Teams can hold back kids? I thought it was up to the parents. Are there that many parents holding kids back for an advantage? I know of a couple of kids playing up and have really made their way to a starting roll. In my opinion thats they way to go.

New to the party. Can anyone say with any certainty if Crabs is fielding a 29 team this summer? I’d look for them to holdback a bunch of 28’s and field a team next year. Hearing FCA holding back a lot of kids as well. Your kid is a starter until he isn't. This is completely made up.

The way some of these quarter-zip dads roll into Blandair or Troy you'd think they're about to play. Relax Sparky, your son doesn't need to whip it around with you before his team gets there...

Really? A dad who is engaged with his kid before a game is bad? You sound like the kind of dad who just yells a lot and tells your kid they aren’t working hard enough, becuase your ego can’t handle it if he doesn’t score five goals a game.

If thinking private schools do not consider Gilman. There is no lacrosse team. It is a mess. They are moving to B conference in two years,

Your fool. Gilman has one of the most promising young coaches around. If there is a problem it’s likely because of a bunch of privileged kids who don’t like to hear the truth about their playtime.
Give it time. That dude is salt of the earth.

True has one less game against top 3 for total of 6 on the season and very likely giving them the edge. LTLC needs to pull off win over True to even create a possible scenario for FCA or LTLC.
Looks like True is in best position for the 4th slot especially escaping Madlax in regular season.

This is such a dense comment. Thinking you can cross your fingers and yell a lot isn't what makes a player better. If a dad shows interest in what his kid enjoys, that's a bad thing. Or maybe your example of making your kid better is ridiculing them and berating shame on you. If getting extra practice in, even if it's with your parent, is a bad thing than you have no clue to what makes a good player a great player. As long as, it's not forced. I am all for it.

You should ask yourself and all your alumni buddies if your egos are more important than this guys livelihood. Guy took over a program that needed to be revitalized and from a long time coach I believe. He’s barely had a chance to make an impact. Have a little patience. And maybe so humility. Your sound like an arrogant weenie.

If anyone in a 6th grade forum cares, Gilman is a great school in the middle to lower end of the miaa lacrosse pack. Coach is solid and not one of the retreads in the Baltimore qtr zip community. Back to Hoco talk, don’t feed the troll.

He has already proven he is not a good fit. Parents dislike him, players don’t respect him ( laugh at him) and he keeps blowing big leads. Gilman currently has as much talent as everyone in the league but McD. He’s embarrassing the school and will be the end of Gilman have a competitive lacrosse team. Has zero ability to recruit. If numbers play out Gilman may not have enough players to field a team.

Your sound like an arrogant weenie. My son and I went to meet with Gilman. The coach is socially weird. Has zero personality and very little knowledge of the MIAA and what it takes to win. We chose another school. My observation, Gilman doesn’t care about lacrosse!! If they did they would recognize the coach doesn’t have it. I don’t see how or why they would have hired such an incompetent person.

So anyway.
Pretty fool two weeks in hoco elite. Next level somehow comes back from a 3 goal deficit with less than 4 left to beat the hawks. Then hawks turn around beat madlax on a game they controlled, allowed them back in, and then came through with like 30 seconds left to win. True dominated FCA, but then next level who barely beat FCA somewhat controlled true a week later.
Parity is a good thing…the older they get the more parity will come. It’s healthy for the kids and fun to watch.

It appears that outside of ML, Hawks and NL, consistency in performance is a challenge for the balance of the elite teams. True, FCA, VLC and LTLC have all looked dominant or beatable from one week to the next.

Apparently you can put Madlax into the group of “challenges to find consistency.” 3 losses in their last 5-6 game. No bueno.

Wow what a week in the Elite 2029 Division! Once again love the parity in the division as every week matters. Also, love when the scheduling works out so you get a glimpse of all 8 teams playing at the same time @ Blandair.
Recap..............
LTLC over Madlax (7-6) - Madlax seemed to play sloppy all first half, but then looked to take control ending the 3rd quarter up 5-3. But LTLC kept battling, had a couple of questionable referee calls go their way, and came back with authority to get the victory. LTLC played well, but Madlax seemed all out of sorts. Today was not the normally disciplined Madlax team performance that we normally see. Madlax parents were hysterical of course. Does LTLC have enough for a playoff pushing now winning 3 in a row? 2 big games left for them vs. True and Next Level.
Hawks over FCA (5-4) - Another incredible game. Back and forth battle with Hawks holding the slight edge throughout. Hawks midfield is so smart and aggressive when needed in between the lines. FCA had several opportunities to score in the last 3 minutes, two great looks on man-up, but couldn't hammer one home to tie it up. Hawks shut down FCA's midfield, but FCA's attack shined. FCA shut down Hawks attack, and Hawks midfield shined. Another great lacrosse game. Hawks is proving to be the team to beat. Ready to lock up the #1 see for playoffs.........and also guessing a new National #1 ranking. FCA is solid though with two 1 goal losses now on the season.
True over VLC (11-4) - Another good victory for a solid True team. First half was close, but True turned it on in the second half. True sets up a big game next week vs. LTLC which both need to win for the playoff hunt.
Next Level over 91 MD (20-4) - Feel bad for the 91 MD crew each week.....Millon had to put them in Elite right? Next Level looks good though and ready to battle as one of the top teams in the division.
Playoff Outlook: #1 seed - Hawks #2 seed - NL
#3 - #4 (Comes down to Madlax, True, LTLC, and FCA).....several big games over the next two weeks. Should be exciting to watch!

Playoff Standings (5/1/23) Elite 1. Next Level (Holds Tiebreaker over Hawks with win) 2. Hawks (Holds Tiebreaker over True with win) 3. True 4. LTLC (Holds tiebreaker over Madlax with win) 5. Madlax 6. FCA
*Next Level plays (VLC / LTLC)....will be interesting to see what LTLC they get after the MADLAX upset? **Hawks plays (91 / True)....predicting both wins....but True is talented ***True (LTLC / Hawks)....predicting one win....but again which LTLC do they get? Also are they going to schedule the True vs. Madlax game that was missed due to players playing in WSL qualifier? ****LTLC (True / NL)...a week ago would have predicted 0-2. I could see them picking up one win here. *****Madlax (FCA / 91)....which Madlax team will we see vs. FCA? Predicting they win both. ******FCA (Madlax / VLC)....which Madlax team will show up this week? They had two 1-goal losses to NL and Hawks...so know they will play them tough. If somehow they can win out they would have tie breaker over LTLC.
Should be an interesting finish. Huge games this week (LTLC vs TRUE) and (MADLAX vs FCA) should provide more clarity.

Playoff Standings as of 4/30
AAA 1. True Baltimore Black 2. Preds 3. HoCo (Holds tiebreaker over CM and Team MD) 4. Carroll Manor 5. Team MD 6. Kelly Post Grey
* True Baltimore will clinch the 1 seed with a win over either HoCo or Carroll Manor (tiebreaker over preds for head to head) ** Preds should be in with a win in the final 2 games (Team $ and Hoco) *** Hoco Has 2 tough games (True Balt Black and Preds) that they need to win 1 in order to make the playoffs but they do hold the head to head tie breakers with both Carroll Manor and Team MD) **** Carroll Manor vs Team MD is essentially a play in game for the playoffs. winner is in the playoffs and likely will be the 4th seed
AA 1. True Baltimore (Green) 2. Bethesda Blue 3. True VA 4. Swarm 5. Madlax
*True Balt locks in the 1 seed with a win over BLC Blue. If BLC Wins they will be the 1 seed. This is one of the games of the week **True VA will need 1 win in its final 2 to be in the playoffs and most likely will be the 3 seed but could be the 2 seed with a win in the final week over BLC Blue ***Swarm vs Madlax is a play in game for the playoffs, the winner is in. Game of the week pt 2 ****The scenarios in AA are much simpler than the other divisions but still a great deal of parity and tons still at stake over the next 2 weeks.
A 1. Hippos 2. HLC 3. ALC 4. Impact 5. Blue Claws 6. Ville
* Hippos need to win both games to take the #1 Seed, 1 win and they are in the playoffs and will have a bye in the first round ** HLC has the same scenario as Hippos. These teams will play in the final game of the season for the top seed ***ALC needs both Hippos and HLC to lose at least one of their games to become the 1 seed. ****The top 3 teams seem to be locks to go to the playoffs ***** Impact needs 1 win and a Blue Claws or Ville Loss in order to be into the playoffs (Impact plays Blue Claws in the final game of the season ***** Blue Claws needs a victory in one of their final 2 games of the season to join the playoff dance. ******Ville needs a ton of help and a victory over ALC and BLC Orange to make the playoffs
Parity across the division. A ton of thanks goes to my Elite friend who is giving us all the lowdown from the top of the division. Thank you who ever you are.

nothing to watch. if you were there, you saw the mess that ML brought to the field. save yourself the time. here are the highlights-
ML- no heart, looked scared, beat up, like robots. obvious from first F/O they were not the ML team that has dominated 29 . O and D- sloppy. missed shots, missed passes, coaches joysticking. D let in 3 quick goals in the 4th. goalie missed 2 he would take back. no f/o wins in last 10 mins, no offensive possession in Q4. ML needs help in the mf. no D mids, no speed. coach recruits kids, he should focus recruiting on big tough mf. can't clear the ball. as ususal, coaches and parents yelling the entire game. if they have professional jobs, they must not be able to speak during the week. refs were a 5 out or 10. couple questionable calls against ML that led to goals. save yourself the hour and don't look for the game highlights. just know they didn't look like they wanted to be playing from the start and that determined the outcome with minutes left. it was miserable out there. LTLC has improved. ML played poor lacrosse but not taking away the improvement and physical growth from Lutherville.

Wonder if madlax can get it down against fca or make it 3 loses in a row. Who cares, they are 11(Or should be) They are great athletes beat down to play scared by overzealous coaches. It’s not the fastest game on 2 feet anymore. All the elite “elite” matchups are dragged out to 4 min offensive stall ball until kids (coaches) turn it over. Your kids are better off playing rec, lower level hoco, and developing, then just getting ground balls and passing to coaches kids. That’s why there is 60 kids on high school rosters, 15 play!

Like the perspective. You are right it has become noticeable how these “elite” teams have come “elite”? Coaching rather than making players better. Rec programs are disappearing by the year. I think there are even high school teams “public” that can barely field teams. Wondering how many Rec teams are left in hoco 2029’d

For the life of me, I cannot understand why we continue to pay Club lax $ to an org that allows daddy coaches. The few daddy coaches that “get it” are the ones who are harder on their own kid, which simply isn’t the case at Madlax 2029, 2028, and 2027. And it will/is destroying these teams.

Got the chance to watch LTLC vs. TRUE this past weekend and then stayed for some of FCA vs. Madlax. Two more incredible one goal games.
True and LTLC battled back and forth early, but then True pulled ahead in the 3rd. It seemed like the might run away with is, but LTLC was gritty and tough, and battled back. Had several shots in the last minute to potentially tie the game, but came up just short.
Didn't get to watch the entire FCA vs. Madlax game, but what a battle. Both teams slugged each other back and forth. FCA was up 4-3 at half. From what I heard from someone who stayed, Madlax took a slight lead going into the 4th and then processed the ball and ran clock for a good portion of the 4th quarter to hold on for a one goal victory 9-8. Big win for Madlax to try and secure that 4th and final playoff spot. Another tough 1 goal loss for FCA (that's 3: NL, Hawks, and Madlax).
Next Level and Hawks both dominated against VLC and Team 91 MD as expected.

That will not be able to happen next year with all elite teams on both 28 and 29 going to an 80 second shot clock I know that does not help this year but it will certainly make games more watchable. As for daddy ball I don’t have an answer for that
