Rebels bring home the gold again. Dominating win over Nationals in Philly. Saw 3 iglioo kids on Snipers. Yes, Rebels played them too, along with Towerman, and Orange Crush.

Are we going to see them at the NAL on 10-11 June?

Schedule will be up soon. Going to see alot of other familiar names up and down all the age groups as it’s one of the premier summer tournaments.

What’s the point of driving to Delaware to beat up on a bunch of long Island teams we’ve already dominated. Just so it will be Rebels and Igloo in the final. No thanks. Next you will probably say the rebels don’t get invited to the NAL. Well there 24 and 25 team are already playing in it. Next

Igloo imploding, any top kid should be contacting Rebels. Thing Rebels in King Street, better teams. Thanks for looking out.

Why would Igloo kids move to a team that is already saturated with talent? 91 and Legacy will benefit the most from Igloo's demise. I do agree with you on the tourneys - King Street will be more competitive than NAL.

They can improve at attack with some more scoring options.

Most unhappy Igloo kids going to Express. Makes sense. Certainly not driving to East Islip for Legacy. Don’t see any real talent going to a horrible 91 team. Are some interested in Rebels? Maybe . Definitely cause for concern if your on Igloo 2031.

The problem with Rebels is they have a bad image (whether its right or wrong I'm not close enough to know). College coaches generally don't want to deal with them (verbatim from a coach at a vg program). Sure some kids will get recruited, but if you're a college coach and call comes in from BBL, Madlax, Hawks, Express, Crabs, 91, Shore and even Igloo, etc.. you'll take one of those kids over a Rebels kid (all things being equal) just b/c those coaches are less obnoxious is the rumor. There are great players at every club so no need to deal with the BS.

I heard that 3 kids left igloo for express, one kid left Rebels for express and 1 kid left shore for express...I've heard this happens every year on most good teams. Kids that don't get a lot of time leave for another program.

What's the ideal size for a team? 20?

91/Express directors kids have came and went through the program.

Rebels directors kids aren’t playing lacrosse yet.

I don’t think it’s far fetched looking at the younger ages, and the recruiting success for rebels with limited rosters to say they will make their way to the top. No one is saying they are too to bottom the best program currently, but certainly seems like the place to be at younger ages. Top teams, lots of practices and training, lots of coaches/directors, lots of tournaments and an indoor facility…

Lots and lots and lots. Lots of everything except access to top tournaments.[/quote

Who cares who is the best. Find a team that fits your kid.
Does he enjoy playing with the team?
Does he like his teammates?
Does he like the coaches?
Is he improving and becoming a better player?
Is he getting sufficient minutes?
Most of all is he having fun?
If the answer is yes to these questions then you have the best team for you. If the answer is no to any of these questions, it’s time to find another team

They are still very young, enjoy the game. In a few years 91, express, igloo and even the rebels will be recruiting the best players from each team offering either free or reduced tuition. This usually happens in middle school. Happens every year. Just enjoy these next few years and make sure your kids are having fun

Best thing to come out of this thread....who cares who's #1 at 10yo! Find a team where your kid likes his teammates, has a nice coach, gets good training. 1/2 these kids won't be playing in 5 years despite what you may think now...seen it happen for the past 15 years.

Agreed - Their middies are set, just need some help for the Thomas kid on attack. They need a strong X and will be unstoppable for a long time.

Their new Director seems very nice he coaches their single A team as well - If they position him right could wash this away and possibly recruit some more Nassau talent.

This couldn’t be more wrong, they have one of best and most helpful recruiting staffs I have seen.

Having a kid who has gone through the recruiting process (he doesn’t play for rebels) this statement is not accurate. College coaches do not care what program you play for. They care about your skill set, needs, academics(can you gain admission) and if you are a good fit for their program. That’s it. Whether you played for Rebels, BBL, Primetime, means nothing to them.

If anyone is expecting their club coach to “get them recruited” you will be very disappointed. It’s your kids job to get himself recruited. Not your club coach. It’s a lot of work and a crowded field. If your kid works hard at getting recruited he will have success.

You may want to take a look at the lineups. Only kidding yourself. Biggest tournament of the summer this weekend. Stacked in every age group.

The comment about Rebels Image is such a Joke. No College coach takes any clubs word on a kid. They do there job, they watch them over and over. Who ever wrote that is a jealous person that has no clue. The Rebels are exploding, you can get in the train, or get over by it.

Having a kid that's gone through this and another one next year...this statement is partially true. This is why, historically 91 and Express draw the better players. They have the best calls to a college...maybe that will change one day, but I can assure you having a kid at one of those programs will help more than having a kid at a program that's not as well known. However, its also the kids job to "sell himself".

Nothing going on with Igloo. Same story for any AA team. The backend of the bench kids don’t play so parents are upset and move them to a team or club where they will get more playing team. Igloo’s top core players at each position are still there and are not going anywhere.

Kids that left weren’t getting playing time. It’s hard pill for parents to swallow when their kid is not a AA player. I don’t understand parents watch the same practices and games and if you are honest with yourself you can see the difference between players. And there is nothing wrong with that. I would rather my kid get decent playing time on an A or B team and develop as a player, than sit on the bench on a AA team.

I totally agree the competition at NAL was much better than King Street. However the rebels 25 and 24 team are both attending the NAL at the end of the July. So I really don’t think the Rebels don’t get invited to the NAL. If that was the case why would invite the older groups? Looks like most of the same teams will be at tri start this weekend. Should be a great tourney
