Why is NL having so much negative talk? Guessing i need to look on previous pages.. last year's champs crashed to 3-4 and missed the Hoco playoffs, haven't done much in the summer tourneys. People not happy with coaching, head coach is juggling multiple age groups, a HS team, and for some reason just launched a national team. Adding new players randomly. At other age groups (2026, 2030) people have taken notes that at any time 10 or more new players poached from other programs can result in a player who's accepted an offer and paid for the year being unceremoniously pushed to the B team, and that same scenario could definitely happen for the 2028 team. There's only so much of that behavior that people will put up with before they leave. same stuff happens at Madlax, only worse. and if you think the grass is greener at DCE, ask their 2027's how it is working out.

tryouts are always a fun time of year in 7th and 8th grade. every team has about 6-7 difference makers, and the rest are pretty interchangeable. so whatever movement happens among these three teams will have less effect than you think. the more important question is where does YOUR son stand on his team roster and what will his playing time look like after the dust settles.

"only worse" is debatable, NL replaced most of their 2024s with the ML team a year or two ago, and within the past three months did the same with the 2026 team (added 10+ Madlax players) and the 2030 team (in the process of replacing existing players with BLC's 2030 team). Other clubs have done this but NL does it the most and most recently. Been awhile since another club has done something like this.

MadLax would do the reverse if they could, but a dwindling number of families want to be part of that program. Why do so many families want to leave MadLax? Why is MadLax offering free enrollment (if a prior post is believed) to Next Level players willing to move in the other direction?

And a great job driving them away as they mature. Comes from the top.

Yes, but DCE teams are only as good as the BLC teams that feed them, and the best indicator of 2028 is 2027, not the older classes that were fed by good BLC teams. In 2027 Next Level is the best, MadLax second, and DCE distant third.

They’re offering free tuition to NL kids and to some of their own to keep them from leaving. Fewer and fewer families want to be associated with he and his program

Who says DCE won't just be Hit Squad, who did more the NL, ML and BLC could individually? I think other than 2 or 3 Freedom players and 1 FCA player they were just NL, BLC and some randoms.
I have no inside knowledge, but it seems like all 3 of the existing squads have negative connotations while DCE is new and in the same pool. If I were to take my kid to one (we won't, he's in Baltimore), it would be DCE. Wait, so if DCE did a large scale replacement of BLC kids who had been there since 3rd or 4th grade they'd be seen as the friendly new team? People would absolutely lose their minds if Madlax did that.

BLC is a club a Rec Org that uses dad coaches to keep the cost down, and they do a great job of it. But it ends after 7th grade. DC Express is an entirely different entity, and is the logical place for BLC kids to migrate towards, as well as NL and Madlax. But BLC kids are not incumbent players. My kid plays BLC and he will welcome with open arms the kids they can attract from NL and Madlax.

So is this Clippers team serious or are they just in it for Instagram pictures? They have already performed better on the gram than all you club directors and have not played 1 game. True is good at this game too.

It's primarily a sports marketing testing ground for KH.

Top 5 in Hoco AA next year for sure.

So with these clubs being feeder programs for high schools, are you guaranteed to make the team if you are enrolled/plan to enroll at the high school (FCA-Calvert Hall, Hawks-St. Mary's, Crabs-BL, Predators-St. Paul's/McDonogh)?

tryouts are always a fun time of year in 7th and 8th grade. every team has about 6-7 difference makers, and the rest are pretty interchangeable. so whatever movement happens among these three teams will have less effect than you think. the more important question is where does YOUR son stand on his team roster and what will his playing time look like after the dust settles. good points. so DCE 2028 had their tryout last week - were there any difference makers in attendance from the other local teams?

Nice. But you know what they didn’t win? Their game against the #HitSquad Sheeesh… leave it to a few overzealous NL parents. The Hit Squad was like 2-4, lost to some [Censored] teams, and clearly the Hawks didn’t take them seriously for that hour in June. They’d beat them by 10 today if they played again. Get over yourselves, it was a total fluke. And I’m not even a Hawks parents…

Clearly, BLC is a team on the rise, NL on a decline. And hearing Madlax might pick up some key NL players
