Question is after seeing Hawks and ML play, how do the Rebels stack up to the two top hoco teams?

Madlax is definitely better than the Rebels Stealth.
King Street had five teams in the 2031 and NAL had 15. Competition definitely fiercer at NAL.

Not sure any team really stacks up against 11/soon to be 12yo's playing in a 10 yo division.

How come the HOCO teams do so well in tourney's but never win the WS? Has to be b/c of age limits in WS.

I think the new age rules will be implemented by HOCO. Maybe a player or two from some teams will be affected. There are a handful of individual cases with private school "pre-first" nonsense. The team I know won't be. My understanding is that most of the WSYL related DQ is due to 8th grade reclass stuff. Hope new rules address that.

Just a bunch of 10 year olds at ML. Can’t speak for Hawks

It 100% is because WS has age rules - those teams are stacked with older kids who don’t meet WS age requirements

My understanding is that one of the 31 hawks used to play on the 30 igloo team then moved for family reasons. Either way, we’ll see which players from this past spring are still with the teams

Rebels beat Madlax and Hawks last spring. Both by 6-9 goals. They will be seeing each other in fall. We shall find out. They will never travel to island, so Rebels will visit them. Maybe 8 team fall inventional. Only good LI team at NAL was Igloo, who rebels have beat last 3 games by about 20-3.

Didn’t you lose to them in 2 of the last 3 championship games? One in fall and one in Spring? Okay guess those don’t count only the ones you win counted. Okay we get it

As a dad of a team who has played ML many times they are the clear best 4th grade team. I was surprised Hawks played them so close at NAL. How was it so close?

Rebels beat igloo the last 2 championship games they have played them. Penguin invitational and spring jam. Games weren’t close

Funny only change this weeks schedule. Igloo originally played rebels, now in a different Div. Guess AA had it changed.

How did rebels do at King Street? Saw they lost to 2Way in pool play, but the bracket seems to be missing results.

Come back when these kids are in 8th grade and tell us how much they have to offer. Make sure to let us know what can’t offer as well.

Lost and got blown out. Our kids got down a bunch and could not get it together. A good teaching moment and 2 Way outplayed us. We will see how we respond this weekend.

The legend of the rebels pumped here last year turned out to be a total fraud. LI teams won a total of 1 game against hoco teams at NAL. Is everything ok up there? The Maryland thread is popcorn worthy but the hoco teams are just a tier better than the LI teams, so we walk the walk, too.

Lets see what happens if HOCO teams only played kids born in 13, which is what 95% of all LI 4th graders are (or Dec 12).

It's really not MD fault. Their kids just started late and the age wasn't enforced. Their 11-12 year olds will have to play in the proper class in September.

Legacy Blue Devils and 91 Titans are both horrible. Why would anyone with a talented kid play on either team. The parents keep drinking the Koolaid but at some point people are going to jump ship. Would not be shocked if it happened this year!

There's probably only a 2031 HOCO player here or there affected by new rule -- e.g. my son's team is unaffected -- so I'm looking forward to next year's excuse as to why HOCO teams mop the floor with all the LI teams.

My son's '31 elite Hoco team doesn't have a kid with a birthday earlier than July 2012 and only one before September 2012, about half the team is 2013 birthdays.

As for the ML/Hawks question, the Hawk's goalie can stand on his head at times and not so much other times. The Hawks really slow it down on offense, so when the goalie's on, he can keep teh games really close. My son's team was 3-1 against the Hawks this year, one win was very close and the other two not so much. Just not a great team performance for the loss.

We have 2Way Black '31 at Great 8 in two weeks, so that's be interesting in respect of the jurisdictional debate.
