Hawks beat True National and Madlax in a double header. Great weekend for them.

Crabs, Next Level, and True fighting for the 4th playoff spot. Next weekend will be interesting!

ML defense exposed. Attack is non-existent. Only threat is the often discussed middie, but stranded on a fading team. Doubt they beat either Crabs or Fly-ins from True. Certainly not as much DC talent across the board with all 3 teams at 2028 as with the 24’s… and by far the most talented is this ML import from Richmond. Coach is still a piece of work.

Madlax, number 47 is no longer heads and shoulders above the rest. He is just an average player now. Didn’t even score against us yesterday, not sure he got more than one shot at the cage. Their attack look like they’re 2030s. Only spot they have improved is Fogo, but everywhere else they have dropped off significantly. Coach is still a clown.

Coming from where? The 27s?

Madlax will beat Crabs.

Madlax beating True National will depend on how many of the fly-ins show up.

But that said, unless the ML parents want to make excuses about football, soccer, basketball and injuries it looks like their days as being a dominant team are over. Decline confirmed.

Finally got to see the Hawks play. I don't think it was closer than the score, that comment always baffles me. The Hawks offense was a little slow to get going due to the True defense playing well for sure. I will say that the talk about the Hawks defense is legit. They are tough to score on. They have a good goalie and their poles are sound and can play. I agree that True relied on #81 way too much. The Hawks seemed to iso him with one of their poles and basically wore him down and made him work. True did not seem to adjust to that. I am not sure which kids are the fly ins on the True team but they played aggressive and tough.

Madlax coach is unhinged.

Madlax parent yelled "don't worry boys, the Hawks players will all be working for you one day" on the way out of the bleachers. Just kinda sad how far that team has fallen, parents included. Might be a rough summer for them.

Hawks looked efficient and twice as fast.

Coach is an embarrassment to the sport.
The dad yelling "he went early!!!" the whole game was a treat too.

Well, I for one, hope Madlax win out so they are in the playoffs and we get to watch their parents again.

It's glorious watching them realize what's happening and that 3rd grade trophies mean nothing

I almost have no negative opinion of anyone in the elite bracket other than Madlax. I don't care if teams have holdbacks, fly kids in, have benches with 30 kids etc., but Madlax is everything wrong with the sport. Poor sportmanship a lunatic coach and the parents to match, make it a toxic brew.

So for playoffs we have two teams in: Hawks and FCA.

Two teams out: BLC and Team 91.

Four teams with a chance to get the final two spots: Madlax, True, Next Level, and Crabs. Madlax and True in the driver’s seat. A split of the two remaining games basically gets Madlax in and likely gets in True. NL basically needs True to go 0-2 for the weekend and beat BLC or needs to beat FCA (and BLC) and have True split or Madlax lose both. Crabs need a miracle involving them beating the Hawks and the others teams losses lining up just right because of the tie breakers.

Thank you for an intelligent and non-snarky analysis. I had handicapped it about the same, but this spells out the details.
Looking at the regular season scores, Hawks should win it going away, and everyone else is playing for second. The only team to give them a game is Next Level in week 1 (7-5). I did not see the game, but my guess is that the Hawks would normally beat NL by the same margin they are beating everyone else, but probably they were slow out of the game and/or the Next Level goalies kept it close.

It is scary how badly the parents on the MadLax team have been brainwashed. They will see the light and get the heck out at some point, just like on the older MaxLax teams. I hope for their sons' sake they do it sooner than later.

Not sure what game you watched. Kid hit the post 3 times and missed cage on a number of other occasions, was a constant threat and was being triple teamed with slides all game because Hawks coach knows what he's doing. They have nothing else.

Both Madlax and Hawks have a bunch of mouthy, lunatic parents. Madlax coach screaming, Hawks coach refusing to shake some players hands. Both absolutely classless coaches. A few of the parents from each actually get along fine.

That kid was being berated by his insane coach most of the game. Was playing his heart out, only kid playing physical for them and got no help. Agree with this take, our whole D was focused on him. I look for him to move to Next Level. Hardly average - get back to schoolwork kid.

That's about it. Hawks coach got into it as well by chirping their players. Not many involved with that game has a handle on the fact that this is 7th grade lacrosse. Disgusting.

Cute thinking he's a problem anymore. He's not. Actually he's a punk and took two or three bad attempts to de-cleat a Hawks player . One time he picked the wrong dude and took his own helmet off in a violent collision. Kids dad hates the team and coaches but doesn't have much choice.

#47 Dad - You don't get credit for shooting and missing. Sorry, no sympathy for a kid playing down who is now average amongst kids a year younger.

Reality is a hard pill to swallow.

Cute thinking he's a problem anymore. He's not. Actually he's a punk and took two or three bad attempts to de-cleat a Hawks player . One time he picked the wrong dude and took his own helmet off in a violent collision. Kids dad hates the team and coaches but doesn't have much choice.
As a Hawks parent, I think all of this vitriol is being spewed by a couple parents on either side. We’ve got our couple of parents who are bad, they have theirs.

They have some really good players, but I feel sorry for them as 7th graders having to deal with their coach. Their kids played hard, they’re just overmatched in games like yesterday and their coach is not doing them any favors. Just Wow, that guy.

I’m careful in writing those kids off, they’re skilled and they do play hard. Their FOGO’s are very good, don’t know where they found them. They clearly had the upper hand on us in that regard, as a previous poster noted, and that was always a weak spot for them. But once they had the ball, they were really ineffective.

Elite division has become a 2-horse race.

FCA Rolls

#47 Dad - You don't get credit for shooting and missing. Sorry, no sympathy for a kid playing down who is now average amongst kids a year younger.

Reality is a hard pill to swallow.

Doubt his old man on this forum, laid back about it all. Sat with us all FCA game. Didn’t even cheer when his kid scored on us. Madlax is in decline no doubt.

Not a Hawks or Madlax parent but I've interacted with 47's dad a few times, seems like a chill guy. IMO 47 isn't as dominant as he was last year but he's still pretty exceptional. Just doesn't have as much of a size advantage anymore as other kids are growing as well. Everybody relax, it's a blessing to be playing this sport at this level, tons of parents and kids would kill to switch places with all of us. It'll be over next spring and we'll all prob miss it a little, as fool as it can get.

So.. can a True parent chime in? What's the vibe on that team. Is everyone cool with the kids flying in to play? How many kids have been relegated? Do they keep flying in players for the end of the season without having the success they hoped for?

True parent here. Not cool at all. I never thought I would be praying for a roster check and DQ of my own son's team, but that is honestly where I am at.

His Dad is very chill and very nice. He speaks with everyone and does not seem to take it too serious. And for what it is worth my 7th grade son tells me that his son 47 is a nice kid on the field. Lets not forget these kids are 7th graders...talent will ebb and flow for the next four years and things will look completely different each year. Our team has won a few and lost a few but I will say it seems some programs fall behind in a game and they start with illegal checks, diving for calls, and complaining to refs increase...that falls on the coaching. I agree that every team has its parents that can get emotional, but on the whole I think most people are genuine and just want their kid to get the best possible experience.

We have a good friend on the team. He's pretty realistic about it. His kid is one of the better players and so his time isn't really affected. He says parents are annoyed as you would expect. He would definitely take his kid to another team if the opportunity came up, but this isn't the reason. It's the overall experience. In his estimation his kid would make some of the better teams but not get as much playing time. I think that's fair. He looks at True as a way to play elite lacrosse but not really a good way to do it if that makes sense. Funny enough, he looks at MadLax and thinks "that's worse".

I agree, the only thing that matters in life is 7th grade HOCO playoffs. Nothing else.

What's really shocking is that the rest of the universe isn't standing still to see which middle school team in the country's 16th most popular youth sport comes out on top.

True did win two close games and made a braggadocios IG post that “True Chesapeake” was becoming one of the best 2028s in the country.

Then proceeded to lose.

It’s just ridiculous that they are trying to mask that they are running out true national and calling it true chesapeake.

All remaining families of actually local true kids should leave.

True Chesapeake and MadLax actually play each other in the final game of the season, that will likely decide the playoff fate of one or both teams, and maybe have a ripple effect on other team(s). How cool would it be for Madlax to call for a roster check and get True booted?? It might be the first time in history that Madlax actually had the high ground and others were rooting for them - c'mon Cabell please do it!!!
