 teams. This is important because it keeps the engine running (and funds coming in) until HS when all these kids will be gone, and Millon will fill the gaps with local and out of state private school kids who can play at a high level. The sales pitch after a 9th grade full of new kids, and good wins, will be "see, you parents of 2038 grads, we've developed these 2029 kids since 3rd grade." 91 only wants what is best for players, They play elite to get better. Proof is in our teams, look at how they play Yeah Mark, getting whooped by 12 points every week really helps with offensive IQ and stick skills. Aside from the 2023 and 2025 rosters, the 91 kids "getting better" on the youth teams are cut after 8th grade...I'm sorry..."given their realistic options for next season." The 2029 team has had something like 160% turnover in the past 24 months. How are you developing those players, exactly? Were the KP kids advised that the roster will be 32 kid's by June, and 2/3 of the KP kids won't be invited back next July? Or did they buy the development sales pitch.

Didn't know King Crab was posting on 2029 board. LTLC/Crabs lost their best player/middie and some other key pieces. It would be very surprising if they did not take a healthy size step back. We'll see in the fall. More focus on your team and less on Preds & FCA, King Crab. Preds & FCA will both be fine. Meanwhile, Crabs will look forward to cutting half the LTLC team next year (like they did at the 2027 and 2028 levels this year, and last year, and do pretty much every year at the middle school level.) Heavy heavy churn at the Crabs. Don't know who is in for a ruder awakening, the KP boys that fell for the 91MD sales pitch or the LTLC boys that have fallen for the Crabs pitch.

Or the FCA, Preds, true, madlax 91 hawks pitch. Every team has a pitch. Leave it on the field from year to year. Players switch leave and even decide not to play. I am surprised how personal adults take this s#%^. If this banter make you jolly keep going. Let people choose what they want. And let kids play. Learn how to make positive observations and make this a good experience for your player. On I also heard that you get a major award for being a fool.

Is that true?

There is an advantage and everyone knows it. Holdbacks are here as long as there are college coaches who dont care about what age a freshman is. Frankly, they would rather them be older. MIAA is a prefirst rich environment to give boys an advantage, not stopping because of some lacrosse rules to make things fair LOL

Dont get upset with me, get upset with the process.

He will go to the college of his choice based on academics and continue playing lacrosse if he wants. Not upset at all, just a bit shocked by how delusional some are regarding youth sports. No one will give a s$&@ when he’s 24 unless his goal is to make 30k in the PLL.

Besides some Long Island boys, the teams are loaded with private school holdbacks . D2 and D3 need players too. Whatever helps you sleep at nigh Holdback Dad, and sorry your kid couldn’t cut it with his peers that must have been so devastating for you. Comforting knowing that D1 is in his future . Top player at his age, Superstar player after being reclassed. Expect him to start no later than a Sophomore in MIAA. That is how many do it today. Not alone. Dont get upset with me, get upset with the process. Gotcha, Superstar sixth grader that should be in 7th, that definitely projects to a no doubt D1 recruit. It’s clown show in here today.

Wow this convo. is so amusing. Entering 7th grade and the expectations and the projections for players seems high. Hey maybe next week your kid will get an endorsement from axe deodorant or maybe even Pokémon go.

Let’s get somewhat back on topic. Post tryouts and player movements, what are the projections for next year? Will 91 stay in elite? Will Preds move up? Will the mid / bottom of elite make a run?
