Big changes as Heros gets a bunch of girls including some M&D black players who had enough of the sideline bickering of daddy Barney Rubble.

What was the overall movement of girls among the top clubs? Who got stronger and got weaker overall as a team? Heros benefitted the most with all of the movement from M&D and Coppermine. They gained 3 M&D players and a strong Coppermine defender. Heros will continue to be unstoppable.

One M&D Black went to Heros white. 2 Coppermine girls went to Heros Green. The middie from Coppermine was probably their best add and will help them the most. 2-3 girls from Coppermine and 1-2 from M&D went to SW. M&D added a Heros Green player, Coppermine player as well as some girls from other clubs, including girls from Virginia and Colorado (if their website is correct). Not surprising for M&D to add out of state players but surprising it happen in MS. Heros added talent to an already talented team. Coppermine and SW had the biggest “changes” and time will tell how it works out for them. This is common though. Those who have been around know this so, unless this is your first kid in club lax, you wouldn’t consider this a lot or uncommon. However, movement this year and next (May see even more) is very common as families try to find homes before HS and recruiting. Won’t know how any of these changes impacted teams till games are played this fall. Should be interesting. Good luck to everyone!

This was obviously written by an M&D parent/coach trying to rewrite the facts. M&D roster does not even indicate hometowns. Several M&D players didn’t even go to tryouts because they were so fed up. MD United got one, Heros got 3 at least, SW got at least 2, Coppermine got at least 1. No coppermine players went to SW blue. One coppermine defender went to M&D black. Heros benefited the most.

Assuming about is correct. If you look at where those 7 kids went, 3 went to A level top clubs (2 heros green, 1 MDU). The others went to a B team (1 heros white), 2 to SW (arguments have been made on where they fall A or B) and one went on age to Coppermine 2030. Not sure how much those last 4 will really impact them if their landing place was on teams outside the top 50. Heros got 2 starters and very good players. Agree they benefited the most and will be hard for M&D to replace as one was the best attacker in 2029.

1 coppermine player went to coppermine B. Cop and M&D both gained a few Legends girls. M&D, Cop, Heros (in that order) have the most new players on their rosters. SW only got 2 new players. Apparently the M&D goalie was also going to SW after tryouts but the M&D coaches and girls convinced her to retract the commitment when she played in their last tournament. M&D conveniently schedules a tournament after tryouts are over, making girls who are planning to leave vulnerable for bullying.

They used that same tournament to strong arm a midfielder into staying on their team when she was planning to go to coppermine.

One thing about SW that no one can refute is that when compared to all other girls clubs they are far superior in their goalie training program. surprising that the 2029 team has struggled with goalies given the number of goalies who get D1 recruited from that program. Doubt they’ll struggle for long as these players are getting older and their families will begin to look at recruiting stats.

I know they've had some nice goalies come through there but so have other clubs, M&D, MD United amongst them. I do think playing on an elite team young is actually bad for goalies. You want the goalie seeing shots, seeing one v one situations. Playing on a top-5 team, how many games is the goalie even involved?

It’s not the 1st time this has come up and I agree. Neighbors older daughter plays goalie for one of the other 2 clubs you mentioned and he always says if he could go back and change anything it would be to not let the middle school rankings hold weight in their club decisions. he’s paid a fortune to get her where she is when he says it would have been free at SW. does the $ put into the training justify the end results for a high ranking middle school team? He says that he would have put her in SW in middle school instead of where they are because the training is the best plus those goalies have the best options with recruits. Also heard similar things about the goalie program at MDU but not sure if they put as much time into training them individually as they do at SW. SW or MDU sounds like the best choice if you’re a goalie serious about playing in college.

only a couple of weeks left until the first tournament of the year for some of the top squads in the country when they square off at National Fall Lax Fest. Lots of additions at clubs all over the place. Who rises above it all for the first showdown? Some obvious favorites going in. Parents are already in mid-season form based on anonymous posts all over social media!

Keep relying to yourself… you may get the negative banter you always enjoy stirring up. No one else cares about a scrimmage.
Good luck to everyone in the upcoming tournaments!

A little rusty due to my other commitments on club soccer and field hockey teams, but it didn't stop me from scoring the first 5 goals of the game. Once I kicked it in gear the defense didn't stand a chance...I was shredding the D apart like a hot knife though butter!

Too early to even worry about rankings. Wait till the summer when teams are able to get a full preseason of practices and have full rosters at every tournament.

The current rankings are based 100% on last year anyway - they don't factor in player/coach movement.

Tournament set up is so notIntelligent ! How can you have 2 top teams be champions in 2 different brackets. How about the directors set up a championship division and a showcase division. Anyone want to play in a playoff and win a championship signs up and get in a bracket. Top teams advance
Others in showcase get 4 games of 20 min halves so they can develop and not worry about only playing top kids to compete ?

Others in showcase get 4 games of 20 min halves so they can develop and not worry about only playing top kids to compete ? What are you talking about? Currently ranked #2 M&D didn’t even make it into playoffs when they “are already in mid season form” according to their coach above. Currently ranked #1 Heros played #3 Coppermine in playoffs. Unless you are referring to how Heros green ended up playing Heros white for championship title of the tournament but Heros white isn’t a top 10 team. This post makes no sense. Fall ball tournaments are effectively in full swing and Heros and Coppermine are looking to be too 2 as expected.

Others in showcase get 4 games of 20 min halves so they can develop and not worry about only playing top kids to compete ? By this ridiculous logic, NGLL should also get rid of the B division. Only let the A teams win championships. Guess only the top teams deserve to fight to win their skill level championships.

Not it at all. Anyone can play for a championship when you sign up. Why have a team that plays in a very weak bracket get to play in a playoff where top teams play in the same bracket for 1 spot. Makes zero sense. Don’t ask to play in playoffs but request a 3 level bracket then.

They signed up for a tournament with playoffs. There were 4 brackets - 2 top brackets and 2 lower brackets. Top 2 from each made playoffs. It’s also fall where it gets dark faster so there is limited time for playoffs, meaning fewer teams.
