Wait ....so the queen of LI wasn't on full sized fields ? So are we talking about speed lacrosse? What you're saying is 91 is boasting about winning tournaments on shorter speed lacrosse type fields . Oh wow ....a new low for them.

I would have to agree with the above poster ...get back to us at the end of the summer after you go to Maryland and play on full sized fields . Until then you're nothing more than a speed lacrosse small field champ

The turf field used at Queen of the Island is a full sized field. 91 beat YJ and Tradition on this field.

I’m curious as to how the fields were assigned. Some teams never left the turf and others in the same bracket never got on it.

The equitable way to assign fields would not have been "put 91 on the turf for all three games." It would have been "there are six teams and three games so let's put everyone on the turf for one game." That would be 91 vs YJA (seem to be rivals at this point), Top Guns vs. Tradition (tied in the Spring), YJB vs. Grizzles (equally matched). But, I think you'll find that in most tournaments with this type of layout, there's an attempt to put the "main event" matchups on the turf field. They came close to accomplishing that this weekend, but it wasn't really the equitable way to do it.

So are you saying 91 besting YJ A yet again is a crappy win?
YJ looked tremendously out matched this past weekend.

Heard CR was not happy with the lineups- she was there walking up and down the sidelines, guess she cares about this team

I don't think anyone said that or even implied that. Which post are you responding to?

If it was the most recent, field distribution post, that was my post. Since those teams matched up on the turf field, I'm not sure how it would be relevant to a "that's not a fair win" conversation, nor can I comprehend how anyone would take that post that way.

The real test will be who from Long Island has the ability to beat Hero’s green.

Correct me if I’m wrong but only one team from LI has ever been on the field with them. And twice.

91 played them in the fall, and probably again this spring. Also played them last year.

And did they win? Heard they got spanked my Coppermine.
Looks like Mid Atlantic didn’t even bother putting 91 in the top bracket. But, if they or TG pull off some big wins this summer I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up with a large try out.

Didn't win, Heroes record is 23-0 this yr. Didn't play Coppermine yet. Were in top bracket in Fall, and also are in spring.

No one on LI is beating Heros. Maybe a team can beat them in a tournament playoff game since those games are only 1 half (20-24 mins).

Question is can anyone on LI finish in the top 5 at the end of the summer. Heros has the top ranking locked up with M&D Black, Coppermine, Maryland United, and Eagle Stix rounding up the top 5.

YJ beat Eagle Stix in the Fall but idk if that’s possible this summer. Those Maryland teams play each other all winter and spring so definitely a tall order. Long Island has spread their talent pool too thin.
I think YJ and 91 are the only ones who stand a chance. TG give the ball to one or two players and force it in on a triple team is not going to work in Maryland. Tradition does not have the fire power.
Where is Legacy in all of this?

Look at our schedule this summer
We will be at Lax by the Sea and the Mid Atlantic like other LI teams. We are also at Summer Genesis which has top teams like Heros MDU and Coopermine

Legacy's weekend games should put them ranked somewhere around 85th place once the rankings are updated.

They are competing as a B team with losses to the better B teams and victories over the weaker ones.
This weekend they beat Liberty and lost to Dewlax. They were rained out of their third game against Top Guns B.

I put all three of these teams at being neck and neck. As we all know, the algorithm for ranking really has nothing to do with whether or not the teams beat each other head to head. It's determined by meeting expected point spreads based on power ratings and opponent strength.

I have 91 with a power rating of 96.
6 wins, 2 losses
Three games where they did not meet the point spread
Opponent strength average: 92.62

I have YJA with a power rating of 97.
6 wins, 2 losses
Five games where they did not meet the point spread
Opponent strength average: 93.11

I have TGA with a power rating of 94.
7 wins, 3 losses, 2 ties
Four games where they did not beat the spread
Opponent average strength: 94

These numbers include all of the Q of LI games, but it should be noted the power rating will change after the rankings. Also, 91's power rating will adjust more than other teams because they were not ranked before Q of Li. I think these teams will be pretty close to one another. Not sure if it will be in the top ten. Some of those high ranking teams have deep rutted victorious records.

Is there a formula used for the initial power rating of a team?

USCL specifies that the rating is based on the sum of the average goal differential and average power rating of competition. Part of your rating is based on the rating of your competition. But at the start of all of this, there is no rating for your competition. So how do they calculate it. You can't just say "based on last year" because the same thing applied last year. Does someone make up a rating score at some point or is there an initial formula?

I actually like the system (but I'm unsure if any system should be used for 6th graders). I think it's pretty accurate, just don't know how the initial ratings are determined.

AVG goal differential is a factor in rankings....

91 - 4.37
YJ - 2.55
TG - 1.50

The team didn’t collapse and no one left. Fake news. Look at 2025…every team has tryouts because girls are Al leaving. Every team. Girls decide they don’t want to do this in college. Happens all the time.

Internet lesson for the day: hit "quote" after the post that you're replying to so that we know what the heck you're talking about and can connect your words to a post. Or...restate. Also, unplug the router for a few minutes and plug it back in and don't click on the link in the email. He's not really a prince.

Girls are "AI leaving?" Chatgpt is ruining lacrosse also?

This is correct. 4-5 final. .... 20 minute playoff game though.

Mills also beat Tradition 4-3

Tradition won vs Top Guns. 6-5
